US Warriors: Happy Independence Day. Now make your own.

Profile picture of the author Kevin Riley by Kevin Riley Posted: 07/04/2009
Fourth of July is just kicking in on your side of the planet, and as us on the other side start heading off to sleep I wish you a good day of hot dogs, corn on the cob, apple pie, and fireworks.

May this also be the year you make your own Independence Day - independence from a 9-5 job, independence from financial worries, independence to run your life and your business as you wish. Today might be a good day to reflect on your goals - as you sit there in a post-prandial stupor.

Happy 4th of July to all you Americans

I only know this day for one thing, my birthday, but it is always my planned day for independance for the next year, and Riley's right, everyone should either celebrate their independance today, or begin their road to independance.

Thanks Kevin. I really appreciate it.
I've got goose bumps and a lump in my throat, seriously.
I got up this morning telling myself just that.

This day, this year, is my Independence Day Declaration.

I'm going to surround myself with believers, not doubters.
I'm going to work smarter not just harder; nothing gets done by wishing.
I'm going to give more to others; what goes around comes around.
I'm going to cherish my friends and family, you never know what tomorrow might bring.
I'm going to sit back more and relax; it's the journey not just the
    destination.
May you have a blessed and wonderful year as well - Kevin.

Thank you. I, for one, am proud to be a member of this and other international forums. I like this idea of a personal independence from the "job", "9-5", etc... I really like that.

Let's not forget to take a moment to remember our men and women who man posts around the world to protect and serve. Many of them can't be here to celebrate with their families today, the freedom this day represents for us, especially the freedom that allows us these great opportunities.

    Happy 4th of July.

    Warmest Regards,
    Marcus

Amen brother! Thanks for adding that.

We have a carnival in town as we do every year and every year it rains on the last day of the carnival (on the 4th). The carnival ends with a fireworks show.

Almost without fail the rain can't stop the fireworks. In other words don't let anyone rain on your parade!

    Happy 4th all!

    Hi Kevin,

What a great idea, Mr. Riley!
