Any of you Chicagoans going to the Search Engine Strategy Expo in December (http://www.searchenginestrategies.com/chicago/)? I don't have the $$ right now to pay for the sessions but I figured I'd stop by the expo to see if there's anything new and exciting going on. If anyone else is going and would like to meet up, let me know. I'll be in town on and off through December to visit family.

Do you guys want to start our own MeetUp group? It costs $79 to get started I think.

Alternatively, MeetUp.com has a few e-business groups in Chicago. StomperNet also has a new Chicago MeetUp group and you don't have to me a StomperNet member to participate. That may be the best place to start. They already have 50 members and had their first meeting two weeks ago.

Looking forward to meeting other Warriors there.

Im a metra ride away from Chicago, We should really organize something! I dont see why meetup.org or anything like that is really necessary. If we do a "mastermind" group I think it would be wise for us to keep it limited to Warriors. We dont want 1000 people showing up, right?

I can see this being alot of fun though, I propose we do our first meetup; and plan out some contributions we can all make to the second meetup. For example, I'm sure we all have areas where were highly specialized. I could put together a presentation on Media Buying. I'm sure we have some highly skilled SEO, PPC, and Copywriters as well.

Of course our less experienced Warriors wouldnt be expected to do give any sort of presentation if they felt uncomfortable doing so.

They discuss different methods to make it in this business. It is a great place to meet people in the business and share ideas. They usually meet once a month. Hope this helps and if I find any other good meets I will be sure to share.

Guys I actually just started a meet up group in Chicago so I'm more than down for it! I did it free through my site, I ain't spending $20 a month on meetup.com

I'm here in Texas, but I'm all over the country often especially in Chicago. I'll be up there in a couple of weeks actually. Let's get everyone together for this. I can show up for meet ups a couple times a month, but there's no limit on how many times we can meet of course lol.

I'll PM everyone here right now see who's up for it. It's free for everyone by the way, just spend what you want depending on where we meet...drinks, coffee etc.

But seriously guys, we can create groups and meet people that we never would have before.

Ive even got a venue that would be open to us if we get a good number of people.

computers with free internet access.
lots of restaurants and fast food in the area

its near the corner of W. Irving Park and Western Ave.

So if we get a good group this may be a good spot for us.

What time were you thinking for a Saturday? I'm tied up every Saturday from about 2-7 PM, but anytime after that works for me. Not sure if that's too late for you guys.

If my schedule conflicts though, I don't expect you to change anything around because of me so no worries if it does.

I agree with the weekends my wife can look after my daughter so im all good.

if we can schedule the meetup after 2pm on saturdays that would be great cause the place I have access to closes at 2pm and we can use the place any time after that.
