ClickBank Order Form New ActiveX Message affected sales...

Hi,

What's up with the following message that I see on ClickBank Order Forms recently?

"This website wants to run the following add-on:..."

This message appears at the top after the order form fully loads.

I wonder if anyone has experienced a drop in sales and notice this thing as the cause.

It might just mean that something on your PC isn't uo-to-date...I didn't get the message either. Check there aren't any updates on the software you're running. Things like flash, Java etc.

that's weird I got this the other day on the clickbank log in screen!

What browser are you using?

It might just be something on your computer that needs updating
or malware...

In IE8 it wants to install a "GEPlugin" from Google - not sure what that is, but to answer your question, it would have stopped me from making a purchase. I don't install ActiveX controls unless I intentionally searched for and wanted them.

[EDIT] I didn't look it up, but think it might be Google Earth.

I use IE 7 but it was some type of videoLan

The videolan add-on is what I am talking about.

The ClickBank order form wants to run that add-on.

I only saw this message recently and it coincides with my recent low sales.

Well it's strange that I saw it the other day as well as on clickbank log in screeen... I clicked it...now I'm wondering what the heck I did ...that's not a coincindence that we both saw exact same thing on cb...what is that? anyone?

Mine wants to run IE Spell. It shouldnt be requesting anything that isnt up-to-date.

Do you think it's malware? Do you even know what that is? yes I also was going to ask if you reported it

I got it too, and all I had to do was allow it to run once, (by clicking on the yellow bar at the top of your browser window) and then it is installed, and you should not see the script run again unless the script is updated.

yea I know I do have that on my computer ..but....I was trying to figure out why all of a sudden on the clickbank page? or is there no correlation ?

The order page seems ok to me and there is no "add-on" message. I am using Firefox.

When I checked the page in IE 8 it wanted to install Video Lan. Since I'm on a clean computer right now, meaning one I just built and set up with nothing but the OS installed, I went ahead and installed the plugin. It then wanted me to install a DIVX plugin.

How has it affected sales?

It seemed to corelate with my recent low sales.

I had high sales the preceeding days.

Customers who did not click to install the program yet would see the message.

It probably affects orders.

I need to wait until the weekend is over in order to be able to contact ClickBank.

I'm not getting any messages but when I go to a CB order form the status bar at the bottom of my browser continues to move as if it's loading something that never arrives.

yes I just noticed this week was slower in sales....hmmm I thought it was the July 4 holiday

Looks like the problem is the logo.htm call in the iframe at the bottom of the page. If you try to load just the:

https://ssl.clickbank.net/logo.htm?m=100100&s=some-hash

(s= parameter can be anything)

You get the warning, followed by an immediate redirect to https://ssl.kaptcha.com/logo.htm

I only saw this message appear last week when checking the ClickBank Order form.

My sales yesterday across multiple CB accounts were about 20% of normal...I don't want to jump to conclusions as it was a holiday weekend. However, my July 4th sales were normal and yesterday was the lowest day I've had in about 2-3 months. Today seems to be normal so far.

Yeah, and the free DIVX plugin has spyware agogo. Do not install that.

I just heard from clickbank support that it has been resolved...and my sales are back to coming in like normal
