Earning from adsense depends on what the cost per click is in your niche and where you get traffic from. you need to research first about your niche.

Give it a try, there is nothing to loose

Very little. On site advertising is not a method that most small time operators benefit from to any major degree as they don't get enough traffic to make tiny commissions add up. Not only that, folks are clicking away from your site for just a few cents each.

not much but why not build a base atleast and keep working on the site to get more traffic?

These gossip celebrity sites get a lot of traffic easily.

and keep working until you see decent number of clicks/day and income you were looking for.

    just my 2 cents.

Depends how much Google offers for the pay per click. Also depends on your ranking, traffic, quality. You should make the AdSense accord and see how much they offer. The best answer can be provided only by trial and error.

You can make good money from Adsense, but unless you have a site that generates tons of traffic, or have a number of sites under your belt, it would probably take a lot of time and continuous effort before you see any results.

Assuming you already have an existing entertainment/celebrity gossip site with 2k daily visits, the best way to find an answer for you would be to actually try placing some adsense ads and test the placements and types of ads. Wait it out for a couple of weeks at least and see the results. You should know by then whether it's worth it to continue running adsense or switch to a different model.

One of the best things about making money through adsense is the fact that you can get started with very little cost or even experience. Knowing what to do and how would give you a huge advantage over those who don't but it won't necessarily translate into actually being able to earn good money from it.

Amount of visitors is only one of the variables. It's pretty easy to figure out, if you have a general idea of the other factors.

Adsense income = amount of impressions X CTR X CPC

So let's say 3,000 impressions (from 2k visitors) ... Now you need to multiply that by the approximate CTR and CPC

The problem here is that many people over estimate the CPC and CTR

... But that will give you your answer. Let's say (as a wild guess) that you get .50 CTR and CPC

    That means your adsense income will equal 3,000/day X .50 X .50

    Which equals $7.5 per day

That, of course, is assuming your CTR and CPC are .50. Which they almost definitely will not be. Find those out and you'll have your real answer.
