Have you seen this idea implemented before?

I'm curious if anyone has done or seen this idea before.

Idea: An Internet Marketing course where it teaches how to make money online.

Twist: Immediately send a small portion of the payment back to the buyer.

For example, you charge $97 for the course and it automatically sends $7 back with "You made a sale" and then start off with email campaign or provide product.

It seems like an idea that someone might have implemented before.

Then its fraudulent because they didnt make the sale whatsoever. That system is scheming people that they made the first sale when they actually just showed their own money. Its wrong ethically and provides no value to the buyer but the false fact that it will show proof of the fake sale will only show fake value of the product therefore making the owner of the product a scam artist.

There have been programs that have done this. They'll never admit that they were the ones who caused the sale for their customers, but it did happen and it sucked for the customers involved.

This is how it went down: customer pays $XXX for the product because it guarantees they will make money with almost no effort.

Within 24 hours their account credits a small commission of $5 - 10...which looks like $4.90 or $9.10 to make it seem like a fee was taken out (to look legit).

Then a message is sent to the customer praising them for making a sale with literally no effort. And if they would like to share the program with family and friends they're free to do so

So the customer gets their invalid sale (the account then registers that the commission is refunded before any payment is paid out but refunding the $XXX product is out of the question before a sale was registered on the account) and the seller makes some unscrupulous $$$.

haha that's definitely the wrong path and in fact I wouldn't suspect such a thing could be happening, and I guess neither do the customers...

It's funny cause it's almost like stumbling into creating a pyramid-scheme without even knowing it.

With the wording "you made a sale" it's definitely misleading.

  • I hate deception and that is what this sounds like. If you look more and more of our life and the #Q@#$@# that is forced on is is deception that when true selling happens it looks and feels refreshing. Just stick to truth and sell truth and feel good about it. Don't pull tricks, schemes, deceptions or the other #Q#$@#$ gurus are "teaching".

But that's me and I'm an endangered dinosaur about to go extinct.

Yup I can't imagine a context where providing money back would be a good excuse for leveraging anything. I also don't know how to delete this thread haha

Pandora's box have been opened but at least you got the right advice. My motto is the more you help others get what they want, the more you will get what you want.

What would you accomplish with this? Why would you want to do it?

In theory, without thinking of a scam happening would provide some context to take the customer through the course.

An extrapolated version would like a product $375 and send $75 back for Facebook ads and follow course to optimized on it.

Essentially just thought of it as a jump off point for course.

Luckily you decided to ask about this idea instead of going ahead and implementing it. Now that you know its a bad idea, you can move on to other things that are truly helpful to people.

haha thanks! I wouldn't actually do this as I don't sell any type of training, but I agree! it's definitely a hilariously bad idea.

I've got to be honest its not the best idea why not just charge $90 in the first place rather than $97 and leave it as it is. sometimes you can overcomplicate things. Better idea would be to send them a free product after you have signed up that way they may feel they're getting something additional at no extra charge.

Absolutely, that is a much better idea. Captures the concept, essentially a gift right after purchase.

Interesting, does this program have anything to do with making headphones?

Also what are the chances of Apple buying my company after said purchase.

      Haha, thanks for laugh buddy!
