    MrEyeconic -

One of the differences between master resell rights and private label rights is with MRR you can not change the product but you can sell it to another person and in turn they can sell someone else the rights to resell the product.

With PLR you buy the right to add your name, edit content-graphics-salespage, and so forth; so the material appears to be something you wrote.
This is the preferred rights to buy because you can change any links within the product to your affiliate and product links for one thing. With MRR the original owner/creator is continuing to make money with each sale of the product.

I'm sure I have something on my hard drive that spells this all out, but finding it will be a chore. If someone else doesn't beat me to it, I can pm it to you if you'd like after I find it.

Also some private label rights allow you to change the name and contact info but you cannot pass that right on to others. Other private label rights allow your customers to also be able to change the information (this is usually called unrestricted private label rights). You also need to read the terms to see if you can sell them on auctions and membership sites or give them as bonuses or not. Each author will make a different stipulation.

Which are we allowed to sell?

And which type of rights can we allow my customers to sell on to other people?

I'm looking to sell plr products on to other members, and giving them the opportunity to sell on to other people.

Private Label Rights in short PLR mean that you can change the information and name it as your own creation. This doesn't mean that you will have the right to sell automatically.

Master Resell Rights mean than you can sell resale right to your customer. And you customer can sell the product (but doesn't necessary mean that he can sell the resell rights like you can).

When purchasing these type of package/product/membership, you need to read the term and condition first.

Look at the term and condition for each package, you might find something like bellow:

      [Yes] Includes Sales Page.
      [Yes] Can be given away.
      [Yes] Can be packaged.
[Yes] Can be offered as a bonus.
[Yes] Can Be Edited Completely and Your Name Put on it.
[Yes] Can be used as web content
[Yes] Can be broken down into more articles
[Yes] Can be added to paid membership sites
[Yes] Can be offered through auction sites.
      [Yes] Can Sell Resell Rights
[Yes] Can sell Master Resale Rights
[Yes] Can sell Private Label Rights

      * I have seen membership sites that are providing PLR and resale rights stuff. But if you cancel the membership, you lose all rights to previous products that you have paid for. You need to pay a lump sum in order to continue to have rights for these paid products.

So, friend, read and read carefully with term and condition

Do note that, normally these type of PLR stuff get depreciated very fast. Just image you can sell PLR to your customers, and your customers can do the same to their customers.
And imagine how many copies that your source have sold. Who know, your source might get it from others as well.

At the end, it depends who are your targeted market.

I am spending hundred of bucks on PLR stuff every months, and I avoid PLR packages that are of these nature.

    MrEyeconic,

Because of the many restrictions, most PLR products today are actually nothing more than "Rebranding" Rights.

Before buying any PLR product, look at the License Terms. If they are not posted on the site, contact the seller for clarification.

The current trend is to sell "one-off" or Non-Transferable PLR - which means you cannot pass those same rights to your customer. And in some cases, no form of resale rights at all can be sold.

Occasionally, you see PLR that allows you to pass those same rights to your customer but they are only allowed to resell the product with personal use rights.

While others allow your customer to offer resell rights but their customers can only sell personal use rights.

As you can see, buying and selling PLR products is very confusing so the best advice is to do your homework in advance.

You've already gotten some very sound descriptions but I would just add that you will need to check the specific rights available at the time you are making your purchase.

Different product creators/sellers have varying descriptions of what "private label rights" means to them so it's important to know the specific regulations before investing.

Master Resell Rights: You can resell the product and have the rights to pass the resell rights to the buyers.

Resell Rights: You can resell the product but DO NOT have the rights to pass the resell rights to the buyers.

Private Label Rights: Basically, you can do anything with it (provided you did not break the terms and conditions)

    I hope this will help

Again, you can't apply a broad definition to any one particular offering.

I just got a promotional email from a well-known marketer offering PLR rights to a product on Article Marketing.

Here are the specific rights straight from the sales page:

    [YES] Private use
    [YES] Can be sold
[YES] Can put your name on it and call your own product
[YES] Can be edited and changed
[YES] Can be used as web content (no more than 25%)
[YES] Can be used as an e-course (no more than 25%)
[YES] Can be used as blog posts (no more than 25%)
[YES] Can be packaged with other paid products
[YES] Can be offered as a bonus with paid product
[YES] Can be offered as a bonus for affiliate promotions
[YES] Can be offered as an unadvertised bonus
[YES] Can be added to paid membership sites
[YES] Full translation rights in any language
[YES] Can sell Private Label Rights
    [NO] Can be given away
    [NO] Can sell Resale Rights
[NO] Can sell Master Resale Rights

As you can see, this particular offer allows the buyer to use the product (what's normally referred to as "Personal Use Rights") as well as selling the product (what's normally referred to as Resell Rights).

But here's where it gets strange...

You're allowed to sell "Private Label Rights" (the ability to edit the product and even call it your own) but NOT allowed to sell "Resale Rights" or "Master Resale Rights."

Personally, I find this license a bit strange but that doesn't matter, the original product creator has the right to set these restrictions.

So, it's important to know what you are obligating yourself to, before investing.

If the offer you are considering doesn't state the license on the sales page (many don't) then I would recommend emailing the product creator and inquiring about the license before investing.

I've purchased many products with some form of "rights" only to later find out the license wouldn't allow me to do what I wanted.
