Hi Guys,

As you may recall I was running a thread on the old
forum about the huge Warrior Networking Event
being held at the gold coast on the 18th October 2008

Please let me know in this thread if you are coming
to the event. Anna Johnson is organising the hotel
so that everyone can enjoy cheaper rats.

  First, I’m really looking forward to this and trying to arrange my travel and other commitments so I was wondering if we can have an indication of the start and finish times for this yet (including networking meals or whatever – often the most value)?
  
  I don’t need an agenda – just a “You’ll want to be here before this” start time and a “Don’t book your flight out before this” finishing time.

  We will be starting at 9am and finishing
  at 5pm on Saturday the 18th October!
  
  Food will be supplied for the whole event
  because it will be fully catered. So dont
  worry about bringing lunch.
  
  A Stretch Limmo will be picking us all up
  in the morning from the Radisson Hotel.
  
  All updates will be sent out to people

  I've just booked in with Nathan Jock. For anyone wondering, you can checkin 2:00pm on the 17th (Fri) and need to checkout by 11am on 19th (Sun).
  
  I'll check-in early Fri afternoon to head down to the beach to get the GC girls checking me out and reflecting the rays from my white internet marketing body. So any warriors who want to keep up with me and "network" on the Fri, let me know.

Well I am officially devastated

I have been looking forward to this for SO long, but hubby's boss informed him this week he has to go away urgently.

That means hubby can't get Saturday off and I have nobody else to watch the kids so no trip to queensland for me!

I will be there with you all in spirit, am pretty frustrated right now, so going to sulk and try and set down some plans to make enough money for hubby to quit his job .....

I have to say that this was the event of the year for me.

Anyone who missed it, well....you missed out big time, that's all I am allowed to say because of contractual and legal requirements.

Thanks to Pete for hosting us, Mick and Anna for organising everything and everyone - and kudos to everyone else that came and made it a great day - these are the actions that make people stand out from the crowd.

It is currently at the top of my list of 'stuff I am really glad I did before I die'....

If I could be bothered going to the thesaurus I would find some more words but outstanding, brilliant and awesome come to mind second - first to mind is 'priceless'.

Awesome job well done and I would encourage other warriors to get off the 'bad ass' as Pete might like to say, and get something like this going in their own local area.

  I am a shattered and broken man!!
  
  I was supposed to go, I was all set and ready and ended up looking after my 2 year old daughter while my pregnant wife hugged the dunny bowl for half the day. She told me to go but I couldn't leave her in that state.
  
  Maybe some of the brisbanites might want to get together one weekend at a cafe or coffee club for a chat and brainstorm.

  That was honestly the best Seminar/Networking event I've ever been to! Probably the only free event I've attended to which had actual solid hard hitting content I'd never heard before and soo many really cool, down to earth people (who aren't afraid to discuss strategies).

You got a Goldy Bash '09 organized?

It'd be fantastic to meet some people in the game.

Maybe I could host it at my house. We could all sleep on the floor like human carpet and wake up to Homebrand Wheat Biscuits and powdered milk!

In all seriousness though, I'd be more than willing to go to Bris-Vegas or the Sunny Coast (anywhere I can get by train, lol) if you guys held another Queensland Warrior bash.

With all the work-from-home flyers and classifieds about up here, I'm sure we could find a ton of people to come

Your hair is wicked - do you still wear it like that?

Gold Coast winters are crazy (this is my first winter here). Not much cooler during the day (compared to the rest of the year), but then they are absolutely freezing at night. I've taken to wearing two shirts, a hoody, pants and socks to bed.

It's BRIGHTER!!

Welcome to Queensland - you'll quickly discover you need to wear 4 layers of clothes for this time of year - you start off with everything on and as the day progresses you start to peel off the layers, then around 3 pm you start putting them all back on again! You'll get used to it - it's still the bestest place to live

lol - so true. The first day of real cold winter, I left the house in boxers, shorts, pyjama pants and jeans over them. I was regretting that before I'd even got to Southport (about a 30 minute walk from where I live - Chirn Park).

Yeah, it's beautiful. I've lived in Fortitude Valley/New Farm, Camp Hill, Manly West, Varsity Lakes and, now, Chirn Park (near Labrador) - so I've seen a fair bit of this part of the state. Yet to venture further north than Stafford though. I think I'll have to check out the Sunny Coast one day soon - maybe even Cairns etc!

It appears you only live 2 minutes away from me as I live in Labrador and from the looks of things PeteInOz lives on the Coast as well.

We should have a meet another Gold Coast meet up... at least we get to meet other warriors as well. I might put a new post up and get some traction.
