Dave,

Roanoake is about 4 hours or so (depending on how fast you drive) from Charlotte, so that may be a bit far...

If you were going to be somewhere closer we could maybe meet in the middle. For now, we're going to set up a call on Skype so let us know if you'd like to join in.

Just found this. I'm from Raleigh but may be moving to Charlotte in the near future. (Depending on a job offer) I would be open to Skype or in person but I'm a restaurant mgr. so I prob. have vastly different hours than the rest of y'all. hope we can all work something out.

I am in upstate South Carolina, about an hour and a half from Charlotte. I have set things like this up before. Get three people who guarantee they will be there at a set time, post it, and stick to it. Let the people coming in later adjust their schedules. It'll grow if you set a schedule, promote it and get anything done at it.

I am in Alexander County (Taylorsville - west of Statesville, north of Hickory).

Skype is iffy for me as I can't seem to find a decent headphone for it ... or it could be my computer. Don't know.

Would rather do a meet-up in person. Be a nice change from chit-chatting with folks on the computer and phone - I do that all day with my job as it is LOL.

Seems most of us are east of Charlotte or in SC .... very few online here in the Foothills. I'm so alone! hehehe

I'm snowed next week due to a deadline at work next Friday, but then things open up a bit (hopefully) after that.

So, when would folks like to meet - I can usually do a late night - after 9:30pm after getting the kids in bed- or most times on the weekends. If we can get a consensus I'll create the webex and post the link.

Thanks for the kind words, but the 'advance warrior' has more to do with the number of postings over 2 years than my expertise :-) But I would like get together with fellow Tar Heels and discuss IM.

I just attended a meetup meeting last Thursday in Raleigh and really liked it. About 20 fellow IMers gathered 'round discussing various activities. The main presentation was on outsourcing and was very good. If you're near Raleigh check out Raleigh Internet Marketing Mastermind Group.

There's another topic open with folks near Wilmington, but I've been on the Warrior's forum for over 2 years and it always seems to be a bit of a stretch to get folks together in person to network.

I'm still open to trying a webex or Skype conference, but my day job is really eating into my time.

However, I'm am putting on the second annual Warrior's forum networking event this coming October - see the link in my Sig for details. When I come up for air this month I'll try to set up a webex too - or if someone wants to help let me know and I can arrange to start the session and attend if I can.

Sorry Raleigh is too far. Would people be willing to make a donation to the Dave Thomas Foundation for a webex - I could fire up a series of webex sessions and send the links out - and tie it to the pc we'll be running the projector from - and maybe do a conference call.

There are several problems with this:

1) The quality would suck just to be honest.
2) The webex I have for my day job does not have a toll free option - so unless you have VOIP, there would be long distance charges.
3) I could not provide any tech support - if the audio/video is bad there's nothing I could do about it.

That's why I passed on trying to stream the event live. But for a small donation would people put up with this?

My gut feeling is not;

But if enough folks are interested I could set this up pretty quickly.
