Issues? It's a Sean Donahoe product, so of course there are issues, and I imagine plenty of them.

However, maybe not so many this time around. Andrew Hunter gave a decent interview about the product.

Edited: Ah, sorry. Can't give the video link. It has Andrew's affiliate link in it. But you can simply do a search for profit builder on youtube.

Just tried to load the site on an iPad and there were quite a number of errors inc. videos not showing and large areas of blank space. So, looks like responsive/browser errors in css. Hopefully, they'll iron these out.

This is actually a pretty good builder system that Sean modified. I happen to know where he got it. The developer of the original system is pretty active with updates. So, I feel confident that any core issues will be addressed as they have been over a year since the initial release..

I have to believe any errors right now are a result of the additional features packed onto the core product.

I also feel a little bit stung though by the first OTO, which I purchased, as there is little here other than a promise for more to come. This felt like a rush to try to include something that wasn't ready for prime time yet.

The real value here is the core web builder itself and the initial included templates with the modifications of the builder for IM. The intro price being pretty reasonable for this, all considered.

I bought it and my first impressions are good. I think dev option is good value for the money.

It would be great if it could integrate custom post types - From my tests it is not possible.

I pass on OTOs. Not impressed.

Sean is offering an upsell OTO for Profit LaunchPad, which is a system of pre-optimized sites that can utilize Profit Builder. A second offer is for some of Sean's plugins. None of these are necessary for using the initial product.

Interesting that Shane Melaugh just came out with his Thrive Landing Pages plugin today, as well.

A lot of similarities, though Thrive is $20 more than Profit Builder. And he doesn't include a theme, like Sean does.

But, a "premium" plugin shouldn't mess with any theme, especially a premium one. So, the theme is really just a little extra enticement.

Still, I'm more drawn to Thrive than Profit Builder. It seems to have more overall flexibility. But fewer templates. Hmmm.

Anyone else been looking at both? Or care to?

Because for me, Profit Builder seems to provide the greatest value (at the moment), yet Thrive Landing Pages seems to be the better product...

As RussGu3 pointed out - Shane Melaugh's Thrive Content Builder does something similar to Profit Builder (thanks Russ - I actually already bought TCB but hadn't checked out the new features!)

Although I don't know him personally, I can say that after following his work for several years Shane seems to be a completely trustworthy and ethical marketer (wow - I know! ) He's not going to leave anyone high and dry or release anything that won't be supported long term.

You can see a video of the features his plugin shares with Profit Builder .

Also, I read an interesting "review" of Profit Builder by a professional coder that points out a huge flaw with the system which you can read here: WP Profit Builder | Brett Rutecky

        Hope that helps!

If you read Brett Rutecky's review dated 9/15/14, he amended it at the bottom with the following:

UPDATE: The ION Cube requirement has been REMOVED from this product! While I wont claim that this decision was made primarily because of my article Id like to think that it was made at least in part because of it. Either way though the important thing is that it has been removed. As such this article no longer applies to this product.

Just delivering the message. I am not involved with this product, just interested.

I was just about to click the buy button then I remembered reading a review from another warrior:

There's no affiliate link in the review itself for the product in question so I hope this doesn't get deleted. I've sent several support tickets to my webhosts to see if upgrading to PHP 5 will mess up my other plugins.

I'm Shane's business partner, we co-founded Thrive together - I saw a few posts about our product in this thread and wanted to share some up-to-date info about Thrive Content Builder.

They both represent the same philosophy of the new wave of WP web builders. In reality they are just fancy shortcode generators. Shane Melaugh has a nice product, but it's a struggle to compete with all the other builders out there.
Perhaps you're basing your analysis on your perceptions about what our product does rather than having actually used it. Alternatively, if you have used it, then there's a misunderstanding about how our plugin works, so I'll clarify:

Our editor doesn't use shortcodes or generate them. It's compatible with shortcodes, so you can use them in the editor, but we don't generate shortcodes because that requires extra interactions with the server which slows down the editing process massively.

Given that our whole mantra is to provide a streamlined, lightweight and minimal abstraction editing experience, shortcodes aren't feasible and so we don't use them.

Thrive Content Builder is a little skimpy yet on elements
Our elements list for all themes are as follows: text, Wordpress shortcode preview, image, button, icon, credit cards, custom html, custom css, content container, content reveal, star rating, columns, content boxes, twitter quote share, styled lists, dividers, testimonials, calls to action, guarantee boxes, pricing tables, horizontal tabs, vertical tabs, image feature grid, icon feature grid, content toggle, tables, google map embed, countdown timer, responsive video, table of contents generator and optin forms

Due for release: insert widget, post gallery (including custom content types), icon content boxes.

What elements would you like to see added to the plugin? I'd be really interested to know which elements you think are missing for market research purposes.

So, haven't tried them out yet but my impression is that Thrive Themes would be good for more hands-on control and Profit Builder for speed.
Food for thought - thanks for your view. It's always interesting to see how people perceive your product from the marketing. As you're already a customer, I would be interested to hear your thoughts in our forum once you've tried the product.

My parting thought for anyone who's looking to purchase any kind of content builder is to take into consideration that there are two main components at play:-

        1. The ability to create the exact type of page or piece of content that you need in the fastest time possible.

        2. The way in which the content is served in the front end of the web site and the footprint attached to that.

Part 2 is often overlooked but is a massive factor in making sure your web site doesn't suffer.

I've used both (Profit Builder and Thrive). As far as flexibility goes, my first impression is that you can build anything from the header right on down to the footer with Profit Builder. During my tests, however, I can see that the sheer volume of options that are available in Profit builder will take some time to implement. If you use a Profit Builder template and just change the text, that's the fastest way I've found so far to get the job done. Otherwise, you're playing with buttons for hours on end.

On the other side of the coin, the two step opt-in process Shane demonstrated on the new version of Thrive seems to be where things are headed as far as listbuilding goes. His plugin seems to be just as solid as Profit Builder with "less distractions" as far as the layout goes.

If someone had a gun to your head and you had to build the whole site from start to finish, though, the OTO Profitbuilder launchpad or PaperTemplate would problem get you to the finish line first.

I don't think those are good arguments.

Running sites with php5.2 is like looking for trouble. 5.2 is EOL and has a lot of vulnerabilities.

And Ioncube is a "must" to have installed. There are a lot of programmers that use it on their WP plugins and themes, and external php scripts.

I agree there are some (a lot of) complaints about other SD products but I don't agree that demanding ioncube and php5.3 is something to complain about.

I have to agree, most Internet providers already have iconCube loader installed and everyone should be running the latest PHP stable release. This is really a non issue.

As far as a comparison between Shane Melaugh's Thrive Content Builder and Profit Builder . They both represent the same philosophy of the new wave of WP web builders. In reality they are just fancy shortcode generators. Shane Melaugh has a nice product, but it's a struggle to compete with all the other builders out there. Good templates and easy implementation and modification of them is the key. Both products give you a live update view of your work. As I mentioned Profit Builder is being built on a product that has already had over 12 months of experience among users. So, in reality it's not new, just updated.

The main difference, as I see it, is Thrive Content Builder is a little skimpy yet on elements and somewhat pricier for the developer license. However, I also agree that Shane Melaugh himself is a professional with solid products and a pleasure to do business with.

I already have Thrive Themes content builder and am planning to use it to add 2-step opt-in forms to my sites (the Opt-In Links plugin that was launched a few months ago supposedly did this but the review thread here on the WF showed that a lot of people couldn't get it to work...)

I'm still going to get Profit Builder though because it seems that I can just hit a few buttons and get complete ready-made pages like the one on the sales page.

Based on recent comments about products by the seller, my expectations for this product were not very high. I have two products ready to launch, but have struggled with both Authority Pro 3 (compatibility with plugins and theme) and InstaBuilder (just not doing what I need).

So I bought Profit Builder yesterday figuring that if it was a lemon, I would eventually get my money back via refund.

Using an existing template, within two hours, I had an entire sales page built. This is a marketing guru level sales page with all the bells and whistles. Absolutely blown away so far. My ONLY complaint thus far is that when choosing an icon, the image in the selection window does not match the icon that actually gets put into the page. So, if using the icon feature within a sales page, you literally have to select through the list to find the one you want. Hopefully this well get fixed soon.

Today, I am very pleased with this product. Based on reputation, I do have some long term concerns about updates and support, so I am still wary about promoting the product.

If the product is maintained with decent support, it could be a winner. Heck, if I get my two products launched successfully with this plugin, I will have gotten my moneys worth.

I did not purchase any OTO's, and am using the PB plugin on an existing theme with many other plugins including a membership site without any problems.

Yeah I think I'll give it a try as well. I'm on Brett's mailing list and he's done a 180 on his review since they removed the ION Cube requirement (post #11) which he originally felt wasn't worth the trouble, this was the day before the launch. Now the day after the launch the ION Cube requirement was removed and he seems A BIT more excited about it. Satisfaction Guarantee, developers license... forced to at least check it out.

This system is awesome and as an optimize press user I gotta tell ya it really seems like a much more user friendly way to go and that is saying a lot because I really like OP2!

Anyway just wanted to jump in here and give my opinion.

Using one of the included templates, I built the following page in about two hours. Obviously, it is not complete, but I spent dozens of hours trying to do the same thing with InstaBuilder and Authority Pro 3 without nearly this much success.

I am a technical guy and not a marketer, so I amazed myself getting this done in such a short time. Again, time will tell if this product has decent support.

A new update was issued today and I was able to upload the new version from the Plugin menu without having to physically download any files and everything worked flawlessly.

As for the question about GetResponse, it works fine by adding your HMTL code for your form from GR right into the squeeze page. Tested and works fine.

I really want to use Profit Builder, but there is one HUGE issue what I can't. It's mobile responsiveness SUCKS!

All one has to do is look at any of the templates on their mobile device. If mobile responsiveness is not an issue for you, then it is a cool system at a dirt cheap price. But of you like your website and sales pages to render properly on a mobile device, then stay away.

