Local Event: ****LONDON MEETUP****

Hi Guys,

I'm from London and being from England I find that there is not many Internet Marketers around. It would be great if a group of us could get together and hold a little discussion.

I'm going to collect numbers to see who's interested so just reply to this thread rather than PM me. This way other warriors will see who is going

I would be very appreciative (as would everyone else) if we could have a few speakers.

My areas of 'expertise' include:
Offline Advertising.
PPV.
PPC.
Basic SEO

So if anyone can add to those skills at this talk then that would be great. Or even do your own talk about one of the subjects mentioned above.

It will still be good to get out and meet up with some like minded people. I myself, used to find that other people brung me down a little who weren't into internet marketing. I always find that talking to people first hand about their experiences online is way more motivating.

It would be great to get this off the ground soon.

Any thoughts too will be greatly appreciated.

That's cool. You don't have to speak. We appreciate speakers AS WELL AS attendees.

Ideally I want a few more people to come so I will release a date when we can get this thing off the ground.

Had quite a lot of PMs from people wanted to meet, network and discuss IM for new ideas and methods. So, the list is building.

Again, please state whether you want to come within the thread so we can collect numbers and move this thing forward to a meetup.

It's what I do - currently I work mostly with big business and I'm looking to see what big business can learn from IM/MLM and vice versa.

Don't know where the notion that there are not many IM's in the UK came from. There are thousands!
Now if the question was how many successful IM's that is a different story. But there are quite a lot of IM millionaires in the UK and it is growing all the time.
Why not set up a first tuesday type informal meet first of all to get things started.

To all who are interested in meeting up around the London area, I am thinking of organising a social meet-up for like-minded people sometime in early-mid December. I'm thinking of Saturday 12th December around noon.

We could all meet up in a cosy pub or bar, have a few drinks and light bites (or lunch if you want) and chat about internet marketing and what we're all doing. What I have in mind also is to form a group where we can meet up regularly to support and encourage each other to succeed in our online ventures. Of course if the group grows large enough, there would be ample opportunity for some serious networking and JV formations. Who knows where it will all lead to?

If you're up for it, and so long as we get at least half a dozen people to confirm attendence then I'll make it happen.

PM me with your phone number and email if you're interested so that I can determine the interest levels! I will send you my details in return.

OK fellow IM'ers. I've had 3 responses via PM so far...

...and 1 on this forum from nota-bene who wants to meet up but cannot do 12th Dec.

That makes 5 of us in total interested, but only 3 can make the 12th Dec. Would be great to get a handful of more people to come along.

Suggest you all let me know what days you CAN'T make in December. FYI, I'll be unavailable from 23rd Dec onwards.

Therefore any of the following days are fine with me, although my preference is for a weekend, else a Friday as I think that would probably suit most other people here although I may be wrong:

Weds 9th - Sun 13th, and Weds 16th - Tues 22nd.

Let me know soon, so I can arrange something. We'll probably meet up for some coffee or drinks, either in at a quiet cafe (any suggestions welcomed) or some place where we can sit down round a table or two for some informal chat and a drink/light bite, such as the Royal Festival Hall. As you say I cannot do weekends but any days in December apart from, at the moment that is, 10th, 14,17th I can do. However it looks like quite a few can do Saturday the 12th so I would go with that if I were you and I can catch up with everyone in the New Year.

That said however, I have commitments through dec and in Jan I am of to Las Vegas to join in a workshop run by Alex Jeffreys.

Right everyone,

Here's the plan:

Whoever wants to come along, we can all meet this Saturday the 12th December at 1pm at the Royal Festival Hall. Suggested meeting up point is just inside the building, at the main entrance facing the River Thames. There's a café and some shops inside if you arrive early, you can browse around. There's a nice café / restaurant nearby called "Le Pain Quotidien" (The Daily Bread!) which we could perhaps sit down for a light bite and coffee, although I believe there are other probably smaller cafés and bars within walking distance nearby. I guess we can decide on the day, but first things first, let's get a bunch of us together to socialise and talk about IM!

Nearest stations are Waterloo Tube / Waterloo International Train Station. It's very near the London Eye! You can also get there by walking across the Golden Jubilee Bridge from Embankment Tube station.
