    Yes, it can help, overall.

I have one niche site which is intended for more-or-less UK-specific traffic. I use a .uk domain-name for it (also helps significantly) and have it hosted inside the UK, too.

If you're interested in search-engine traffic, a site that's hosted in the UK and has a .uk domain-name gets slightly preferential treatment from Google in searches made from google.co.uk but that's slightly at the expense of its overall rankings on searches made from google.com.

    Heart Internet
(.co.uk) is an excellent UK hosting company, with great reliability and good, friendly customer service. I've been using them for many years (just for my UK niche site) and happily recommend them. It's not the very cheapest, I'm sure, but most UK hosting costs are in the same kind of ball-park anyway, so it doesn't really make much difference.

(I originally had my "UK-site" hosted in the US, with all my other sites, but moved it to the UK after reading what Google's Matt Cutts had to say on this subject, and it really did make a significant difference to me.)

Thanks for advice but seems to me very expensive comparing to fasthosts, almost double.

Also Fasthost is giving guarantee for 99.99% uptime, not sure how we can know if the website was up for the said time.

Is this worth to go for heart internet comparing the price with others? what you say?

      Regards,
      Jack

Sorry, Jack, I honestly don't know. I haven't looked at hosting prices for a while, and Heart is the only UK host I've ever used.

I used Heart Internet because they were well recommended to me as a company that "goes the extra mile" for customer service, and to someone technophobic and incompetent like me, that's worth paying a little more for. If there are ways for techie things to go wrong, I'm always the person to whom that's going to happen because I'm technophobic and incompetent. In other words, my requirements in a host are probably different from many people's, to be fair. But they're a nice company, anyway, and I trust them.

Heart internet are excellent and all of my important sites. If you are after a cheaper alternative try one.com. CS isn't as good and you don't get all the extras but you get hosting and a domain name for the first year for £11.