Here is the big issue with this, Sean did not develop the core function of the plugin. It is a plugin for sale on CodeCanyon, I think its called the front end builder. So him not having it developed personally, what is the likelihood that proper responsive options will EVER be added? Slim to none, this is Sean we are talking about after all.

OptimiePress is a much more mature platform and their entire business is OptimizePress, not the next shiny object they can sell. OP has options for their elements to not display on mobiles, thus making it look proper.

When you look at PB on a mobile, text overlaps, text and elements are not aligned properly, elements that only look correct on the right or left, like arrows, get stacked and look unprofessional.

Anyway, that is my 2 cents.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[9532683].message }}

"SUCKS" is a very strong word.

It is not perfect but a few css lines to align images and increase line height make it ok.

Funny is I just opened both (OP and PB) in my "old" android to test them.
PB opened ok. OP didn't respond to screen size - I get vertical and horizontal scrollbars.

My concerns about PB are more related with some modules no working ok and future updates - that could be a big issue...

You can enable or disable responsiveness in OptimizePress 2. Perhaps you are using version 1 or have it disabled in v2. All the pages I create, or templates I have used, in OptimizePress 2 have responded perfectly. The point of a front end builder is to NOT have to edit css. It would be a major pain to edit the media queries for each element that is not rendering well. So I do agree that "SUCKS" is a strong word, but I do think it sucks. Maybe I will put it in lower case next time!

Have you see the PB sales page on a mobile? Case in point.

I opened OP homepage and PB homepage in my mobile. PB is not perfect like I said but is easy to fix. OP homepage opens like desktop. Maybe OP disabled responsiveness on their homepage or my mobile is not reading correctly.

For me editing css is easy since I use microthemer plugin on every site but I agree with you that the point of a builder is not to have to edit files.

And of course I agree also that OP is a mature product - and more expensive too.

Just picked up the Thrive content builder plugin. Will be putting it through the ringer over the next few days to determine which one I keep.

After my initial surprise at how great PB was, it has completely waned. My website is sluggish, my pages were trashed when the license server was down and the history of products from the product seller leave me very apprehensive.

Willing to see if the license issue is addressed in the next few days and will continue to try out the PB updates before asking for a refund.

Will update the thread with a comparison of the differences between PB and Thrive in the next few days.

Really, he needs a good swift kick in the pants, as my mama would say, if he drops the ball on this one. He could hang his hat on this until retirement if he supports it right.

I'm often amazed how many marketers "gun and run" on products that could be made into evergreen income. Buyers aren't the only ones chasing shiny objects.

No doubt. Sounds a bit crazy maybe, but I wish he had included some kind of recurring payment option - for new monthly templates, for example - instead of having everything free for life for the one time payment. Sellers who have a recurring plan set up tend to provide much better support and it gives them incentive to provide frequent improvement updates.

Shane Melaugh with his Thrive Content Builder does a yearly recurring option for support, but that's all.

Sean's track record is disturbing and makes me nervous about buying any product he releases...yet, here I go again, buying something else from him.

Thrive's main business is actually a theme club (monthly or yearly recurring) of which the Content Builder is the flag ship plugin and sells for a one time fee or comes as part of the membership.

Just a helpful note about replacing the sample videos in the templates with different videos....

A straight copy/paste of a video url (from YouTube or wherever) hasn't worked for me. You have to first add a space and then backspace after pasting the video url for the video to show up, replacing the sample video.

Not sure if anyone else is having that issue, but the above is what I'm having to do.

This product sounds good on the surface however huge alarm bells for me the name Sean Donahoe his track record is very disturbing and as others have said above makes me nervous about buying ANY product he releases.

Already folks on this have hiccups in a lot of things and mobile responsive seems not working and out the window on it - yet his video and frankly as usual spill he spins says it works fine...

Sean is so often full of hype in all his launches indeed in this one his video he said "I spent tens of thousands of dollars developing this
    Oh really?
    (Jeez...P L E A S E .... give us a break Sean ...don't insult our frigging intelligence)

Plus his promo video you can't even see the screen its so small when he builds stuff he's showing you so none the wise he does not bother zoooming in at any point it is so small you learn nothing and totally put me off

He seems to have copied colored crayons own builder folk are saying - gosh, if so, again hmm, alarms bells repercussions down the road maybe....

The biggie - though has to be said HIM... his darn personal history to date and support is often awful and non existent time after time with his stuff! From delay tactics and huge criticism throughout forums on this forum let alone and many others blimey with everything he does..begs the question, why is this going to be any different?
Nope not for me how you do one thing is how you do everything....

    My best to you all.

I've had excellent support from his Rapid Mailer Product. They even followed up when I forget to reply to their response. I can't speak for anyone else, but maybe he's ironed out the support issues over time?

Maybe, but I've been waiting a couple of days now for a response for one issue I'm having. Not a huge problem, but you'd think as much money as this guy makes, he'd have a better support system set up. Instead, he decided long ago (apparently) to skimp on that.

I was watching a video of his where he says that he works from home. I guess his support people are outsourcers? Maybe it depends on which one yet get.

Someone I trust sent me an email that flat out says -- PB is not Sean's, it's for sale on (I think) theme forest for $22, and none of it is responsive.

Any or all of that true?

I receive the "same" email. The answer is Yes and No.

There is another version of the same plugin (probably the original) in codecanyon. It's for sale for $22. However...

    - it is one site license
    - it has less features
    - it doesn't include IM ready to use templates
    - It doesn't include the theme (at least I guess it doesn't...)

Nevertheless some modules related to dynamic content like posts seem to work fine into codecanyon plugin and not so ok into PB plugin - waiting for PB support about this.

About responsive functions, it is not perfect but it is responsive. You may need to hack some lines in CSS to make it flawless.

I tested their sales page on my newish Sony android and the only issue is the big yellow 'click here to get profit builder'. The text fails to re-size.

The only other product of Sean's I have purchased is Rapid Mailer and so far he has been updating and bug fixing.

I know nothing of Sean's product and support history but maybe he has turned a corner.

Rapid Mailer and Profit Builder are killer products.... if he sticks with them.

Yes, the original product is Frontend Builder. I've owned it since it could barely walk and watched it grow over the last year. As I've said it's pretty solid and quick, especially when compared to something like Visual Composer, which I also have.

The original authors of Frontend Builder have an API for developers and with Envato you're allowed to also sell your product nonexclusive to them. It would seem most of the current problems stem from the additional new features Sean has tacked onto the plugin. Most of which are there to enhance the IM user experience. He really only needs to concentrate on smoothing those out.

Personally, Sean might have added a little more integrity to his offer if he lowered the hype a notch or two about years in the making and tens of thousands invested to build PB and just gone ahead and given some credit to the original developers. Can't figure out why he would believe we wouldn't find out? That's not to say that there still isn't a substantial effort in time and money made here to bring Profit Builder to the public.

Just a side tip, I tested the included theme, but found it to be a bit clunky. You're just as well off to use the plugin with one of the included WordPress themes, or any simple theme with a good header and footer area. I ran into some conflicts trying to use the Genesis framework and child themes with font control.

So, what's the real value with using Profit Builder?

    1) For little more than twice the price of Frontend Builder, you get a developers licence to use that product which also includes some enhanced features on as many sites as you want.

    2) The 60 some odd templates included. This gives you a real jumping off point to use them as is or modify them with PB and gets your website up and running as quickly as possible.

Oh, and thanks cjseven for the excellent recommendation on Microthemer. That's a plugin everyone should have in their arsenal.

    edit............
Just to confirm, someone asked about Profit Builder within the Frontend Builder comment area on Codecanyon.

    Hi,

This Gentleman actually has Premium License to distribute Frontend Builder. This is the same product.

So is there anyone else who has bought or is considering buying the actual core product that Profitbuilder is built on? (Frontend Builder on Codecanyon?

Even though PB has some additional bells and whistles and templates....what's that all worth if it's all completely unsupported and not updated? Or is it now?

Can you people who still hold onto PB please tell me if the product has had the same change logs like Frontend Builder itself? Who is looking after maintaining and upgrading PB if it's not the developer of the underlaying product (Frontend Builder)?

Can you also tell me if PB has had the left sidebar (the one with the modules) removed, just like Frontend editor has, due to issues with WP v. 4.1 which apparently messed things up?

I had PB refunded early on....but now looking for an actual drag and drop front-end builder plugin.

Considering Frontend Builder, or Live Composer, and others like Visual Composer.
I have read a few critical voices saying stuff about bad code left behind if any of these type front-end editors are de-activated...with shortcode left in there. I am referring to a recent article by Chris Lema.

What would you go with and why, if you were looking for a WP page builder today?

I made a decision late last year to go all in with Thrive Themes. Which includes Thrive Leads, Landing Pages and Content Builder. I have not regretted the choice. Everything is there to build, deploy, WP websites and capture customer leads.

The reasons for my decision are pretty simple.

        1) Get off the treadmill of the next best thing and concentrate on well supported reliable tools.

        2) Shane and company have really stepped up their game in quality of product and support. Answers are given in minutes usually, not days, on the support forum.

        3) I don't get bombarded by nonsense affiliate offers unrelated to why I was doing business with them in the first place. Just the opposite, emails consist of informative ways to further my business and how to use their products effectively. I don't feel like I'm just on somebodies mailing list because I once purchased something and now I'm gullible enough to accept anything that comes to my inbox from them. While they move on to the next hot idea to sell me.

        4) Updates and improvements are non-stop with Thrive Themes.

        5) Thrive Themes is a real business that concentrates on a core mission with a clear focus on trend setting software that they developed. They are all in on what they do best.

The last point is how I will gauge any future vendor and purchase.

          x2 Totally agree.

ThriveThemes is a solid long-term investment.

And instead of webinar invitations to push more shining objects we get personal invitations to talk directly with the owner about making products better - they know what they are doing to keep customers.

I have used Sean's demo version and the original demo version from the creator on CodeCanyon. First thing I noticed was Sean's version offered more option for adding videos. The version on CodeCanyon appears to be only good for YouTube videos, unless there is some other way I could not see - I left a comment for the developer to respond to.

