What Causes a Video to Play Two Versions?

When people watch a video on a certain website, and they're watching it for the 2nd time, "some" listeners are reporting they hear two instances (as in one video playing twice...one with a slight delay) of the video's sound.

The problem doesn't happen the first time through for anyone...only those watching for the second time.

The video is not on youtube but on the website's hosting account.

What could be the cause and the fix?

It sounds like it's either some sort of loop, or the visitors' computers are caching the video first time round and playing it again from their hard drives at the same time as the new video is being downloaded.

What player are you using? Does this happen to every visitor or just certain ones? Do you know what they have in common - browser type, operating system etc.?

If I were you, I'd put the video on YouTube and embed it into my website for the time being, then set up a duplicate page on another directory to work on while I sorted the problem out.

Try putting the video on YouTube, then embed it into your site and ask someone to play it to see if the same thing happens. The player that the site uses may be faulty and that's why it conflicts with something when playing the second time.
