Warriors, May seem like a painfully junior question and I may be complicating it in my head, but I need some major help. My wife wrote a great ebook and I want to set it up so people can purchase the ebook via PayPal and get instant download. I have hosting, but I am having trouble putting the pieces together. Will anyone please direct me to where I can make my wife's ebook instantly downloadable (securely) following PayPal payment? Thank you. |

I created a video that shows how to do this. Specifically with xSitePro...but the concept applies to whatever software you use as the idea is just to get the code that you'll attach to a button. Here's the video: |

| You'll never win a dispute as the seller of a digital product. Issue a prompt refund and move on. Don't lose any sleep over it.

If you follow the steps when you log in to paypal then merchant accounts you will see the buy now buttons. If you have your own buy now button you can put the exact URL to that button into paypal with the exact URL when the payment has gone through so the buyer gets instant access to their product. Copy and paste the given code to wherever you want to promote your product, sales page, blog etc and you are ready to get your payments. John |

You will always get a small percentage of refund requests that are unwarranted. I suggest issuing an immediate refund and then making sure to remove the customer from your autoresponder database should you have one. Also, if you are creating a PayPal button to take payments, you can select the option that says you do not require a shipping address.

@HappyCommando - While e-junkie is a good solution, there is something to consider before signing up... If you get the $5/mo package, you won't be able to host the downloads on your own server. This is both good and bad. PRO's: *Hosting on e-junkie's server reduces bandwidth on your own *e-junkie automatically delivers the download link to your customer and it IS protected for whatever length of time you select or download attempts CON's: E-junkie will add your customer's PayPal email to your records but it won't go automatically to your autoresponder. So, if you are using an autoresponder to follow up with your customers, you will have to add them manually. Because of this, I have the $18/mo plan that allows downloads to be hosted on my own server. After a customer pays, e-junkie redirects them to my download page and I offer the ability for my customers to immediately join my customer list for updates/ further info. The package I am referring to has these qualities listed on the pricing page: 60 (products) 500 (MB of Storage Space) YES (can host downloads) $18/mo Hope this helps! |

I just send them to a download page after they pay. When you create your paypal button, you can set a redirect URL after the customer has payed. Basically, after the customer pays, they will get redirected to your download page and can then download the files that they purchased. Just go into your paypal account and create a "Buy Now" button, then on category 2(I think) you can set up the confirmation URL and redirect URL there. It's free aswell |

However, you can burn your product (pdf, software, etc) to a disc and then offer it for sale. (provided you have created the product or have the rights to sell the product on an auction site like eBay). PS - You can offer a digital download in addition to the shipped CD/DVD as a "bonus" but you still must deliver the physical product.

Thank you, Warriors! I decided to go with the simple PayPal button option. It isn't terribly secure, though it isn't like I am giving away the Queen's secrets. I really appreciate your time and words of wisdom. Thank you.

| I'd recommend using Ejunkie. You can get a free two-week trial, and after that it's only $5 a month!

Following on from this, I am going to be considering selling ebooks but was concerned about sending a secure download link- I don't want the page containing the ebook to be listed in search engines, etc. Is it possible to have an ebook securely available for download once purchased from a Wordpress Blog? Sorry to hijack the thread! |