Going on past experience with Sean's sales tatics I would have bough the version on CodeCanyod but I have to admit Sean's version look like a great time saver, because I have tried building similar lead pages with Genesis themes and believe me they take quite a while to get right. So at the price he is selling it's well worth it considering the time and effort I would spend trying to create my own.

I purchased and have been playing around with it for about 6 hours now. The builder is solid, though a bit disappointed that there are no images included due to royalty rights... a bit misleading when you see all these wonderful templates image ready and you load up a blank template with a few well placed blocks for content.

It's easy to use and farily intuitive but I cant get my Getresponse ar to work with it... Huge problem. When I put the html code in the area for it it does not recognize (in the form field area) so it does NOT work. I tried over and over. Then I was thinking well maybe I will buy the Ultimate Bundle which includes the Rapid Mailer but then I am thinking what if that doesnt work either. So I am debating on asking for a refund or buying the Ultimate Bundle.

Has anybody been able to get the optin to work with GetResponse? I concerned about Rapid Mailer not working either and the fact that I saw a bunch of posts here about Rapid Mailer problems....

I got rapid mailer to work great using Mandrill.com. I gave up trying with Amazon SES.
The only thing you have to do with Mandrill (that you won't find anywhere in the instructions, is to use PORT 465 as your SMTP port under the configuration tab.

Yes it is responsive, BUT looks very poor. Sad because when Sean demos it, he claims it responds perfectly, and then when he goes to show you, he skips FAST over all the problems with how it responds.

The main issues are with text, a perfect example is a button with text on 2 lines on a mobile. The lines sit on top of each other and looks HORRIBLE. Also there are elements that do not look right on a mobile.

There should be a function to have elements not appear on a mobile. That would solve that part. And for the text, thats just lame, poor thought out.

If mobile matters to you, you will not be happy.

Ofcourse YOU have to modify the themes with content as you see fit, - duh!
Shorten the text length and use the screen simulator button (top right of screen) to see how it looks on iPad, mobile etc, them adjust your text size, simple really

I completely disagree, there is no reason for the text to be overlaping. You shouldn't have to make your line of text shorter to compensate for poor coding.

Everyone experiencing "non-responsive" text - especially headline text. This is not a problem with the plug-in. All you have to make sure to do is click on "custom text size" then size it as you want it then MAKE SURE that you set the line height to the same value. That solved the "issue" for me completely.

I guess 1 solution might be to just make a separate mobile site using some other builder, then do a redirect - like everyone did before themes became "responsive."

1- Yes it works with contact form 7 and other shortcode plugins.

2- Microthemer instead of PB? Did you check what microthemer is? Microthemer could be a great tool to "adjust" CSS on profit builder or any other theme.

After pasting in the YouTube url, press your space key on your keyboard and then press the backspace key to get rid of the space. I don't know why it works that way, but that's how I get the video url to load from YouTube after pasting in the code.

Yesterday and today I experienced an abnormal slowness in my sites. I desativate PB and things got normal. I checked PB website and it took also much time to load.

So... I guess the plugin "call home" even after activation - which is not cool because that way we depend on "Sean's" server performance.

            Thanks cjseven,

The two vids are my own. I hope they'll play outside of Youtube.

I know ProfitBuilder is real slow. That's probably the problem. That's driving me crazy too. It was only $50 but I was already doing a lot of what it does in Photoshop, so I don't know.

Do you think they'll get the insects out in time?

I get no issues with your videos. They play ok.

I hope so... I think PB is a cool tool to build modern websites fast, specially for "no special design talent" like me

It's not a separate plugin. If you have TCB, then you also have the Landing Pages. It's a 3 in 1 plugin now - Content Builder, Landing Pages, Lightboxes.

The point being that the comparisons being made on this thread are about the new landing pages feature inside Thrive Content Builder. No need for anyone to call it "Thrive Landing Pages". They are just another new feature inside TCB.

ABSOLUTELY PISSED right now. Trying to finalize a launch and this is unacceptable. Cannot have this happen pre-launch, much less during a launch.

Why are my pages messed up because it cannot verify my license?

            Unbelievable!

I have evaluated Thrive Content Builder and Profit Builder, and lets throw in OptimizePress. My conclusion, for me, is that Thrive Content Builder is the platform to go with because:
    1. High Performance - it will not slow down your website like PB does
    2. Reliable developers - they not only have a good reputation, they deliver updates and improvements
    3. SO EASY TO WORK WITH - It is by far the easiest page builder to work with

That being said they need to add more templates, and the ability to add WordPress menu's to pages. But I am sure they will get there soon enough.

When Thrive builds up some more templates, it will be the best on the market by far (for landing pages. It already is the best as a front end WP editor). Much more reliable support and just an all-around great product.

Thrive seems to be wonderful and support A+ but I guess I will stick with PB for now - enough of shinning objects

If someone is looking to buy thrive take a look to there "inside" pages. There is an option for "Thrive Themes Unlimited Yearly" that includes "all of our current themes and all themes and Thrive Plugins we create in the future" for just $87 - "unlimited number of websites that you personally own and operate".

I guess this includes "landing page" deal and for just more $20 yearly I think it is a better deal. Unless they are offering a better deal OTO.

We'll have a new batch of really nice templates for release by the end of next week, with more batches to come thereafter.

With regards to inserting menus - just today I was testing the widget element that will allow the insertion of menus (and the other 12 default Wordpress widgets). This widget element will be released at the same time.

As Joan mentioned, they're one and the same thing. We took a new marketing angle for this latest launch because the landing pages is our latest addition to the plugin.

With the theme and plugin on my site, it is CRAWLING right now. So I disabled the theme, and it was still horribly slow. Then I disabled the PB plugin and all of a sudden, my site was fast again.

      Will be refunding now.

Didn't realize that my sites that use PB could be rendered non-functional if PB can't phone home.

After experiencing frustration with this and other "modern IM products," I will never buy something that can disappear if the original vendor goes away. And they will ALL go away at some point.

This is a result of a poorly executed license authentication setup. Normally, there should be a grace period built into the process. So, if the authentication licensing server is down you still have a period of days in which to use the product fully functional until it locks you up. This gives the developer time to get their service backup and online.

Any plugin that requires you to enter a license key will call home for verification. The scheme isn't unique to PB. The problem is how PB has implemented it. Sean also, seems to be relying on too many vital customer services on one server. When the server is offline his whole network goes down including support.

A lesson to marketers, keep your offers on one server and your support on another. That way if one or the other goes down, you always have a way of publicly addressing the issue.

Thrive has basically the same options as PB with their Video element. You can do an embed in the Text element to insert Amazon S3 video links.

I just got today's update installed on PB and it seems to have sped up all my sites considerably. However, I have yet to really deploy anything with PB with all these issues.

Yesterday's update broke the default fonts on the templates. Anybody else have this problem?

What do you expert from the likes of Mr Sean Donahue and his entire AWFUL track record to date - fact is his stuff is always full of hype and then countless problems people experience with it as soon as they buy and ongoing!

And his support is always virtually non existent. I said this way back on page 1 of this thread (let alone many others!) here we are well into a week later ....and dare I say it....as I predicted tons of ongoing problems and complaints...and the bet he ignores you on support all coming true!

Yep, Like I said when first posted my comments on him HOW you do one thing is how you do EVERYTHING....
(leopards changes spots and er, um.... all that!)

Nope me thinks Thrive seems way, way better and fab support
The video on the sales page (unlike Seans awful one on his sales page) Thrive clearly zooms right in to show you the interface and change and build things
I just need to find out if Thrive ironed out a few initial gremlins when first launched - see folks page build examples would be nice and I'll purchase that

Yeah, of course - we are working on a library of templates at the moment, the first batch due for release at the end of next week.

We're really taking a long time over these templates to make sure that they're primed for conversions. This means paying attention to the finer details above and beyond just making an attractive design.

It means not just providing a template, but also sample sales copy that you can quickly modify to get your product up and selling as soon as possible.

With this in mind, we won't rush into pushing out batches and batches of templates in the next few weeks. We'd rather launch 10 templates or so at a time, but really spend time on them and make them perfect.

So you can expect a steady stream of templates over the coming months rather than 50 templates immediately next week.

          Hi Paul
Fancy meeting you here! I guess TCB has got a lot of coverage out of this

For anyone that's wondering about Thrive Content Builder, I can say I've had it for a few months but only in last few days got around to using it (alongside ProfitBuilder - just to decide whether to hang on to PB or bail out now).
There are things I like in both plugins, some things are easier to use in TCB and some things easier in PB - PB has all the flashing lights whereas TCB is more subtle but it will get the job done.

True there are a lot less ready made templates in TCB but you are able to modify a preset landing page and save it as a new customised landing page, repeat the process as many times as you want, so in reality 5 templates is plenty as a starting point.

If you look at the 50+templates in PB there is probably less that 10, the other 40 are duplicates that have been modified in various ways

I think it took me about an hour to watch the TCB training videos and build a landing page with TCB that was identical to the landing page on the PBbuilder website

One area where TCB is very strong is support, within 1 hour of raising a query in the thrive forum I had a reply from Paul and not long after another two support staff had also replied to my post - light years ahead of PB support

          Lee

Some suggestions for Thrive that I didn't found or aren't there:

    - define default fonts for general and headings - to avoid to check font type all the time
    - more options for features boxes with icons (round icons with backgrounds, ...)
    - define colors without CSS editing (hovers, ...)
    - possibility to move "option box". When we don't have an header and we add an element to the top of the page, we can't see what we are doing.
    - possibility to manage rows better: paddings, margins, css classes, full width rows with background color.
    - possibility to add events / animation to other elements.

I must say that I still prefer PB system and functions but I also made a bet on you.

      - possibility to add events / animation to other elements.

I must say that I still prefer PB system and functions but I also made a bet on you.

      - more options for features boxes with icons (round icons with backgrounds, ...)
      On its way

      - define colors without CSS editing (hovers, ...)
Also on its way, although we should be specific here. You can change the colour of anything using the custom colour picker, just not yet for hover effects. Our default colour palette gives 8 possible colour schemes that all come with hover effects.

