I am looking to start up an organization/company that is focusing on fathers rights to their kid(s). Right now I am going through a custody battle with my ex for our one year old daughter. I have been through complete hell this past 10 months and I want to create a blog or ebook that will help the single fathers out there know their rights with their children, especially since I'm only 23 it could help the young fathers. I have found out lots of useful information that I never knew before hiring a lawyer and I want to translate my knowledge onto the internet for all of the innocent fathers out there can use this to help them.

Now, I also have friends who are single fathers who are going through the same situation. I believe I have a good niche and ideas that I can put together to turn into something profitable. Whether selling an ebook that helps fathers take this step by step for just a couple bucks, or just simply blogging about my past experience and continue to blog about myself and my daughter as we progress.

I want to keep the website updated, Facebook fan page flowing with motivational quotes & pictures, and overall I want to help as many fathers as I can.

Is this a good idea? Iv had trouble finding that PERFECT niche because everything is just so damn competitive. I know a lot about sports and never knowing anything about being a father until I got hit with this situation where I got my child kept away from me, I have a lot to write about.

What do you think? For a domain idea I was thinking FathersHype.com or FatherHype.com.

I think as long as you feel passionate about it, or if you feel it's your inner drive to do it, then it's good niche. No niche is for everyone, and it's not overnight success, so you need to find something appealing to you, Blog posts are good ideas if you wanted to get any attention, meaning good ranking for updates.

You should do it, profitable or not.

I wish my father had something like this when my parent's got divorced.

You should definitely enter this niche as you're obviously passionate about it.

Perhaps you should do both - blog relevant articles and then on your blog, offer an ebook for sale that will bring you income even without you doing anything (once you have written it).

    Cheers,

This is a good idea. There are many men in similar situations. Despite the advances in prejudice and stereo typing, it is still often a view that the mother is the natural caretaker and best custodial parent.

If you look around you will find many similar blogs of fathers fighting for parental rights.

Some stories are shocking. Others just sad.

I dont want to get unto detail but a lot of times the mother isnt the best but granted that they are the "mother" they have the rights.. well which they think they do. Learning from my experiences i want to share with all fathers out there. Even though every state has diff laws i want to tell my side and even research other states laws.

What domain would go better? Fathershype or fatherhype.com

If i blog about my stories and helping fathers then what is the true purpose of an ebook? If all the info is already found on the blog?

    Hi Bsurb,

Definitely a good idea, especially in the UK at the moment. I wouldn't do a blog, but more of a community forum. People would also be able to express their feelings and legal process they went through.

    Cheers

Wouldn't a forum be a lot tougher though? To build up and making $ wise?

    Why Hype?

I don't get the connection. How about FatherRights.org or something that let's people know a little more about what to expect. FathersHype.com seems like ... idk... too hypey? If that's even a word.

But I like your idea, a lot.

As you mentioned, every state has different laws and one thing you'll want to think about is how will you monetize your traffic?

Have you thought about looking into any nationwide law firms that specialize in representing fathers and selling them leads? You'd definitely have the traffic for it and a lawyer for the ones who can afford it can often be the difference between winning and losing. At least that's what they want us to believe, right?

Anyway, good luck with the site... no matter which direction you take it.

It is good to publish such book , but dont expect a lot of profits for many reasons :
1- The west world in general is usually on the side of women , so they will give you a suspected look when you publish your book.
2- Most media channels will not support your book. (they prefer to be about women right not men )

But again it is good book and I suggest to publish it at least on kendle as publishing there is free .

I never looked into a nationwide law firm, no. At the start it all sounded like a good idea to start. Just trying to find a niche.

    Hi bsurb,

I think that it's a great idea - especially as you are so passionate about it!

Both methods can be awesome, I suppose this is where the business planning comes in. Would you rather put your new-found information into an Ebook and get it sold for a good income, or would you rather put some of that information into a blog and try and monetise it?

If you put info in a blog, would you just end up writing and selling a book anyway? What else could you create to sell from your blog to monetise it?

Personally, I would go for the Ebook, and get it on Amazon Kindle. You can then market it and build the hype on Social Media, and through your list (if you have one).

    Hope this helps!

Would I talk a lot about my personal stories though in the ebook?
