Even though I am not getting high enough traffic at the moment, I want to monetize with affiliates.

I have a health and fitness blog that will obviously sell related products. specifically popular workout dvds that I have personally tried out.

Are there any suggestions, tips or anything to beware of when doing affiliates?

Seeing as people are buying things though my site, I feel there must be issues with information privacy and other things.

What can you suggest?

I don't know what it means: are you saying that you want to find affiliates to sell a product for you, or that you want to become an affiliate yourself?

  • Well getting affiliates can be hard since they will only promote products that tend to sell. If you offer a good % of the money then you can get some affiliates on board. like 75% is a good number for this.

    Okay, consider this:

    1) Read and abide by the Terms of Service of your chosen affiliate program. Don't waste energy looking for loopholes or ways to cheat. If you do, sooner or later you'll be posting one of those pathetic "I got banned, now what" posts.

    2) Keep in mind that the person buying (and therefore indirectly paying your commission) is a human being, not a number, email address or some kind of ATM. This will help you both in promting your offers and keeping your reputation intact.