You can do any of this - it sounds like you don't know how to use all the elements in the builder. Give me an example of a page you're trying to build.

4- Not yet. I've just bought it.

5- I'm trying to build a page with a full width row (wrapper) with a dark background. Inside that row I want a ~960 width container with two columns (video + optin). Those columns should no have any padding or margin between them.

        Something like this:

6- Until now couldn't find a way to add events to text elements styled list elements.
I understand we can insert those text elements inside a content box and then add the event though. But you are right I still don't know how to use everything

Look... I'm not trying to promote PB or Thrive. I bought both and as a not talented designer both tools will help me a lot. Well... Thrive is giving more hope though... thanks to your feedback and help in the members area.

I have both products, In My Opinion....

    - TCB is easier in using then PB.
    - What a Normal Marketer needs TCB is providing.
    - Good Support and they are stick with it.

The only issue i am getting with the TCB, they are not providing a free theme (like PB is giving) which we use for creating landing pages, PB is giving you option to work with your existing theme which TCB is not giving.

So its my Request to TCB, if you are not interested in giving a basic theme free with your Editor, please provide at least a template for completely blank page, so we should work with our existing theme.

Also we need a support for one-click installation of our pages in FB Custom Tabs.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, here.

Haven't you seen the new landing page templates and the blank template that's included there?

Furthermore TCB works with any Wordpress theme.

Yes it works but when i want a totally blankpage, i have no option for this how can i manage this. PB is giving a free theme for this purpose in which u have controls to switch off headers, footers, sidebars and etc.

May be I am doing mistake can u guide me if i want totally blank page or post for designing a sales page landing page or optin page, what steps should i take.

This bugs me a bit. There's a commercial out right now with a young woman entrepreneur expounding in a quick shot; "if you mess up fess up." Good words to live by.

The font size issue is solved but somehow they didn't resolved the default font issue.

My theme has a specific font and PB forces "open sans, serif".

To resolve temporarily I removed this line:

    font-family: Open Sans, serif;

    file: functions/font_head.php
    line: 67

Yes, that's true, you can't animate text or bullet points. What would be the typical use case for this?

The question that we always ask ourselves before building something is "is this feature going to boost conversions and make businesses more money?". If we can't categorically say yes, we question whether it should be included. Animating text and bullets is questionable in this regard - but if you can convince me otherwise, I'm always more than happy to listen and we'll build

Fancy meeting you here! I guess TCB has got a lot of coverage out of this
    Hello Lee - it's a small world!

True there are a lot less ready made templates in TCB but you are able to modify a preset landing page and save it as a new customised landing page, repeat the process as many times as you want, so in reality 5 templates is plenty as a starting point.
Wait another 7 days But yes, we realise that the number of templates is currently lacking, that's why we did an early bird release.

I think it took me about an hour to watch the TCB training videos and build a landing page with TCB that was identical to the landing page on the PBbuilder website
Good to hear someone watches them - Took me ages

One area where TCB is very strong is support, within 1 hour of raising a query in the thrive forum I had a reply from Paul and not long after another two support staff had also replied to my post - light years ahead of PB support
Glad to hear that the team did a good job for you.

I just built my first page with Thrive and I must say, it was pretty easy. I did run into some problems, but I think it bugs in the software.

I will say, it was pretty fun creating the landing page. I wanted to build one of those "hello gate" pages that are very popular these days. It came out EXCELLENT and only took 20 minutes or so!

Thrive is lacking though on dedicated mobile responsive options. I would like it if I could have an element not show on mobile devices, OptimizePress is the only landing page builder that I have seen this in. I can do it in CSS, but its a pain.

As for the Thrive Themes themselves, they are nice, lots of features, but there are lots of little CSS quirks on mobiles. Things that don't make sense to have.

What is happening with Profits Builder seems to me to be a classic case of launching without proper beta testing (something that Mr. D has been accused of before, I recall).

It is no good letting the developers test it - they are too close to the code. Also it's no good just giving it to a handful of people some of whom will not bother using it.

Now we are seeing the developers fixing one issue and, in doing so, creating a new one. This happens a lot in highly complex products with lots of features. Now this would not matter if the product had not been released and it was just 100 or so beta users being inconvenienced. The problem is that there are many people who are paying customers and, quite rightly, they are impatient and annoyed.

Hence ticket backlog and slow support. Example: I had 3 sites working flawlessly and then, yesterday, deployed a new one & hit the icon/font error. So, after doing all I could I added a ticket about it. I did not get an email telling me that the issue had been fixed. Another ticket in the system delaying support. (BTW: my workaround was cloning a site that was working and over-writing the problem instance using WP Clone)

Now, as it seems this thread has been hi-jacked a bit by Thrive's marketing department, I would like to balance things out a bit.

I have also had particularly awful experiences with Thrive support with tickets never getting properly resolved (shame, as I have sent quite a number of affiliate sales in the past and, if I remember, even won a launch contest prize a while back).

It is easy to bash Donahou. just don't think that the grass is quite as green on the other side of the fence as it may appear.

I jumped in this thread because people were talking about the Content Builder with incorrect information. Ever since then I've been responding directly to questions that people have had about the product.

Undoubtedly you'll have noticed that none of the product / Sean bashing has come from me - I've only been addressing questions about my own product.

Absolutely. Sorry if that is what my post inferred. My point was that the thread seems to have gone a little "off topic". People coming here to read reviews or views about Profits Builder are having to scroll through a lot of unrelated posts about the Thrive product.

Perhaps, given the amount of interest, a new thread can be started with the topic of asking about your product.

    Hi all,

I really interested in Profit Builder or Thrive. Based on review, Thrive seems to be a solid platform but miss templates which are coming soon... Looking at the Thrive's website, the plugin looks simple opposed to Profit builder, which the sales page and interface looks more modern.

I'm about to do a launch and need one of these plugins. I use Optimize Press 2.0 but I need to get more licenses. As the plugins are cheaper I was wondering what do you guys suggest, Thrive, Profit Builder or get more license for Optimize Press?

Have any of you used the plugins to do a Launch Sequence?

    Thanks!

Full of bugs. Keep an eye on your disk usage, something isn't working and it's creating huge files (130-150 mb) named 'core' on my server. The many of the templates won't download and spin endlessly - which is what I think is creating the core files.
The Typography option in the plugin goes to a 404 page.
Grrrrr Sean Donohue. I've refunded more than I've kept of SD plugins because they are always buggy. 3 weeks and 3 days and counting......

I just checked my server/vps and notice none of the problems you mention. May be a problem with your server configuration?

No issues with core dump files either but I know what you are talking about.

That should be a server issue or wordpress configuration. Increase your WP memory. It could help. Add this in the first lines of wp-config.php.

      /** Memory Limit */
      define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '96M');

... and check your php version. I think I read somewhere that minimum to run PB is 5.3

My typography pages are ok too.

I messed around for 3 days and in the end I moved to thrive. It may not have the bells and whistles of PB but it works. Getting a good price as an early adopter doesn't cover 24 hours of messing around. Still waiting on a response to a 4 day old ticket.
If I don't refund I may have another look in a couple of weeks.
I'd set the memory to 128mb in the php.ini - that didn't work. I'll try your wp-config solution next time. Thanks

The "wp-config.php solution" is nothing abnormal. There are plugins, themes and WP installations that need more memory to work. I think WP default is 40MB which is very low to run "intense" plugins or themes.

I read this whole thread, as I bought PB yesterday (have not installed it yet).
With regard to comparing to Thrive CB, I can't help but remember that there was one major aspect I didn't like about it (I bought it a few months ago but got refunded):
The content you create with Thrive is separate from the WP system, i.e. when you open the post or page created with TCB, in WP (edit) it is actually blank. This means, if something happens to TCB or you disable the plugin or you want to reuse the content on another site but decide not to use TCB, the content will not be in WP. At least that's how I recollect it, perhaps they have changed things in the meantime. Can somebody confirm where the content created with TCB vs. PB will be stored in case either plugin fails or if you choose to no longer use it without completely losing all content?

I asked Paul private message same thing can you use tool bar in wp editor and third party icons add on's with Thrive waiting for his reply.

As really important when building a page if you use wp editor can you switch in between Thrive or even Profit Builder and using wp editor tool bars same time?

For example, many plugins hook into the native WP editor and as such add their own buttons to the editor toolbar, enabling their functionality.

Easy video player suite etc I use a lot is one and several others add their icons to the WP tool bar and hence need to be able to use them and Thrive or any other content builder was pure curious if Profit Builder allows this ok?

With Profit Builder you can switch between the PB and WP editor. If you are editing content using PB then there is the option to type your content right into the PB editor or open the WP editor.

You need to remember that PB uses short codes so if you remove the plugin the content will still be there but the layout formating will go south and the html will still have all the shortcode in it.

So yes, what about search engine indexing? Will all content be found, crawled and indexed just like content created using WP core, using any of these front end page builders?

I guess, blog pages are more important to be ranked than the type of static pages usually created by these content builders. I was just concerned about the content itself, i.e. where does it get stored and what would happen if the content builder plugin was deactivated. So thanks for the replies so far.

Well the content appears to be stored in the same way as normal blog content (in the database). So I really can't see why there would be a problem getting indexed.

On a test domain I loaded a couple of templates from PB, they all have dummy content

I then de-activated the plugin and theme.

The content remains but you obviously lose all the formatting until you re-activate the plugin and/or theme.

That has nothing to do with how it is viewed, only how it is stored. So there are no issues with SEO or any of that stuff.

All front end page builders have this same dilemma. It's the same with OptimizePress and Profit Builder, and the others as well.

The only one that doesn't have this problem is Velocity Page, BUT their front end builder is very limited, lacking on elements, there are essentially no elements at all. Also it is not being aggressively developed, seems more like a side project for them.

There are several third party countdown timer plugins that work quite well. The countdown element included with PB is an addon by Sean to the Frontbuilder core which he is using. Like much of PB's options it has yet to be all ironed out.

TCB has a countdown timer, but it only contains a redirect at the end of the countdown. There is no evergreen option. You will find the same with many of the popular builders like Visual Composer and its third party addons.

