I want to buy market warrior but i dont think these results are reliable

i've downloaded market samurai, and thought it was a great tool. until i started double checking it's keyword analyzer against seo book and google itself. as an example: I read on this forum(from one of the guys that works for the MS company) regarding market samurai:

"The SEO Competitor counts are based on phrase-matched results in Google."

my results don't match that, whats going on? take the word: "holiday insurance"

MS competition results(SEOC) = 164,000
google results = 637,000

and yes i put the word in between "" to get the real competition. i understand the tool doesn't have to be that accurate, but its off by about half a million hits. for other long tailed keywords, it's scarily accurate. so why the discrepancy? just looking to get this cleared up before i purchase.
