Farewell XSite Pro And Welcome SiteBliz

Received email from XSitePro owner Paul Smithson a week ago that there will not be any new versions but the current desktop software will also not be on sale for long as well.

Instead there will be closing down sales of XSitePro and all other tools created by his company.

The good news is while XSitePro will be gone, its closest competitor Sitebildz has improved by leaps and bound. It was created by the same creator of Senuke X.

Now includes pay-as-you-go option besides the usual monthly options.

According to Paul, he have had several discussions with various programmers but could not agree completely.

Moreover due to overwhelming competition from other competitors and the fact that more people are using mobile apps than desktop application, he felt it pointless to go further.

      Am disappointed.

The only thing that consoles me is that the software will continue to function for all existing customers despite not being for sale for long.

I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. I think I bought xsitepro in 2006 and it was a pretty slick system at the time. I started rapidly building a bunch of adsense mini sites and, actually, some of those sites are still running to this day (set and forget). But once everything went online, nobody wanted to use this desktop solutions.

Hey Amuro thanks for checking out Sitebildz Advantage, as you mentioned it has come along way since we introduced the platform last year and with serious feature development on a constant ongoing basis its going to be even more amazing.

I too was a member of Xsite Pro when it was first released and was surprised when I received the email about the shut down. However, as a developer I can certainly understand where Paul is coming from.

Wait...What? Sitebildz, a $127/mth SaaS online membership that is based on WordPress is a direct competitor to Xsitepro, a desktop application that costs $197 one-time?

Sorry...this doesn't add up. It seems like you're capitalizing on Xsitepro's shutdown to promote Sitebildz.

Here is a list of desktop-based software applications that are similar to XsitePro.

    Joe,

Sitebildz is insane. This is definitely an Aff Mrkt's dream. It's worth every bit of penny. It's very powerful in the right hands!

I am a Xsite pro user an owner. I am disappointed that they decided to close shop. Right now marketers have a love affair with wordpress. But I run a lot of sites and always having to update wp and plugins for me is a hassel.

Sites built using xsite pro and html editors I find to be much easier in the end. I have sites I have not done much with in years and they keep doing their job and earning. That frees me up to work on new projects instead of always being in maintenance mode.

Of the tools listed in this thread that are similar.... I think xara is the closes in comparison to xsite pro, but although it looks interesting, I am not sure if it can truly compete comparatively.

Dreamweaver is the industry standard, but is really a different tool.

For those of you who have xsite pro 2.5, if you learn a little html you can get it to do most anything wp can do. If you can build a template in photoshop and convert it to html or pay for a few good ones, you can regularly add new, modern templates that look fresh.

Just a thought for those who own the tool.