It would be wonderful it PB was the Swiss Army Knife of WordPress Builders for marketers, but for now you may want to pick up this functionality, with the features you need, by purchasing an additional premium plugin.

I get a reply but no solution... Support say to "hang on there" because they are killing bugs.

The counter is not the most important element but it is annoying that doesn't work.

I will give it a few more days and hope they start rolling out versions that really fix issues and bugs.

The sofware is great but they need to fix those issues. If not, refund.

Or perhaps just use a blank page template and work with shortcode generators or drag and drop content builders without the bells and whistles. Just today I was referred to this plugin by the developer of the theme I am using. I actually had this installed some time ago, but had deleted it along with a previous theme.

Is there no member forum that Sean set up for purchasers of this product? That would be very useful...so that people can exchange experience and help one another.

I don't understand why the PB is not even listed in the Kayako support page as a product in the knowledgebase, and when you do a search there, it does not even show any results?

Do you think he's telling the truth when he states in this (JV) video that he employed an 'additional six support staff'?

Sean has certainly had his challenges with WP Profit Builder. I purchased it on Day 1 and yes I have had issues with it. But I do understand that with the low price point comes with it a period of 'software settling'. That being said, I must mention that I do not agree with there being a 'settling' period. I just have no choice to accept it at this time. (Well actually I do. I just would have to pay a higher price and delay the purchase :-) )

Nevertheless, it has satisfied my immediate requirements quite well.

I had some time to play around with PB yesterday and I have to say that it really works well - at least for me right now - and I'm impressed with just how easy it is to make a terrific looking site. Parallax, thumbnail/photo animations, etc.., are a snap! I'm liking it more and more.

The only issue I saw when messing with it is the icons are a little "off" and they don't look good at all in some browsers (namely, some versions of IE, but good in Chrome and Firefox).

Someone mentioned before the text looking crammed up together in responsive mode, but PB has a simple solution to set the "Line" in pixels. Worked for me.

Anyhow, I've bitched about this product some in previous comments - and ragged on SD (well deserved, too) - but right now I'm definitely happy I purchased this. Hopefully, he fixes these other issues before too long.

bought the launch pad and It does not work and support is way too slow. When they say it takes 48-72 hours, it really does take 48-72 hours.

I tried using the launch pad to set up a site on a subdomain. Got an error. Contacted support. Got a reply 2-3 days later telling me the launch pad does not work on subdomains.

No problem I thought, got an addon domain and tried using the launch pad, got the same error. Sent a reply to my ticket 2 days ago. Still no reply, hope they get back to me before the 72 hours end. This is quite frustrating.

Will post an update once this is figured out.

    Not happy is an understatement.

I don't see value in launch pad. It is some kind of autoblog isn't it? Those "click a button, get a site" solutions don't work anymore unless you want to spend time creating sites full of non-sense.

You can save some time implementing the website but you will lose it checking out all the content that is automatically uploaded.

Ranking and promoting a "normal" website is a challenge today. Ranking and promoting a "autoblog" website is a waste of resources - just waiting for Google Slaps.

Its not an autoblog at all. Its supposed to set up the blog for you with all the plugins and all the settings set to optimize the site. Sure you can do that manually but I ran into some issues there as well. Contacted support and well, no need to talk about their response.

Now I thought the launch pad would be the easiest way to get it set up right the first time and skip support, that's when I ran into the launch pad issues.

I think this software will be great once it starts working like its supposed to.

Ok. I though you had to insert keywords an then it would pull some articles from the web. My mistake then.

The easiest way I found to save timeduring setup is to install a LAMP server in loalhost (I use AMPPS similar to softwculous - it is free), then I add all my premium plugins, themes, and plugins from WP repository, including duplicator.

I create several different installs (AMPPS has a clone feature which is great) and then create different packages with duplicator.

When I have to deploy a WP installation, I just choose one duplicator package and that is it. 5 minutes max I my setup is online.

What you're describing is over my head. Do you know of any software that can create good customized sites similar to what SD is selling? I was looking for something like that when I found this software and i bought it the day it was released and so far its been an awful experience. All I got was a software that doesn't work, extremely slow support, and 10 sales emails a day. Did I mention the upsells that never end?

Since purchasing PB a few days ago, I keep getting emails from SD...either affiliate promotions or links to his blog posts. Today's post is interesting...especially since I was thinking the same thing as the people who left him comments under the blog post:
Creating Your First Sales Funnel: The Moment of Truth

I am really missing pro-active communication by SD with the purchasers of his product/s, but it seems he prefers to sell something and then just starts one-way autoresponder communications on unrelated stuff. Apart from the comments under his blog post, another way to look at this is: He seems to spend lots of time writing blog posts and pushing other stuff once you bought something so that he has your email address, but there seems no time for prompt and effective support, going by what others have been reporting, and no interest in bringing people together and answering questions publicly by setting up a members forum.

On a positive note, just going by the tutorial videos inside the members area, I quite like the capabilities of PB. Will soon play with it myself...have been tied up on other things, so just watching the tuturials was time consuming enough.

My experience is different. I am finding it a joy to use. I haven't found any bugs since the last update that fixed the icons & styles problem that was seemingly only created when something was fixed earlier.

Had to jump in and give my experience with PB thus far. So far, so good. I find it very easy to use and it has not been buggy at all. Of course I waited until the updates came out to use it, I wanted to give the developers time to get those initial bugs out. I would say that PB and VideoMakerFX have been my two best purchases in terms of IM tools this year. As a side note, from my vantage point, VideoMakerFX kind of set a standard in terms of meeting expectations, support and true usefulness. Any way thumbs up for PB in my humble opinion.

Ditto. It's been working great for me as well, and yeah, OP2 works great now also, but when I first purchased OP2 I got a refund on it within only a few days. OP2 was sluggish and annoying for me to try and use when it first came out.

None of these builders start out perfect, but PB is well worth the investment, imo. And so is Thrive, and OP2 (a year later for me).

And because of it's success, Sean is apparently more on the ball this time to fix bugs and get those worked out more quickly. It's Sean's biggest seller, and has outsold Rapid Mailer by 2000 copies (so far), and #8 best seller so far on JVZoo.

If you can afford it and you set up a lot of sites, you should get all of them. They each have their own style and come in useful for different effects and purposes you will try to achieve in IM at different times.

What do I do now? Is this really necessary and recommended?

EDIT: I just checked ... it actually states in the cPanel of the site that it is running on PHP version 5.3.27 - so how come this plugin would state otherwise ???
Get in touch with support. I remember reading or hearing on one of the webinars that some were having issues where the plugin wasn't detecting the correct version of PHP on the server.

I think they have a fix for it.

Thanks...that is one example that illustrates how important a member forum is...so that one can find instant solutions previously covered, rather than submitting more support tickets and hoping for a reply.

I just checked on my host's member forum...there was one support request submitted TODAY that had the exact same thing happened to them (on another plugin)...quoting the same older version; the support person suggested to "log into your cpanel, go to PHP Version Manager, choose the folder you want to switch the php version for, and then select the version of PHP that you want to use." - but before I do anything stupid, I added my question there why the 5.3xx version shows up in cpanel, in the first place. Very confusing..

That's the problem. I accept that its a new software and will have bugs. The problem I have is that I'm not getting response from support. I'd appreciate something that tells me they are working on it or that it will take them an x amount of time to get to my ticket.

The first technical problem I had was that my license code was not appearing. I submitted a ticket. Waited a few days, and then ordered the it again using a different email a few days later, it had the code this time around. Then I got a reply from support asking me about my login information.

Second technical problem, I installed the theme but got a bunch of messages related to plugins I should have. Couldn't figure it out, contacted support and that's when I realized all these things would have been installed and configured if I had the launch pad. So, I thought the launch pad would solve the problem.

So, I tried setting up my blog on a subdomain. Got some errors. So, I sent in a third ticket. 2 days later I got a reply telling me in that the launch pad does not work with subdomains. I tried using it on an addon domain and got the same error. Replied to the ticket and still have not heard back, its been 6 days.

I honestly don't know what to do. They obviously are getting a lot of tickets and only have 1 support person.

As you're a member, I'd recommend asking questions like this in the support forum for the fastest response and to not derail this topic. That said, we are releasing a number of new templates tomorrow (Tuesday) in version 1.54 of the plugin.

I use both ThriveThemes and WPProfitBuilders (WPPB). What I like bout Thrive its fast load theme. But cons about it, only few templates. However PB is have lot of ready made templates and they are great templates.
Both are great. for early bird of WPPB I suggest just used it because what you getting for $47 are worthy.

I'm going Thrive for my blog and WPPB for sales page or membership site.

Thrive Content Builder is easy in use and its fast, very user friendly, if you only needs sales pages optin pages lead pages , thank you pages its best, works with every theme.

PB is good but not user friendly, options are mostly identical some options like which is not present in TCB like "Insert Pixel Code", "Sharing Buttons" are missing.

Any how my choice is TCB for fast and User friendly..

Both Thrive and WPPB you need to learn few things before you could used them properly. I stick to both because I know in future I will need these.

Does anyone know if thrive builder you can use the wp tool bar still when using Thrive to create pages?

I have tried several time to PM paj_mccarthy co developer here on warrior thread who comes and goes to ask him this specific question all gone ignored ....Hmmm!

Because various third party plugins utilize the standard WP tool bar in order to fully use their functions is the simple reason I ask (and indeed asked Paul but no response) several friends also want to buy .....but the issue is we DO need to absolutely often use wp plugins used by third party and their icons are ONLY mounted on the wp tool bar as short code they do not do.

***Anyone please kindly confirm it seems Thrive version right now still when building pages you cannot ALSO use wp tool bar and icons /third party plugin that use the wp tool bar....

It is a case of either use Thrive only to build create your page or wp you cannot work with both environments ?

    many thanks

Yes they came out with a plugin update but it did not solve my issues!

For example one is that when using the 'insert video' feature into a row..the video shows up fine but there is TONS of white space below it!

