Default Why Do You HATE Writing Articles?

From what I've read, I can boil it down to 5 common reasons why some of you hate writing articles. Here's what I've read as well as my take on each one....

1) I Don't Know What To Write About!

Go to Google and enter "your niche" + article OR "your niche" + blog. You should have some ideas just based on your search results.

Another idea is to enter your niche on Google Answers. You can generate some creative articles just by looking at the questions and responses (especially "Best Answers") written on your niche.

2) It Takes Too Long!

All you need is 300-350 words....That is basically 6 short paragraphs.

First paragraph (Introduction) - Start with a catchy opening line and then tell them what you are about to discuss.

Second paragraph - Fifth paragraph (Body) - You will either be discussing one point/perspective in depth across these paragraphs OR 3 quick points across these paragraphs.

Sixth paragraph (Conclusion) - Summarize what you said and end with a catchy concluding line.

Another good idea is to go to EzineArticles and check out the most viewed articles. Study their formats and try to emulate their structure and flow for your articles.

3) It's so tedious to write and I can't get motivated to start!

Just take it slow....Set a goal of 1 article/day and build it up slowly. You will find it easier to accomplish when it's no so daunting. Plus, you'll find that you get faster at writing articles over time.

4) My niche is too competitive!/There's too many articles on my niche!

There's an endless supply of keyword phrases to go after! You just need to know where to look.

Start by drilling down deeper into your niche. Do a search for your keyword phrase and then on the results page under the Google logo, select options and then "Wonder Wheel" to come up with sub-niches. Use Google's Keyword Tool to search for phrases for these sub-niches.

Now, you have an effective way to uncover valuable keyword phrases.

5) I've published quite a few articles but I'm hardly seeing any money/opt-ins...What's the point of continuing?

There's two reasons why you're not seeing much money which is keeping you from continuing with article marketing.

One reason is that not enough people are seeing your articles. You will only get good traffic to your articles when:

*Your article has an eyecatching title that contains your keyword phrase.

*Your article is indexed in the search engines.

*You actively establish backlinks to your article to solidify its position in the search engines.

*Your article content contains your keyword phrase 2-3 times.

*You article is informative, yet entertaining, and it keeps the reader interested, naturally leading him up to your resource box to check out your link. (Don't forget to proofread your article!)

The other reason is that you don't have enough articles out there. Article marketing is a long-term game plan. You cannot just write a small batch of articles and wait for the traffic roll in. You have to commit to writing articles every day.

Your articles are your salesforce and the more articles you have out there, the more success you will see.

**************************************************

If you hate article marketing and I didn't cover your reason, please tell me your reason!

Also, if you can offer some additional solutions for the above 5, please share!

Hopefully, the new and aspiring article marketers will find this thread useful!

I used to think I would not enjoy it, but now I see that I do. I look at it as me helping people to solve problems and enhance their lives. If I feel bored I just think of the people who will read my articles and think to myself there are actually people out there who want to read what I write. it gives me a voice and I love it.

Well, well, well, writing articles is an art, rather than technical things. If I'm in the mood, I'd love to do it. However if I'm not in the mood, I won't do it!

But usually I hate writing articles because:
1. I'm not in the mood
2. It consumes most of my time

When i go to create a website, i usually do keyword research to start with, so i have a list of keywords, i find this extremely useful for article writing, as you already have subjects ready to write on, and as Michael put in his post, once you have your subjects, you can research other peoples articles if needed to work out what to put in your own.
