Mastermind Group: Olympia or Tacoma - Washington State

I'm going to suggest a couple of dates and locations to see which works best for folks: Thursday, June 3 @ 0630 pm or June 13 @ 2 pm. Location: Starbucks in Dupont on Center Dr; or Starbucks -10314 S Tacoma Way. Do any of these dates or locations work for you folks? If not suggest something else.

For me, I can't meet anytime before 4 during the week, as I am a slave to the man during normal business hours ( aint seo grand? ). However I am open to either some weekend or night time meets. I like the idea of the days...if the starbucks on 10314 is convenient to ya'll I am down. I could even meet up say round fife or so..I know the poodle dog is a good spot right of the freeway in fife, pretty quiet so we can talk. Think there is a starbucks up there too should you want some fancy java

Okay, here's the thing.

We've got a half dozen people in this thread saying they want to get together.

We've got four who said they'd be there at the agreed date and time.

And I'm the only one who showed up.

Woody Allen famously said 80% of success is showing up.

So the next time any of you are sitting around saying "why can't I meet other IMers in my area?" - this is why.

Because you don't show up.

This is one of the critical parts of "treating it like a business," people. If you schedule a meeting, you show up.

Now if you'll pardon me, I'm going to go start working on the product that I would have been working on for the past four hours - if I hadn't wasted that time going to a meeting that never happened.

I am about a hair's breadth from the iron-clad decision that I no longer attend anything where people aren't paying cash in advance for tickets.

I can understand someone not showing up because of an emergency.

But we're not talking about just you. I figured you - as the organiser - probably had a really good reason not to show up, since you selected the date and time and venue.

What annoys me is that nobody showed up. Nobody at all. And honestly, the chances of EVERYONE having some sort of serious emergency are roughly zero.

And give my best wishes for a speedy recovery to your dad.

I think the problem is that it needs to be a completely new thread.

I've updated the Seattle one asking for input and then when I get some more replies we'll set the date and I'll start a new thread and PM everyone the details.

I didn't plan this one, but that's too bad for whoever did.

Hi Jon. While I've studied IM for a few years, I really haven't done much with it yet. I'm making sites for selling physical products, to start. I'm not looking at offline marketing so much, although I have redone a few friends sites, and did some SEO for them. I'd like to get together sometime. Monday afternoons or Friday afternoons are usually the best for me - I work with clients the rest of the time. (I'm a massage therapist.)