      Any suggestions?
Did you try changing the bottom padding of the row? You just hover your mouse cursor at the side of the video or row edge and click the edit icon, and then you'll see at the top of the side menu that comes out the padding options. Try lowering the bottom padding to "0".

This morning I got a reply to my ticket. The last time I heard from them was September 29th. The support person apologized for the late reply telling me she was off. In other words they have 1 support person, why am I not surprised.

Was asked for my login information for my different accounts. I replied right away with this information.

This is the morning of October 9th. Lets see how long it will take to get a reply.

But that cannot be....Sean clearly explains that he "thinks" they've hired at least 6 new support people....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crPDNswcQX0#t=119

I am aware of the video but seeing is believing. I almost asked the support person about that but figured I am more concerned with my stuff working properly than telling them they are lying.

I would have been happier if he just said the program was in beta and they are short staffed but I guess that would have made them lose potential sales in the short run.

On another note, have you guys all received a number of emails in the last few days with an invitation to attend another (the 'third') webinar conducted by SD today? It'll be 9pm for me being GMT+1 currently. Some of the other emails were already confirming my registration without having registered myself. I received a total of six separate emails in one day, some with messed up dates (for Nov rather than Oct).

This is an extract of one of the emails...

Just wanted to let you know that 1.1.9 was released 2 days
ago and we added a few minor issues and fixes
    ...

However, I will be the first to admit that our customer service
has been swamped due to the massive success of this launch
and even though we doubled the size of our customer care team
we are actively hiring and training more people...

So, to try and make everyones life just a little easier we are holding
another LIVE Q&A webinar Thursday for members at 12PM PST.

You should have received an email about this earlier today

Since we've been discussing Thrive Content Builder and their new landing pages quite a bit here, I'll spare Paul from looking like a thread jacker and announce that Thrive has just released 25 new landing page templates today.

They look really nice, and they have created them as sets so that there is some consistency in appearance and feel from the optin page to the confirmation page to the download page.

Check it with Google Page Speed Insights and see what that shows. And Web Page Test I think is probably the most accurate of all.

I've been using it for about a week and a half and I like it. Also there are no monthly payments which is pretty good considering a lot of builders like that if not most of them charging monthly.

I still can't insert a video with Profit Builder. Waited over the weekend for their customer support which still didn't solve my problem.
I have Thrive too, but I really want that Amazon plugin Profit Builder has. I'm scared to buy it since the vids don't work.

Does Thrive have an Amazon Plugin? If so, that will take care of all my needs. I really don't care about the templates.

This is the way it's advertised:
"Instantly create high-powered mini-stores on your pages and tap into millions of high-converting Amazon products all laced with your affiliate links. Just 1-Click and you have a page full of affiliate products..."
What it amounts to is you can bring in the Amazon products to your page.
I want to create my own template with lots of copy and my own videos and then add about 5 or 6 related Amazon products at the bottom of the page in some sort of nice boxes.

Since I have been using almost all of what is being discussed here, I thought I will provide my 2 cents..

    OP 2.0 -
One of the best and most robust ones, if you don't mind making changes - saving and closing - visiting the page to see how it looks - come back again and edit if not satisfied - do the entire cycle.
It is a little heavy on the pocket and even heavier if you want newer themes and want their membership.
In addition, yearly updates cost your additional. If you don't buy it, no updates which means that if WordPress releases a new version and the OP 2.0 plugin or, theme develops a vulnerability which is something that had happened with OP 1.0. That in turn means leaving you blog un-secured. (Would have at least wanted OP guys to be providing free updates to the platform at least.. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS)

    Instabuilder
Decent option for an OK price. Support and updates are FREE. A lot of templates and options available if you are not too finicky about using a new template for every page. Good support

    Thrive Themes
Shane has some nice products except that his Hybrid Connect is aging out since there has not been any updates in terms of templates or, flexibility and options.
TT is the simplest of all. Instantly see the changes that you make and you have a lot of flexibility. Lots of options and with him introducing a few templates, you have that option as well.
Updates and support is free and great. Shane has always been good with support.
TT has had a few issues with conflicts with some other plugins.

    Profit Builder
I loved the theme and the plugin option. So is their add on product Launchpad which can deploy Wordpress sites fast.
There are tons of options and just like Thrive Themes, you can see in realtime the effects that you edits have on your blog or, website.
Lot of templates to choose from which makes customizations easy.
Not too complicated if you are don't want to spend too much time fiddling with things and are okay with using the readymade template.
FREE support and updates. Updates have been regular until now and hence no problems.
SUPPORT IS WHERE I HAVE A SLIGHT PROBLEM. One of my support ticket took about 2 weeks to close and that too after writing to Sean directly on Facebook. But since then I have had no problems. Hopefully that will continue.
    Otherwise, the best option.

I have to concur with rdilipk1

I have been deploying sites using Profit Builder regularly now and, once you "know your way around" it is fast and easy to build some very attractive pages. It is a very powerful product and works great for me.
(BTW..Alice,I have had no issues adding videos. One thing I notice I have to do is when you post in the URL or embed code, hit enter)

Support is rubbish. So much so that there have been some marketers starting Profit Builder Facebook groups for their customers so anyone with a simple "how do I do this?" question gets a rapid and sensible answer from the peer group. . Now why, oh why, couldn't Mr. Donahoe have done that for all customers? Shows a bit of an uncaring attitude in my opinion and he should be a little ashamed that his affiliates have had to take the initiative. They clearly care about their customers more than he does.

So, providing it doesn't break for whatever reason and I don't need to contact support, I would say that it is a superb product and I am very pleased that I decided to grab it.

Actually, when 5 months from now comes, support will be really good and Profit Builder will be close to perfect. That is Sean's typical time-frame for getting everything rock solid. It would be nice if he could get in the habit of doing it faster, but that's how things are with him.

It's a great product. His best. I've been using it so much recently in fact that I deleted Optimize Press so I could use Profit Builder on those domains instead.

And now I have the opinion that not only is it better than OP2, but it is better than Thrive Themes as well. I can get things done with Profit Builder that would take much longer with the others, and the end look and result is just awesome with PB...very high impact.

Nothing else like it. Product Of The Year, imo.

(And if you look at my earlier posts, I was hesitant to buy it, ragged on Sean Donahoe quite a bit, and had a much lower opinion of this - but when proven wrong, I'll admit it, and I do admit being wrong about this product initially.)

          Joan,

Thanks a bunch to you and the others that have taken the time to provide your honest opinion and experiences with this product. Somewhat like you, I have been avoiding Sean's products at launch --> but after following this thread, and watching Romeo90's videos in the classifieds section, I decided to jump in. If all works as described I will be a happy camper.

          Best of luck to all!

Paleochora, do you know how I can find this facebook group? Eventually (few weeks after my ticket) support helped me set up a site using launch pad. Now the problem is that the site is way to heavy and takes about a minute to load. Support would probably help in about a month or so. I am sure after that issue is solved there will be another issue. I need need and support is not the place to get it.

      Thanks in advance!

I was a hesitant buyer too, Joan. Also, I did not promote it to my customers and subscribers because of that. I may re-think that in the coming days now that I am happy with using it.

Does Profit Builder offer the 2-step squeeze pages like Thrive does?
Yes. I think the only difference is that the fields roll out from the button rather than appear in a lightbox.

Thanks Joan, If you are making a landing page for a client do you have to keep the plugin installed as you would give away the source? How do you go about doing sites for client if you want it white label?

I believe in the FAQ that I read that you can Export your template.

Thought I would ask this here before I go through the long haul of support.

Is anyone who is also using the PB Theme having any problems with the site menu in responsive mode.

I wanted the top navigation/logo area a colour other than white so I changed the theme background colour to navy and the menu font to grey with hover colour to white. All fine and dandy.

However when I reduce the browser window in size or view it on a mobile the menu font remains black and there is no access to any sub menus.

Also is anyone having any problems using the mouse wheel to scroll down the page? It works sporadically for me. Scrolling up, no problem.

    Cheers

    Pete

Yes, I am having trouble with the side scroll.
I'm still trying to get help with the video insertion. I'm currently on my second support person and the fourth ticket.

But I really want Profit Builder because of their Amazon plugin.

    Hi,
After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase it and am happy I did! Once you play around with it for a little bit, it is very easy to use and I think the pages look awesome. So far I have built a few landing pages...so professional looking, using the provided templates. Well worth my investment.

BTW, Sean has hosted a couple of webinars just to answer questions since being swamped with support tickets...d/t sales volume, etc. I didn't know him prior to this launch but was very pleased to listen to a webinar for once that had ZERO sales pitches.

It is a private group just for people who bought through their links so, I am really not at liberty to openly paste in URLs.

I would load up a caching plug-in to your site. Personally, as I don't like to have too many plug-ins, I am now using Wordfence which is a great security plug-in that also has a pretty mean caching and performance functionality as well

No problem at all. I thought it was just a group for anyone who bought the software.

That being said, do you have a list of all the plugins you use? In the training SD talks about plugins to get it to be faster and all these plugins install automatically through launch pad. I use the launch pad to make sure I have everything I need. Maybe that's not the best practice.

      Thanks in advance!

I don't own "Launch Pad" so I really can't comment on what he puts in there.

I keep getting requests for how to integrate with GR. So here is how. Simply take your html code from GR and paste in the WP editor instead of in the form area of PB, now click save in the editor and it should recognize the fields.

Does anyone know if you can 'undo' an action in Profit Builder? I can't figure out how to do it.

Also, is it possible to save over a template? When you go to save, they don't list the templates you already have.
          {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[9642965].message }}

I have tried to undo as well. There is supposed to be a revision checkbox in the "screen options' section of Wordpress where you can see the previous 24 revisions of your site, but I couldn't find such a box on my latest version of Wordpress. Whether Profit Builder altered this or not - I don't know.

I have also had a couple of disasters with losing a page I'd been working on. If you press "Upload page" without closing down the page you currently have open, the new page you open will overwrite it.

For instance, I finished my Home page, and uploaded a sample page. When I next opened my Home page it had been overwritten with the sample page.

I get round this by saving every page as a template - that way if I accidentally overwrite a page I can always go back to my template for that page.

