Google.com Outages

Is it just me and my connection (I am in South Africa) or is Google and it's products like youtube etc experiencing more outages lately?

Maybe once or twice a week or so, when trying to access Google it just keeps loading. Never realy used to happen this much before. Just seems to me there are more outages recently where the servers are not available...

    So it wasn't just me? I thought it was a problem with my Internet Connection!

    Yes, it is indeed unusual to have so many downtimes, I particularly noticed this with Youtube.

      Exactly, it is just Google and youtube related sites for me.

      It is just that google is almost ALWAYS on, and lately they are not. I can get into other sites OK but for the past couple of weeks quite a few times google and youtube etc is not available. It did not use to be like this.

    I'm not experiencing any lags from Google. It looks like it's more of an internet connection problem. Have you tried other browsers? Maybe it's just a slow computer performance issue.

    Maybe it's just bad weather as my own internet connection keeps going out (no lights on the modem) so possibly either connection or modem issue. This happens to everyone.

    I'm having this problem too in the last couple of weeks, even I can't sign in to Analytics (front page loads OK). But the problem gone if I reset my modem so I thought it's my ISP DNS or something.

    They are usually not off for long, couple of minutes, but they do tend to disappear more recently than in the past for me. One is so used to it always being on that it is noticeable when they are not.
