I would be all up for a live meetup, I just suggested an online because the live seemed ike it was not making any progress after like 5 months.

I live in the Montrose, I'm not sure of possible places and we can scout around.

But if anyone objects to spirits or wants to search jwire that's kewl.

I wanted to be at the last meeting and then had an issue with Saturday. For me, I think the weekends are to busy. Weekdays would be fine. No matter, I will try to make the next meeting (unless it is on the 25th, cause I'm off to Mexico). :-)

Sorry I didn't make it. I've been away from the forum, so I didn't know about this. I guess I'm going to have to change my setting so I get an email when someone posts on this thread.

I'm very interested in this and I can share with the rest of you what's working for me as far as business strategies go.

And, yes, the Montrose area would probably work well as is is pretty much a good central location for the City of Houston.

I'm not too familiar with downtown locations (although I've worked there hundreds of times).

A lot of people tend to venture towards the Montrose/ Rice University areas.

Pappasito's comes to mind.

There is one located at Kirby and Richmond, which is only a couple of miles SW of downtown. They usually will set aside a section if you call in advance (besides that, my son is a manager for Pappasito's at another location and might be able use some leverage to get us a spot).

We probably need to find out how big of a crowd we get first as there are some really cool smaller places closer to downtown.

Papasitos sounds good, but no wifi there. Wifi is not absolutely necessary, but last meetup it made a few things easier.

Last time we met at Stag's head, very close to Pappasitos.

Saturday afternoon is best for me, but I think many people do not find it convenient.

Weekday early evenings in a bar/restaurant might be difficult due to happy hour commotion

Houston Public Library has some branches that are open to 8pm some weekdays with wifi and meeting rooms, I have no idea what is necessary for reservations.

JiWire. The Leading Mobile Audience Media Channel & Wi-Fi Advertising Network has a list with good maps. Search 77002 for downtown, 77006 for midtown/Montrose or 77098 for the area around Papasitos.

Thanks for letting me know. I definitely want everyone to get the opportunity to connect with each other. How about this? Since most people work (which I completely understand) let's all meet June 10th at 6:00pm at Stags. Stags seems like a familiar location and having Wifi is a great idea since we all work on our computers.

Ok, Let's stick with the date, location, and time, mentioned above. Those who work should be able to meet us after they get off. And those who don't workshould be flexible enough to make it, with the advanced notice.

I will proceed to contact all IMers in the Houston location, this week.

Please let me know if anyone has additional ideas and comments.

Here's Stags location. Someone please confirm, as I am new to the area.

Hello All Houston Area Warriors!!!!!!!!!!!

I just came from our second meeting and have to say that it was awesome. It was a great experience to put faces to log-in names. Also, each of us were able to absorb the many ideas and resources given by other members, which as a great experience.

In an effort to stabilize our group in a way that encourages expansion, I'd be willing to take on the roll of Houston Area Facilitator. (Any objections, say... "I" :-)

Ok, since there are no objections, let's plan to meet next month as well. July's gathering will take place on a Saturday morning. I'll post the new date, time, and location soon.

I hope you'll all be able to attend! I look forward to seeing you!

Hey Christie,
Anything North of Downtown (off I-45) is going to be a little undesirable as this area is ridden with crime. Besides, there really isn't any decent place we could meet in that area anyway.

As far as the Northern "section" of downtown, I believe there is the Cadillac Bar or a Buffalo wing place off of Allen Parkway.

I would suggest a place off of Kirby and Westheimer or the Montrose area because it's more centrally located (slightly west of downtown). Also, the choices of where we could meet are many.

Anything along the Richmond strip or the Galleria area is always a good choice as well.

Of course, you could go further North into the 1960 and I-45 area or go south to Bay Area Blvd.

Thanks for your suggestions, Steve. I'm kind of new here, so I'm unfamiliar with the good parts and bad parts. That's why I usually stick to home, which is I45 and 1960, but much too far for most people to drive.

I'll pull out a map and contact you with suggested locations and hope you can help me out.

I'm not too familiar with downtown locations (although I've worked there hundreds of times). A lot of people tend to venture towards the Montrose/ Rice University areas. Pappasito's comes to mind. There is one located at Kirby and Richmond, which is only a couple of miles SW of downtown. They usually will set aside a section if you call in advance (besides that, my son is a manager for Pappasito's at another location and might be able use some leverage to get us a spot). We probably need to find out how big of a crowd we get first as there are some really cool smaller places closer to downtown.

Also, each of us were able to absorb the many ideas and resources given by other members, which as a great experience. In an effort to stabilize our group in a way that encourages expansion, I'd be willing to take on the roll of Houston Area Facilitator. (Any objections, say...
