Getting Started with Clickbank & Article Marketing, Anything I should know?

I've been dabbling in blogging and Adsense income for a little while, but I've decided to get started with promoting Clickbank products. Here's what I have in mind:

1) Choose a low-competition niche that has 10,000+ searches per month

2) Pick a related Clickbank product

3) Write some articles, or have them written, put them on GoArticles

4) Use Angela's backlinks

5) umm... wait for sales?

It *seems* at this point that income from promoting affiliate products is easier to come by than Adsense income, but I'm pretty sure that's deceiving. What kind of conversion numbers do you guys see for people who view your articles?

Any tips or advice to help a noob succeed?

You have the right idea, man. But make sure that your keywords are ultra targeted to the niche. Place your articles on EzineArticles as well. With that, there will be no way you can't get traffic to your money site.

But turning that traffic into cash requires hypnotic persuasion, which is something I'm unable to do. But you can use the feel, felt, found method (You feel this, I felt this, I found this and I no longer felt this and you will no longer feel this). And even that requires some sort of persuasion to get them to pull out those wallets.

Oh yeah, get a list built so you can establish some trust.

You are on the right track. Just one thing. Submitting a few articles won't make you any money unless you just happen to write that one great article that everyone wants to read. Article marketing is about submitting lots of articles, not just a few.

Good luck. Keep submitting several at least, every day if you can.

And use ezinearticles. If you were going to use goarticles just because they accept affiliate links try not to.

You should use your own link and have it redirect. If you use affiliate links people will just use their own id and get the commission for themselves.

Thanks man... I figured there's more to it. I'm good at writing, but find it kinda hard to focus on writing content I'm not really passionate about. I'll get it done though. Angela and a few others say that Goarticles responds more to backlinks than others, which is why I thought I'd go with Goarticles, but I'll do Ezine as well. What do you do if you find that your niche has a lot of other articles on the topic? I find that to be the case pretty frequently on ezine.

Questions > what percentage of visitors convert for you? Is a single sale a day considered good or bad?

Thanks mikeyman! I intend to use ezine as well with a redirect, but heard that goarticles responds better to backlinking (i.e. gets to page 1 and possibly #1 faster).

Do you think there's any benefit in the ezine link pointing to a site of mine that will further help to convince them of the product, or is that one unnecessary link in the chain?

    loybond,

Your steps are more or less there. At the same time, do you know...

    1. About optimizing your articles for maximum SEO effects?

    - e.g. Mentioning of keywords once every 100 words and so on...

    2. How to write irresistible titles and resource boxes for your articles?

    - e.g. Several irresistible title templates such as "How to..", "7 Tips to...", "10 Surefire ways to..."

About resource boxes - You should always have a strong call to action for your readers so they become potential customers.

    3. Other promotional techniques to get your articles traffic?

    - e.g. Social Bookmarking

Article marketing might sound simple with the breakdown you did above but there's several other crucial elements in it that you have to take care of.

    About Ezinearticles

Ezinearticles is the top article directory with PR 6 so you rank a lot easier with them. But in order to use Ezinearticles, you'll have to set up a domain for your affiliate links.

e.g. yourdomain.info => redirects to your affiliate link => redirects to merchant

So what you can do is just purchase an .info domain from namecheap.com. For about $3 (they're having a promo now), you get WHOISGuard together with it so you can protect your privacy.

      Hey Dominic...

#1 - Do you mean looking at my keyword density? Is there anything else?

#2 - I've looked at those kinds of titles, but do they really work? To me, they seem very "market-y," but if they work, then, I guess I'll use them.

Do you have any templates or ideas for resource boxes that you think work well?

#3 - I didn't think of social bookmarking my ezine articles. Would it be safe to use multiple sites in one day, or would there be a detrimental effect (like sandboxing with blogs)?

Thanks man! BTW, just noticed you're from Singapore. Been there many times, love it.

The crucial thing is to have patience. I started Clickbank in April and only last month chalked up my first sale. Yes, slow going. But what we have to appreciate is we are completely new to the whole IM thing and to get even close to mastering it, we need to take time to learn.
