What are your tips for coming up with new products?

I've got a serious case of product creation writer's block. What are your tips for coming up with new products?

(I've already done a bit of market research and I know my niche... I just feel like I'm hitting a wall.)

What exactly do you mean by product creation? Physical products? Electronic products? MMO? Non-MMO? Etc, etc.

Without knowing your niche it's impossible to advise. Are you looking to stay in your niche, or open to others as well? Are you looking for an exclusive product? Affiliate? Would you buy into something? etc, etc.

Far, far too many variables. Maybe you'll get some answers if you provide some specifics.

Electronic, ebook style products. Yeah, there's a lot of variables, I guess I was looking for something like the Eugene Schwartz "Sit down and set the timer for 33:33" idea.

This is nothing I haven't done before a dozen times, I don't know why it's seeming so hard this time.

@FreedomBlogger - yeah, thanks I actually just started doing that, going through my research so far and just mindlessly extracting out desires I've identified.

Someone once said "there's no such thing as writer's block, just insufficient research" but MAN...

I recommend you to read more information in your niche.

Go around the cyberspace and look for blogs in your niche. Read what other bloggers are talking about.

You can also go to affiliate program sites like clickbank.com and look at the marketplace and what people are promoting.

You should also do a Survey in social networks and get some feedback on certain topics. This should help you get more ideas.

    Ask people around!

Go outside the box and just learn as much information as possible - so your ideas can flow a lot more and better!

    I hope this helps!

I wish you the best of the best!

    Cheers!

I think you're experiencing writer's block in this instance because maybe you've already been through all of the conventional stuff. You've temporarily run out of things to say that have significance. Perhaps you're bored with what you're trying to work on. Hey, it happens to all of us writers.

My advice is to not force it. Relax and allow the ideas to flow to you naturally.

Read articles, press releases and industry sites. Check out new product releases in your niche. There's always something new coming down the pike. Or, maybe trouble is stirring somewhere and people are seeking solutions. What are people discussing? Brainstorm some ideas by jotting down whatever comes to mind. Eventually, you'll have a Eureka moment.

If this isn't your first product... then you can always do the 'ask your list' method and get some ideas about what would help them.

You could also start from scratch and see what kind of issues people are having, and start all over again. Sometimes, that question of... how can i create a high converting headline asked for the millionth time can create a new idea about how you'd answer it THIS time instead of the way you did last year.

Study your target market. That always gets me out of my writer block. I take a pad of paper and a pen. Lock myself away from people and distractions for an hour and ask myself these questions about the target prospects in my niche market.

      • What problems are they experiencing?
      • What irritates them?
      • What bothers them?
      • What makes them uncomfortable?
      • What makes them mad?
      • What do they hate?
      • What do they love?
      • What excites them?
      • What bores them?

Then I brainstorm possible product or service solutions.

I seldom walk away without getting several ideas to test. And from the test I get at least one gem ... most of the time.

Try it, what have you got to lost but an hour or so.

      Good Luck!
