Accountability Partners

Anyone here know where to find accountability partners? A google search turned up partners mostly for things like weight loss, exercising, quitting smoking, etc. That's great, but I was wondering if there are any resources related to reaching business related goals?

And I'm not necessarily looking for a mentor or coach; I have my goals set and know the tasks I need to complete to reach them. I'm talking about someone that will commit to checking up with me on a regular basis to make sure I stay on track and not get distracted or give up, and in return I will do the same for them.

Is there a website or forum that is a good resource for this?

Many thanks!

Sounds like a mastermind group is what you need. Basically a group of individuals working towards similar goals helping each other and holding each other accountable. Very powerful stuff.

Make some connections here on the Warrior Forum (with some real people, not the spammers). Find a few people who are in a similar stage of their journey and begin talking shop with them behind closed doors. This whole building a business online thing goes a lot smoother when you start actually connecting with people with nothing specific to gain in the beginning - just for the sake of connecting and sharing ideas and observations with each other.

Once you've gotten to know a person or two and think one of them would benefit from and add to the efforts of an accountability group, pose the idea to them. Simple as that. One thing that's worked for me is creating a Google spreadsheet, where we track predefined habits we aim to hit every day or so many days a week.

You may also want to add a masterminding component with at least a weekly Skype check-in to review the week, discuss the week moving forward, and bounce ideas off one another.

Another option for finding a partner is to start a thread on small forum of like-minded people presenting the idea of an accountability group and inviting one or two members interested in pushing themselves harder to get in touch. I don't necessarily suggest the Warrior Forum, though - too large, vague, and scattered. And too many tire kickers and trolls.

That being said, one of the more-focused subforums might create the right community environment for that type of thing.

There are other ways to create accountability if you don't want to wait to meet someone.

Start your own daily habit spreadsheet, announce your goals on social media or to family members, and start a blog or thread somewhere regarding your progress.

One word of warning. If you do decide to blog it, don't get too caught up in writing about the journey all the time - that can work in some cases if it's part of your big picture business model, but a lot of that content creation energy would be better spent building your business.
