Best hosting to use for squeeze pages

Hey everyone!

I was wondering what people on this forum recommend to use for good quality and hopefully cheap hosting to drive traffic to a squeeze page? Everything I want to do will be based around building an email list. In order to do this I want to drive paid & organic traffic to my squeeze page, my blog with the webform to optin, as well as to an information product which I would also use to build a list from.

Is shared hosting like hostgator enough or would I require a VPS such as beyond hosting?

If you want quality choose BlueHost/HostGator
If you want quality cheap hosting,go with Arvixe
I used Hostgator, but switched to Arvixe and I am very happy with the results,as I got the same service for half the price.

Awesome thanks a lot. So a VPS wouldn't be required for this type of thing? Even if I used a video for my squeeze page/information product to get people to opt into my list?

yes, reply already on your pm. Unless you have huge traffic maybe you could use VPS. But not necessary because you can use Cloud service like Amazon s3 for your videos. Cheap. But free one would be Youtube. (make it secret if you don't want people to search for your video)

For Hosting purposes in what you are doing, I would go with Hostgator. It just kind of rises above everything else in my opinion

lol I was asking about what is best to use for hosting, a shared hosting service like hostgator or a VPS like beyond hosting. Basically how I will be building up my list is through a squeeze page, a webform on my site and through an information product where people who buy will be subscribed to my list. The information product will be on a separate website, so I need to know which is better the hostgator plan which allows unlimited domains or beyond hosting. I will be driving paid traffic to the sites and using video which needs to load quick enough so its not off putting to the visitor.

I found Amazon s3 with cloudfront together is so cheap and very fast. It only works with static html, no php, but is super fast and reliable.

Well it depends on the amount of traffic you decide to send to your squeeze page.

But i would assume that something like baby plan hostgator would be enough, you don't really need your own server if you don't send more than 1000's of visitors a day to your website(s).

I 2nd that. If anything OVER 1,000, BeyondHosting is by far the best. But a tad bit on the expensive side.

Shared hosting is going to be fine for a squeeze page, Also I just want to mention that I highly recommend that you dont over think the little things at this point. If your just getting started you should not be fretting over which hosting is going to be best, you should be focused on how your going to get traffic, how your going to word your squeeze page, making an excellent freebie to give in exchange for the opt in etc.

Shared hosting will be more than enough with what you're trying to achieve.

Load time is only crucial when you need your page to load ASAP before they reach that close button. In most cases, due to interruption marketing.

Ok I see, so basically its more needed for stuff like CPA. I do have some money left on my Lead Impact account which I was thinking about using to drive traffic to my squeeze page. Of course for that I am guessing I would need a VPS for faster loading times for the popups.

Your post title says squeeze page but you are also wanting to send people to a blog so which is it? Me personally I have my blog set up on WP but my squeeze page is a static HTML file so it loads faster. I would not worry about a VPS until you start getting some heavy traffic.

Speaking of which do you have a tracking solution set up yet? At the least least Google Analytics. You can also use Google PageSpeed insights.

      Hey DreamTFK,

I will be trying to use both a squeeze page and a blog. I like the idea of having a separate squeeze page from the blog so I might look into trying that out.

Haven't set Google Analytics up yet but will do once I set up the site. Just wanted to know a few things first before I started.

      Thanks for the help.

  • I use hostmonster VPA and run optimize press 2.0 squeeze pages with no problem!

I use to have 2 dedicated (very expensive) servers on Softlayer before I got sick and had to sell my business. I'm getting back into affiliate marketing again and finding hostmonster is fast enough (just the vps not shared). In any case try them out the support is amazing they solved a problem with one of my affiliate blogs instantly (American tech not overseas). I'm not selling hostmonster by the way just want to spare you going to the wrong host. Good lukc.

If you are creating a squeeze page, you won't need anything so elaborate or expensive as VPS. Though maybe you anticipate receiving thousands of hits daily on that page. Shared hosting is a good option when starting out for almost any niche as it allows you to test the waters cheaply to see if your idea is appealing to visitors.

      Hey JohnnyPlan,

Thanks for your post and advice. The reason why I was considering using a VPS is because I have money in a Lead Impact account which I was going to use to drive traffic to my squeeze page. For that I know I would need to have a VPS for the popups.

Sorry, I don't see your need for VPS for that. You could use simple shared hosting with bigger bandwitdth. Using VPS will cost you more but its really unnecessary. with VPS, the lowest I could see is $10/month but that is not managed VPS. If you want the simplest one, it will cost a lot. Because you need to install Fantastico, Cpanel (cost extra $10/month) and many more.. I bit disagree spending more unless you know already bout VPS and most important how much traffic you going to get to your website.

Thanks again for the help razrorz18. It was mainly because I wanted to know what hosting would be best to use for driving paid traffic like PPV popups to my squeeze page and if shared hosting was enough to load a squeeze page with a video fast enough. I basically wanted to have a hosting package which was good for everything I needed, but I guess shared hosting is enough fr my current situation.

For the simple shared hosting what type of bandwidth do you suggest? I will most likely go with the hostgator baby plan as, I have a few domains I want to use.

There are no such thing as Unlimited Bandwidth for hosting packages and its is a gimmick to get more customers. What you can do now is to check your current website traffic, and how much monthly consume. Let say your monthly traffic bandwidth is 2GB, you could multiple by 10 or 20 if you serious driving your traffic to the website. In that case probably you need maybe 20GB to 40GB monthly bandwidth as reference. There are many hosting packages that you could choose, same as I recommend to you also. The link is below in my signature. You should use Youtube or Amazon s3 for your videos as it will save your bandwidth and making your website bit slow.

This is all my personal experience after using shared, reseller and VPS account. It maybe different from others but as far as I can suggest is to invest your money to other things that can help you to progress. Don't take too long deciding the hosting. Many hosting provide money back guarante, you could subscribe and if your not satisfy, place refund. One more suggestion, please choose monthly instead or annual subscription as it will give you more freedom to transfer host.

Unless you are getting immense amount of traffic don't spend your money on crazy hosting fees just get something simple, cache the page and use cloudfare if you are going with WordPress as your CMS + use WP Total Cache.

This would make it extremely fast and that should be all you need!
