Local Event: East London Business Brains

As an IMer, life can get pretty lonely sometimes.
Wouldn't it be great to meet like minded people for
a chat?

If you live in, or close to East London, and quite
fancy meeting, say one a month, for a meal or
maybe a drink, register your interest below and if
we get a critical mass of interest, I'll organise
something.

Hi Folks,

I've been unwell for sometime, but on the mend now. I'm now in a position to pursue this activity again.

Here's the plan. I certainly do NOT want to compete with the London IM Lunch organised by Martin Avis. These run alternate months. My plan would be to get together in the other months.

So, sometime mid October perhaps. I'm pretty flexible about location, so whatever suits the majority is fine by me.

I agree about not competeing with the London Lunch, I attend that as well.

Also I think the Liverpool Street area seems a good choice, easy for East London and South/SE London people can get into London Bridge and/or Cannon Street.

I've just found this forum the other day and love it. I would like to meet up with like-minded people in the London area, and don't mind getting involved with the planning of the meeting event either. The more the merrier and hopefully we can all network and learn from each other... maybe even do some JV's!

Is anything planned for November at all? If not, I'm happy to look into this with whoever wants to work with me to organise this event and make it happen.

I have been to the last two London lunches.
Turn up between 12.30 and 1.00, have a drink, sit down for dinner, retire to the bar afterwards until you want to go home.
It's not a heavy day drinking wise (unless you want it to be of course), the food is a simple carvery, there are roughly 30 people turn up, all ages, races, levels of IM expertise.

All in all well worth attending. I have made some great friends and contacts there.

Turn up between 12.30 and 1.00, have a drink, sit down for dinner, retire to the bar afterwards until you want to go home. It's not a heavy day drinking wise (unless you want it to be of course), the food is a simple carvery, there are roughly 30 people turn up, all ages, races, levels of IM expertise. All in all well worth attending. I have made some great friends and contacts there. cheers JimmyD