I'd also like a drag handle at the corner of the element so I can re-size them, so my page looks more balanced.

All in all, quite a good product, but it does have its little quirks and bugs, which you have to learn to get over with experience.

Best suggestion: make a jing video showing what you're doing and then open up a ticket at the help centre. It always gets answered faster this way and they can see what you've done. Also they will ask for access to your blog, save time, just set up a user for them.

    Really interesting thread, everyone!

A page builder I owned but completely forgot about until very recently was PT Instant. I fired it up a short time ago and was amazed by how easy it was to use. I feel like I've tried just about everything at this point. WP Sales Engine (which I really liked, until developer moved on), OptimizePress (great - but more of a learning curve for me).

I DO own ProfitBuilder as well - but may wait until the dust settles a bit before testing it out.

Paleochora - looking back at the PT instant page, it looks like there is a testimonial from you. I would love to get your take on a PT Instant vs ProfitBuilder comparison. Is PB a bit more robust?

I am amazed by all the thing PTI does - but I'm not sure you can make the page LOOK quite as snazzy as some of these other ones.

    -----

    One other small observation...

I am puzzled to see Sean as a prominent supporter/affiliate of the new Monkey Landing Pages tool. Isn't it basically like PB?? Seems strange to refer people to another tool if your own basically does most of the same things.

Perhaps I am missing something here?

WordPress - Frontend Builder - Wordpress Content Assembler | CodeCanyon

It looks like Sean bought an Extended License and added features to the code to work with Autoresponders and other systems. There's nothing wrong with this, btw. That's what Extended licenses were meant for at CodeCanyon. Just thought buyers would like to know.

PT Instant is a very good product & I used it many times. When it came out it did a few things nothing else was capable of.

Over time, I ended up using InstaBuilder more often. It had less bugs and was more versatile.

Well, if you look at the sales page that they use for Landing Page Monkey, it is built with Profits Builder. That really shows the limitations of LPM in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I think it is a great product but, with Instabuilder 2.0 coming along next week, I think people who invest in LPM will, maybe in some cases, be kicking themselves.

I made this clear in a video I put together yesterday for my subscribers & customers

It seems the whole landing page solution biz is becoming a bit overdone at this point. Especially when you consider that many marketers report their simple landing pages convert the best. It seems like the higher price point for LeadPages opened the floodgates.

At the end of the day, you don't want to get stuck with a dated looking landing page that promotes a yawner of an offer.

Yet another Sean Donahoe steaming pile of junk. I have had two of his products previously and both ended up in the 'don't bother... it will never work' pile. The video demo on this one looked pretty good so I figured I'd give him one more shot.

Problem 1 - Unlike his demo video, the Wordpress admin bar disappears when the editor opens.
Problem 2 - When I select a template to load it just sits there and spins forever.

That's three strikes for me - I'll never purchase a product from this guy again REGARDLESS of how good it looks in the promo video.

It's simple troubleshooting. And frankly solves 90% of the issues. You won't break anything and any data you have will still be there. When I was on the phones, my biggest peeve were folks that didn't want to first try to help themselves. Simply deactivate your plugins. Then activate one at a time, leaving PB till last.

Edit: Also...don't panic! Just take learning the ins and outs of PB one step at a time. It's VERY powerful, and jumping in and clicking (what watch videos? nahh....) is a sure path to frustration. You'll get the hang of it soon enough. I've played with enough of the competitors to know that this is the best one out there.

Well, I've finally had to admit defeat.

The Wordpress logo (top left corner of the action page) disappeared, so I couldn't get back to another page of my site without logging out of Wordpress alrogether and logging back in.

I tried to do a simple link from an image to another page - it made the page a sub page of another completely random page, so of I got a 404.

So all my work is down the drain.

My biggest gripe is that there's no support page on the Profit Builder website, and no users forum. Why should we have to discuss Profit Builder's shortcomings on a completely unrelated forum like this?

I receive a lot of sale pitches (aka spam) from that customer list too... It's annoying but it's not a big problem to me.

What I think it is a problem is when I open a ticket about a simple issue with fonts and I provide a solution and nobody cares... They answer, I reply, they answer again, I do some screenshots, they answer, I make a video, they answer, I send access details.... Finally they say they saw the problem and they will fix it but... They keep sending updates and they don't fix it.

I always need to hack the same file and code to be able to have my desired font. By default I only get "times new roman" no matter what I change in profit theme or other theme font definition...

For the price it is a very nice builder but development and support crew doesn't give me much trust - and this is essential.

The issue I find since version 1.04 or so is that default font I choose on any theme doesn't stick on PB contents because PB plugin has a line of code that needs to be deleted (or commented out).

The alternative is to duplicate font configuration. We need to config font in current theme and also in PB typography options - and this is not how it should be

We promoted Profit Builder for months after he fixed the initial bugs and it was running smooth, but since around mid-January refunds rose dramatically - I'm talkin a flat 50% of purchases - and also upsell purchases dropped to a new low. We recently quit promoting it. Too many refunds.

I have no idea what is going on with PB, but I'm guessing it's related to support. Not sure.

I just purchased a copy and got no email with login deets. Additionally this happened to a large number of customer on my lists when I had previously promoted products that also used Profit Builder on their sales pages. The common theme was Profit Builder + Jvzoo checkout combo, paid and then no user/pass was emailed. The refund rates went through the roof and I got so frustrated I stopped promoting anything that used Profit Builder and Jvzoo as that seemed to be buggy as hell.

Anyway, I will give them another few hours to get my login deets for the pro lic and the otos. Otherwise it will be refund time and lights out for ever promoting any product that uses PB to pitch products.

    Fingers crossed for both parties

Just had one of the most unintelligent, broken English and unhelpful replies to my ticket.
Beginning refund process now. I am not surprised the refund percentages on their products in JVZ are so high.

What a pathetic ordeal to have to go through for a WP plugin/theme.

Agreed. Great product, but the customer service is rubbish.

Bad customer service will kill any companies reputation and future launches. Get your CS wrong and you lose trust and die out.

As I previously mentioned, this has one of the highest refund rates I've seen for products in jvz. Makes sense too.

Had he spent more on proper CS then he would be making so much more in profits and a reputable brand for future launches.

          Major fail.

However, what I do want... is to upgrade from a one-site licence to a multi-site licence as trying to integrate my membership pages with my homepage sales has been a nightmare with the membership plugin I'm using.

So, I thought, I'll build another site and upgrade to multi-site licence - as I like the sales page on the site I've built and just link to the other membership site and no chance! No-one, anywhere, for support on this unless you want to pay $47 a month. I really think they're running their business like the Irish Ryanair Aeroplanes - shortly I'll be charged for going to the toilet. Honestly, you would think with the amount of flaff in emails you are sent and the hoards of videos that he bothered to do to promote it, that I can't be bothered listening to as they go on and on and on and on - that they would have least have thought of an upgrade button from single site to multi-site!! Come on - that's another $20 dollars in his pocket with just a click from me for an upgrade........

Poor poor customer service and if you really have a problem, then you'll get nowhere......

      Completely agree.

One of the best products I've ever come across for WP but completely let down by basic support. Need to employ the services of a WP expert just to iron out the bugs.

Shame, its such a powerful and wonderful piece of software too.

I don't understand that one but maybe he's made his money on it and is selling it or something. As there's a clear message to his customers of "I can't be bothered with you" or "I've found another toy to play with now" and when the CS goes like you said, then everything goes! I am starting to have these same sentiments as yesterday after updating the PB plugin it got deactivated so I re-acted then it disappears from the editor So although I cab still pull up ProfitBuilder to edit my front page there is no longer an option to put PBWoo elements onto my front page so now it shows raw code.. do you have any ideas on what I can do about this along with waiting on a support that seems to be lacking??

Odds are it's not PB, especially if you've got the new version, 1.5. Bluehost is horrible for stuff like this. It's why I moved to BigScoots. Much more flexible and no issues on the shared account I have. And they truly help you.

Boy....I have just reached the end of the thread, and was planning to finish my last sip of wine and go to bed, but I'm blown away by what I've read here. So, I've just refilled my glass, and I'm going to give you my experience with Profit Builder.

In a nutshell, I'm pleased with it. Initially, I was a bit put off by having to hunt around for serial numbers and so forth to register various softwares and bonus softwares, etc., but I figured it out.

Then using the actual profit builder theme and plugin. I watched the tutorials. Sean is obviously proficient with this software, so when he's showing how to do this, and how to do that, with his over-the-shoulder videos, he's flying, and it's bloody hard to see some of what he's doing! I can't tell you how many times I rewound the videos (lol), just to try and capture the screenshot....just so I could see what he clicked on etc., or to decipher what he said (his accent is clear to understand, just not always...lol). At the end of it all, I was pleased with the production.

Along the way, I did contact support. They responded, usually within the same day. If it was a Friday, I didn't hear from them til Monday. However, they were very eager to help, and solved my problems.

The Getresponse Autoresponder works seamlessly. Everything works the way I was hoping.

Would I recommend Profit Builder. Big Fat Yes.

In my signature, is the product of Profit Builder.

      Cheers All!

      Tony Brayley.

I'm still a huge fan of OP2 and use it for most of my sales pages, but I agree with everyone here that Thrive is a class act, top to bottom, and a real contender.

I've also backed away from Instabuilder 2.0 completely now (has too many quirky, odd behavior problems - and I don't think it's bugs, but just the way it is put together. I don't like it anymore.)

If Sean Donahoe could ever get it together with support (lofty wish, I know! lol), and if he could get it together on fixing bugs quicker (another lofty wish), he would be a real force to reckon with, but until that happens he'll always be considered just another d***head Internet marketer.

Profit Builder should have been Product of the Year on JVZoo, but Sean is unreliable, and consequently, so is Profit Builder.

That's a good point about Instabuilder 2.0. I thought the same thing myself and abandoned ship with it altogether. This brings up a main point or theme that's already been mentioned on this thread. If you're going to build a business, you need to purchase products from a company who's all in behind their products. The other option is to jump from one affiliate solution to the next as they appear in your Inbox.

