I am looking for stand alone Auto Responder Software..Instead of using monthly fees service as Aweber.. Is there is any ??

If price is the issue, try getting a free account with getresponse. Only when you earn enough money from it, then consider upgrade. Please don't risk your business by using self-hosted solution. You may regret some time later, hopefully sooner than later. If you need the link, just PM me.

Yes!GWA autoresponder is better if you are using wordpress.Try the free one and if you have lot of subscribers,you acn move to pro version.

If you are serious in your online business and still want to host the system by yourself, I really suggest you to get autoresponseplus.com or emailmarketer.

Don't use any cheap or free script. I've tried all the free autoresponder script. The best free script is from infinite responder since it can manage unlimited campaigns from single installation. However there are some bugs in the script too.

Therefore, get the paid script (better) either from autoresponse plus or emailmarketer. But then, you still need to have "best" server to host this script. A shared hosting is not recommended since you might get suspended by the provider. You need at least a VPS server (Cost around min ~USD20/month) or a dedicated server (recommend)

Else, get getresponse (v6 is coming) or aweber. This is the best and easiest way to use autoresponder system.

Aweber is able to resend the email to users who do not click your link. Do we have this with others? I don't have much experience with others.

About to buy autoresponse plus. Where did you find VPS for around $20/mo? Everything I've looked at is higher...

It's true - AutoResponse Plus 4 is long overdue, with still no timeline for it's launch (I corresponded with Neil, the founder some weeks ago). I'm getting tired of ARP3 and some of its limitations, so I'm starting to look elsewhere.

I can confirm that if you have BIG lists you wish to use with an AR, you are better off getting dedicated server - because most shared servers limit the number of emails you can send each hour - mine (HostGator) limits me to 500 per hour, which really slow downs the sending of some of my 10K lists.

VPSes (with minimum 512 MB memory atleast) starts from 30 - 40 dollars. Cheap VPSes are difficult to manage because they will be timed out because of low memory.

VPSes memory is used not only by your sites, also to run the VPS internal processes. So you better buy VPS with minimum 512 or 1024 MB memory.

I tried a sever base auto responder and did not like it. I use a monthly service from trafficwave.net they provide the best bang for the buck in my opinion. sign up for the 30 day free trial to check it out.

The key to selecting any autoresponder option should be whether or not the service will help you become more efficient, driving sales while reducing costs in both time and money.

In my own experience, many folks who try the self-hosted options quickly switch to server based solutions from a reputable autoresponder service.

The main reasons that I hear consistently include:

1) Deliverability. Companies that are able to focus on building and maintaing solid relationships with major ISP's are simply going to be better at helping your messages get delivered. Your AutoResponder service should have this entire process locked down.

2) Flexibility. How much time do you want to spend on software updates, managing databases, developing features, and keeping the system functioning properly? That's time you should be spending in building your lists and your business.

There are other issues and some horror stories I've heard over the years.

If you've got the technical skills, resources, and time to manage your own hosted solution, that may be a good option for you.

Most folks would prefer (and rightly so) to outsource those functions to a company that is dedicated specifically to those tasks so you can focus on building your business.

I use getresponse because I like the hosted solution, but if I were to use a self hosted one, I'd go with autoresponse plus. It seems to be widely supported by other apps such as wishlist member, etc.

Don't know what level of service you want from it, but many hosting companies include simple auto-responders in the Control Panel. usually listed under Mail Manager in the CP.
