Hey guys,

You got a Goldy Bash '09 organized?

It'd be fantastic to meet some people in the game.

Maybe I could host it at my house. We could all sleep on the floor like human carpet and wake up to Homebrand Wheat Biscuits and powdered milk!

In all seriousness though, I'd be more than willing to go to Bris-Vegas or the Sunny Coast (anywhere I can get by train, lol) if you guys held another Queensland Warrior bash.

With all the work-from-home flyers and classifieds about up here, I'm sure we could find a ton of people to come

Your hair is wicked - do you still wear it like that?

Gold Coast winters are crazy (this is my first winter here). Not much cooler during the day (compared to the rest of the year), but then they are absolutely freezing at night. I've taken to wearing two shirts, a hoody, pants and socks to bed.

It's BRIGHTER!!

Welcome to Queensland - you'll quickly discover you need to wear 4 layers of clothes for this time of year - you start off with everything on and as the day progresses you start to peel off the layers, then around 3 pm you start putting them all back on again! You'll get used to it - it's still the bestest place to live

lol - so true. The first day of real cold winter, I left the house in boxers, shorts, pyjama pants and jeans over them. I was regretting that before I'd even got to Southport (about a 30 minute walk from where I live - Chirn Park).

Yeah, it's beautiful. I've lived in Fortitude Valley/New Farm, Camp Hill, Manly West, Varsity Lakes and, now, Chirn Park (near Labrador) - so I've seen a fair bit of this part of the state. Yet to venture further north than Stafford though. I think I'll have to check out the Sunny Coast one day soon - maybe even Cairns etc!

It appears you only live 2 minutes away from me as I live in Labrador and from the looks of things PeteInOz lives on the Coast as well.

We should have a meet another Gold Coast meet up... at least we get to meet other warriors as well. I might put a new post up and get some traction.