All these new solutions seem to be here one minute and abandoned the next as the next latest and greatest product appears a few months down the line.

Does anyone know how to use Profit Builder as download page for a PDF?

I just want to have the squeeze page button direct the user to a download page that will say, "Thanks for signing up. Click the button below to download your PDF"

And when the user clicks it, the download starts.

Hi to all Thrive Content Builder users (cc: @paj_mccarthy)...quick question:

I created a test page using my theme's wide-page layout template that shows the header and top navigation menu, as well as the footer.

When I add content using TCB, namely content containers that I want to be stretching 100% so that I can create page segments with different background colors, they do not turn out fully stretched on the resulting page.

I noticed that the settings for the content containers on the TCB canvas has a setting where you can drag the width, but it only goes to 1680px ?

Could someone please shed some light as to what this means?

Unfortunately I don't have access to their support/member forum currently, and I only want to pay for access once this has been clarified, because if there is this limitation there may not be any point in renewing my membership. - Thanks heaps.

        Hi,

Can it be margin percentages or default values already configured? Perhaps if you set them to zero it will work.

        Cheers

Thanks for the reply. No, I don't think so...margins and padding = 0.
I am using my theme's wide-page layout and other builders' elements do get stretched all the way from left to right. Also the theme's shortcode element for a stretched page segment works fine. So I don't think it's the theme and I don't see how anything I would add to the TCB canvas would in fact NOT be limited to a max width...

          See here:
          Content box example
Look how the slider does not allow more than 1680px width, so it is not stretching out in full, leaving a gap on my screen.

I have previously added content containers and gave them some background colors, but they also did not stretch 100%.

Not sure how this is supposed to happen. But Thrivesupport via email is disappointing. They referred me to their support forum initially, and when I stated that I would need to renew my membership and would prefer to see this resolved prior to committing, he did give me a reply, but once only. After I posted my site URL as requested, there was no further reply. Sean has also been disappointing, as he did not reply to me reaching out on his Facebook page.

Sorry to say I can NOT recommend azon authority with profit builder lite.

Pros: Azon authority - post products. Good Idea. Grab products as it drills down the categories. Good way to focus on your niche.
Con: Posting products did not, still does not work for me. Big red X over the products as it tries to create posts.

Pro: The ASIN grabber lets you drill down to specific search results in amazon and pull all the ASINs from the search results.
Con: I got this option to pull products and create posts but it's cumbersome to go through it all and all the ASINs do not get pulled.

Pro: Support is good enough for me. I don't expect a reply right away. It took a day or two to respond.
Con: If you expect an immediate response for support questions you'll be disappointed.

Pro: PB theme looks nice, fairly easy to use. Add a row, add an element to that row. The site Sean created is nice and well designed.
Con: Editing the site with drag and drop pb theme DOES NOT WORK!

Con: Transposh translation plugin does not work.

I am running a dedicated server. I have two cpanels on it. One website per cpanel. I originally had php 4.3 updated to the latest php. No luck.

Done wasting my time with this..

Con: The constant deluge of sales attempts (spam) sent to my email. Granted what Sean is pushing might be of value and help marketers make money but when you have a product that doesn't work and you get pounded with sales pitches kinda makes one feel a bit annoyed. (Annoyed enough to write this post)
Also you're getting more sales pitches then you are support. On Boy! Seems that making money is more important than creating useful tools.

Pro: Sean's marketing looks nice and his instructional videos are spot on and very helpful. The videos are organized on a nice admin style web page and easy to access any time.
            Con: Product doesn't work.

Bottom Line: I'm not saying it won't work for you. There could possibly be something wrong with my setup or could possibly have some setting that's wrong but I did go through some support and it didn't help.

If you buy it and it works let us know.
If you buy it and it works and it makes you money let us know.

PS. Try "prosociate" it has the same amazon scraper as azon authority.

So let's be clear about what's happening here:-

You were asking for product support for a product that you haven't paid for. The only reason you have a copy of the software is because you purchased last year and then refunded, at which point you should have removed the software as per the terms and conditions...

    But you didn't...

One year later you are using the product (that you shouldn't have access to) and you believe that we should offer you product support that you haven't paid for.

Our product support technicians are in the forum, which you don't have access to, because (again) you haven't paid for the product.

Phone up Microsoft for product support. And when they ask for the license number, tell them that you've got a illegal copy of the product and that they should support you BEFORE you give them any money.

Why can't you see how ridiculous this is?

Finally, to cap it off, you blast our company over social media and in a public forum because you didn't get support that (again) you didn't pay for.

Frankly, you're not welcome as a customer any more and you're right to look into alternative providers.

      EPIC response. lol.

BTW, Thrive is looking really good. I don't know how I missed that launch. I would have jumped all over it instead of Instabuilder. I remember talking to Shane a few years ago about Nanacast and he was a really, bright guy. I've been keeping an eye on his products over the years and they're always top notch and extremely reputable.

I missed this reply and would have liked to respond earlier. I was having issues with the product when I originally purchased, got refunded and de-activated the product. I NEVER used it anywhere since! The only mistake I made was that I forgot to actually delete it.

When I realized it was still installed on that same trial site of mine a year later (still without being activated), it reminded me to in fact reconsider the product - at which point I wanted some validation of a concern I had PRIOR to committing to a new license and forum access.

This is also reflected in my post here:

Not sure how this is supposed to happen. But Thrivesupport via email is disappointing. They referred me to their support forum initially, and when I stated that I would need to renew my membership and would prefer to see this resolved prior to committing, he did give me a reply, but once only. It was a simple question (and NOT how you make this out to be "you believe that we should offer you product support that you haven't paid for" !!)- and rather to see this as your chance to turn me into a new full-paying customer again by quickly outlining how this one aspect could be done (essentially validating that the product is capable of what I needed - which is a PRE-SALES enquiry!), I was largely ignored, which irritated me. However, at no point did I "blast" your company over social media - that is complete BS, I asked for clarification of this one concern, and that was it!
Even in my post here I admitted that I needed a new license, so I was being very open and honest. But you just assume that I have been actively using the product in all that time, which is not true.

I am further irritated by your lack of good will and pre-sale customer service, and especially about your nasty response. This only underlines my previous experience. And frankly, you helped me decide against your product again, based on your attitude.

All the scripts are loaded. All the styles. Everything. Loads every time.

And it pretty much doubles the load time on my site. I've tested it with and without Profit Builder and PB easily doubles the load time.

Now, if they came up with a single function in there that checks if PB has been used on the page or not and then including the scripts that they include now everywhere in that case (otherwise, not include anything on all other pages), that would be a great product. But until they do that, forget it - it's bloatware.
Its true but you can decrease load time using caching systems and/with css/js minify. Isn't perfect but I wouldn't call it bloatware for that.

Thanks! Glad to know you're having a good experience with our products.

As for sales and promotions: we generally don't do that. You will definitely never see us do a massive price drop for no other reason than some seasonal promotion. In my opinion, that's just unfair to people who bought the products at their normal price.

As a general rule, the price you see right now on the website is probably the lowest it's ever going to be (price increases have happened about 2-3x a year so far, as we add more products to the membership and more value to individual products).

Well after my further rants and ongoing problems with Profit Builder, I thought I'd give it one last chance on a new sales page today.

It's even worse now! Since it's been patched several times it couldnt be slower.

All their support will do is blame other plugins or the server, but that's bollocks. There are no other plugins running and this is on another dedicated server of mine.

I tried to debug a lot of the causes of the major hangs and lockups and its all pointing at their horribly coded scripts.

I've had enough of this crap product and their support, or there lackof.

Everybody seems to be praising Thrive. Perhaps the chap from thrive in this thread can convince me via PM to buy it

I was looking for a content builder after I had purchased one quite some time ago, which shall remain nameless here. I'm glad I looked around and did my homework, the last thing I wanted to do was end up being the victim of another hot launch content builder with no support and no updates. What good is that? broken just doesn't cut it.

I wanted something that was awesome with great support and had the reputation of being updated. Something I could pay for once and use on all my sites as well...

I finally found all that with Thrive Content Builder. I won't lie, it does have a bit of a learning curve but what doesn't? I don't care how easy they say it is, there's always a learning curve. And when you can't get help and support and updates when you need them and things break...no thanks.

It's really too bad to see these themes and plugins come and go, because there are some really great products out there that could be epic with the right support and updates. Thrive gets that!

Great product, great support, updates, great training, great people. I'll pay for all that gladly. Because believe me, you will pay for it one way or another anyways. You're either going to keep buying the next great launch product, hoping this time maybe it'll be supported, or you'll do the research and make a better decision.

Just make sure you do your research, or use what the pros use. That's a great clue right there. Some of those tools are pretty spendy with monthly fees. If you're not ready for that, I say TCB is a great choice, it may not have the "all in one solution" but you can build pretty much anything with it if you want to. Besides, those "all in one solutions" usually find it hard to do everything really well anyway.

I know several marketers that actually make money use several tools. OP2, leadpages, megaphone, kajabi. Not to say I will never use any of those, but for me right now TCB is the bomb.

Glad I did the research and chose thrive overall!

    Good luck!

This public and unprofessional argument between the two of you has turned me off thrive too. Thanks for helping me make up my mind!

Typically new versions of plugins or any software are supposed to be better than older versions because they fix bugs and add features but what can I expect with Profit Builder?

@nicoli said that it couldn't be worse and slower now. I am still on one of early versions so I wanted to know which version in your opinion guys is more or less manageable. I don't want to install version with a lot of bugs that can't be ignored, neither I want to install version with too many fixes that slowed down plugin's performance.

        Thanks

How would product support be outstanding if product has same one-time payment model like Profit Builder?

              Strange question, but easy answer:

The support staff are not only quick with their replies, but are extremely useful and have gone the extra mile for me now several times. Compare that with generic, shithouse responses from Profitbuilders team that take up to 5 days to even reply with said quality, and you have an "outstanding" contender.

instabuilder is a anual payment so after 1st year you have to renew to receive updates and support. There are a lot of services / plugins / theme clubs that work like this - and it is fair.
