Hi Warriors,

Interested in what your results have been like have you cross tested the subscribers with a $20 solo ad and a $20 Free WSO on the forum. I used the same offer with the same back end offer and below are my results.

What were your results like?
Here are the results I got:

$20 solo ad (50 clicks)
20 optins 0 backend sales
Cost per subscriber: $1

$20 Free WSO (I got 62 clicks so far they are still coming in)
33 optins 2 backend sales
Cost per subscriber $0.18!

How have your results compared?
#free #solo #wso

Well, it really depends on the quality of the Solo Ad that you're buying and your sales funnel but in general Free WSOs give a slightly better result.
The problem with it is that you can't really scale it up, like a Solo Ad buy...

Your results speak for themselves. I've tried solo ads in the past but didn't get any worthwhile outcome as compared to conducting campaigns in different marketing forums for obtaining subscribers.

The quality of the solo ad offers have deteriorated over time, and now a days its very hard to come by any good list in the solo ads area.

You'll get better results with free Wso's, and make more sales, but as stated above, you can't really scale the traffic.

You can keep bumping the thread but results will go down.

But still if you talk about just conversion rates then free Wso's are better (from own experience).

I have read numerous times on threads and in a few WSOs I have purchased that a FREE WSO will often work better. Of course as stated above it depends on the quality of the list and how targeted the mailing really was.

It would be really hard to get a quality solo ad for $20, dang near impossible. There are problems with free WSO's, though. Scaling like people said is a problem and for each WSO you have to put the time and effort into creating a new offer.

There are several solo vendors with proven track record of sales and good optin percentage. Before purchase, you just need to be sure whether the solo vendor is a proven one!

The income depends on the offer and where you promote the offer, e.g. targeted vs. untargeted market. Say you are selling the best product in your market that has a high price tag via a high performance solo ad to your targeted market vs. a free WSO to an untargeted market. Obviously, the results are better all around when you target the intended market. That in itself is Marketing 101.

Yes, excellent copy, the appropriate sales funnel, etc. improve the income, e.g. ROI. However, when we promote a targeted product to the target market our copy, funnel etc. is secondary marketing that earns an additional income. It is often called.. upstaging or upsales.

The concept is "Sell to your target market" and the secondary concept is "Upsale to your target market" with focus on "Promote to your target market."

awesome results. i think comparatively on a small scale if you're
just doing a straight $20 for $20 comparison a free wso would typically
    outperform a $20 solo ad.

however you can't necessarily scale a wso that's free past
    the own internal traffic.

So yes on a small scale then go with the free wso, but if
you want to build a real business, i say do both.

right now you're looking at your cost per subscriber on
a short test, typically most experts don't really see a
empirical data on what a lead is actually worth until day 30-60.

whats to say one of the leads on your solo ad list doesn't buy a
$997 offer from you on day 40 effectively making your cost
    per lead nothing?

  • I have tried both and maybe I did it wrong but I got better results with Solos versus free WSO.

WSO costs $20 and then you have to create your sales page. If you create the sales yourself, then yes you do gain. But if you outsource it and pay to create it, and if you even make 3-4 sales, I don't think you make any profit...

I've had better results with solo ads.

One thing to remember is a free WSO is not guaranteed as to how many subscribers you will get, so in some ways you're comparing apples to oranges. Depending on your sales copy a free WSO has a highly variable end amount of generated subscribers. A solo ad is a guaranteed minimum set amount.

Additionally, the amount of work going into a free WSO is not much less work than one that's for sale, where sometimes it might be worth it just to list the WSO for sale as opposed to free.

If you have a good back end in place as well as a great follow up series..and know how to click bank and do ad swaps, you will make your money back with solos and much, much more.

I think "free WSO's" are being phased out. Although still allowed at the moment, as the new rules haven't yet been finalised or published, I suspect it might be a good idea for anyone planning one to list it reasonably promptly.

(After that, I suppose the nearest equivalent comparison would be between a "free Classified offer" and a Solo Ad, instead?).

Make sure you have good quality solo ads and work with both

  • If you're looking for a serious way to build your list, then don't go for offering a FREE WSO.

You either go for solo ads or you just create a WSO. Just create a WSO. Why? Because you'll be making money WHILE you are building your list.

Offering a free WSO is great, but the problem is usually you'll only get freebie seekers and not always buyers.

I will take 5 buyers to my list than 50 freebie seekers any day. (This is great for when you try and have others pay for solo ads to your own list because you would have a a decent sized list but with yers instead of freebie seekers.)

I know you were looking for something different and a much better answer where I tell you either solo ads or a FREE WSO, but just offer a paid WSO.

If you have $20 and only that much, just use that to pay for the payment of the WSO.
