Affiliate landing page + email + transaction = how to track / relate?

1. A visitor lands on a certain landing page with an e-mail opt-in (say, AWeber). That visitor fills in an e-mail address and clicks the "Continue" button.
2. The visitor arrives the "money" page, the product I promote.
3. The visitor buys the product. My tracker knows about it.

Now, using a tracker which generates "TID" (or whatever), how do I relate the e-mail to that "TID"?

In other words, I want to know which e-mail resulted in a sale (in addition to other information that the tracker provides me with, related to the transaction).
Of course that the above should not come in the price of giving up on the source "keyword" for example, that generated the visit.

Which tracker allows that? I don't mind paying - please do put an affiliate link, I'll gladly grant you the sale if your answer helps me

How is it done (link/youtube please)?

  • I use CPV lab it does that but you need to contact the owner of the money page and have them install a tracking pixel so it fires then you will know what email or add or banner or keyword resulted in the sale. With CPA offers (and some are CPS ) it's easy they have in offer details where you can just cut/paste the tracking pixel and it's instant. For your own products I use optimize press it has a place to put the tracking pixel but if you dont' use OP2 you can get plugins that will let you put the tracking pixel on that page.

I don't know if I understand your question correctly (must be the hangover. lol) but using your own autoresponder service you can.

    Here's how for Aweber:

    1. Install email Web analytics.

You can view it here: https://help.aweber.com/entries/2175...Web-Analytics-

    2. On your 'reports' tab hit 'settings'.

    3. Under 'sale tracking' section then go to 'New Goal Web Page." Enter the URL of the check out page (not your sales page).

Note: Each hit to this page will be tracked as a sale

    4. For the 'event type' just indicate 'sales'. You can even add the amount of purchase on the next field.

    5. Just press the '+' or the add button and you're all set.

    Hope that helps.

    @HelpingYouBeAnExpert & @John Pagulayan:

    Thanks for the replies but:

    1. I know what pixel tracking is. It's not what my question is about.

    2. I'd like to separate things, I don't want to track my campaigns with my e-mail provider.

    3. To clarify the question: My need is quite simple: Relate an e-mail address to transaction.

The "normal" process, without solving my issue, would be:
    a. Visitor gets on a landing page
    b. Visitor enters e-mail, this actually refers him to the e-mail provider (say AWeber), and then immediately he is redirected to the real product page.
    c. Visitor buys, the tracking pixel does its magic and I can see that on the tracker's (say Prosper202) reports.

My need adds an extra requirement here:
Associate the e-mail address of the visitor with the transaction being tracked by the tracker.

How do I do that and which tracker suits me best?

I hope that clears the question. Thank you

the way i set this up in my business, is create separate tracking link in my tracking service (hypertracker) for each email followup that's scheduled. that way i can see what emails perform the best, and move the highest net epc emails to the front of the campaign and order them by earnings per click.

That's what i thought initially so I gave out something he could setup for free that does just that. But he clarified himself and he's looking to connect the email ADDRESS of the one who bought and not the email campaign.

Haven't heard of some software that does just that. I mean for all intents and purposes, why would you want to know the email address of the one who bought?

      1. You can always put them automatically on your buyer's list once they bought the product (this can be easily setup on any selling platform).

      2. Isn't the email copy which made the sale more important?
