UK Warriors Interested In A Warrior Event?

Hi,

Now that I'm back in the UK for the foreseeable future I wanted get started on getting warriors together.

I met a bunch of you a few days ago at the London Lunch and it reminded me that I used to organise workshops and masterminds in the UK when I around a few years ago.

It can be lonely and demotivating sometimes when you don't have people around you who understand why you're so excited about the Internet or what you're talking about, and having like-minded people to bounce ideas off, make friends with and form JVs with is what having fun and being successful in IM is all about.

I have a few friends in IM that are warriors already so I know how useful this can be.

There's obviously the normal issues of location etc.. but for now I just want a show of hands for who's up for a Warrior event. I can work out what'll be appropriate once I have a good idea for numbers.

There must be hundreds of warriors in the UK, so let's see how many we can get interested and go from there - I'm happy to lead the way and make any necessary arrangements for meeting rooms etc.

Let 2010 be the year you 'got it' and started having fun and leveraging the mighty power of combine warriors. I bet whatever your niche, there are warriors you could benefit from working with.

Once I know there's enough interest - I'll set up a sign-up page so that we don't have to hog the forum doing all the arrangements.

I have not attended anything like this before (although I do attend Chamber of Commerce networking events). How do these kind of Warrior events work?

Do we have speakers or do we just turn up and share experiences and chat with like-minded people?

Hi Gary,

It's up to us really and depends on the level of interest and timings, but I would expect that it's largely focused on getting people to know each other and find out who has what skills, with perhaps a few speakers to bring people up to speed on things that are usually hurdles.

When I've these types of thing before, I usually have a flip chart or board and note down things people would like to discuss and have some sort of session to go over them after people have got to know each other.

They do need some structure as left to their own devices a lot of people will just find a friend and stay chatting with them

It'll be great whatever the numbers though.

I am not sure how many people are from 'up north' like me but if possible somewhere central and easy to get to like London, Manchester, birmingham (Newcastle LOL) would be ideal.

Attended the London Lunch last week, best £30 I've spent in a long time - good food, good company, real contact with other IMers, loads of tips picked up and lots of infectious motivation!

Currently on my way to the Midlands Warrior meet-up in Birmingham as I type. :-)

When you set up a time and place be sure to put up a paypal button so that people can donate to pay your time to set this up, and cover any up front costs of hiring a suitable venue.

I know from experience that talk is cheap, but once people have committed some cash to the idea it tends to get more actions.
