Effective traffic tip: Interviews with niche leaders
When you interview the top names in your niche, your blog gets on the radar. Also, you appeal to the ego of the people you're interviewing. At the very least, they'll tweet your interview url or share it on their facebook page or G+ page. The big payoff is you gain credibility in your niche because of 'credibility by association.' Also, you can do some digging around and look for 'background' blog posts by bloggers in your niche. Many wouldn't have a problem linking to your interview as part of their existing profile on a niche leader. Finally, followers of niche leaders might link to you.
Note: You need to keep at it. Just publishing one or even five interviews won't be enough. You have to do it continuously. Of course, you also need to internally link to your top-tier content.
