Need Advice on Domain Names

Hey Warriors, Need your help if you can.

I have just recently bought 2 domain names.

Both are .ca ( Canadian )

Both are in the same niche ( vacation )

Each one has just under 7,000 searches in Canada according to Google adwords

One is rated at 1.65 per click the other is 1.58 per click.

Question is. Are these valuable domains ?

All input needed please.

Seems like they are based on the search volume and the CPC you have.

The metrics most SEO's and niche site developers use around here is 1,000 search volume and at least $1 CPC. You have that beat handily.

    James,

Neither one has intrinsic value; that is, they don't carry value based on the domain name alone. The vast majority of domain names fall into this category. Unless you own a very rare one word commercially viable name like cars.com, pizza.com or loans.com the name's value is going to be added based on the development of the web site.

Value can be added by generating constant traffic to the domain, by adding a lot of subscribers to the site, and especially by generating consistent and growing revenue on the site.

Dollar value is always dependent upon what you can sell the site for. You can have the site appraised and an artificial "value" assigned . . . but until you find a willing and able buyer, the value can only be a wishful estimate.

Their value right now is all up to you and what you do with the domains!

The best to you in your business.

What do you plan on doing with the domains? To me that is the bigger indication of value.

When he is looking at CPC, that indicates to me that he is thinking of developing a niche site based on SEO, and having some form of Adsense code in there (or something similar).

Not really sure what I am going to do with them. That's why I was looking for advice.

      The names are

      canadavacationhomes.ca

      canadavacationrental.ca

Both in Canada and have just under 7k searches a piece.

Possible affiliate as I start to search I see most sites listed on the 1st page offer that or I just might sell them if the price is right.

These metrics don't mean a whole lot anymore. It just comes down to the brand value of the domain itself.

    James,

Short answer: Yes. Though you'd be safer with .coms

How much value depends on quite a number of factors, however. More than we've mentioned thus far in this thread. I've been a domainer for roughly 15 years. I'd happily buy and sell all day long the type of domains you have. To assign an actual value, though, the actual names themselves will need to be considered. Some markets are better than others for these domains. The quoted figures are, for instance, good for one market, but poor for another. Not only that but we have to consider past sales prices and the type of buyers that exist in this market (domain buyers). I could ramble all day.

Upshot: I would get them appraised. Your best bet would be asking for public valuations on DNForum. That way you may even get offers. I could be one of them. LOL

Edit: You posted before I was finished writing here and I've just seen the domains. There's some value there. I'd have to run them through a few tests (currently just in the middle of something) but rest assured, you can sell them.

Thanks for the advice. Feel free to run them through some tests and let me know.
