Default Inputs on article strategy welcome

Hi everyone, this is obviously my first post. I'm currently unemployed and have tons of time to learn something new, so I figure now's as good a time as any to take a crack at internet marketing. I'm seeing a lot of hype about "bum marketing" so that's where I'm starting.

Anyway, hope I'm not too noobish with my question here, but I've been reading conflicting things on publishing articles.....so my question is what is more important in your opinions, putting out as many articles as possible or concentrating on a few really great high quality articles? Thanks for any contributions!

Do both - put out great quality articles and a lot of them.

Also, don't forget to create more backlinks through other ways. Don't just rely on your articles.

Participate in communities, post comments on other people's blogs and add the best quality you can.

Quality is definitely more important, and over time the same quality and then quantity (because you'll just keep writing more and more quality stuff) will make things happen. Find a niche and focus on it

BUM is always an option and can be an easy place to start but just remember that when you are choosing a niche and keywords that you don't make the mistake of trying to take on highly competitive markets, because you can type as many articles as you like and never see much results.

To answer you question though, quality is always a good rule of thumb. You may find if you write quality that people may want to use your article on their sites too.

All the best, you are in for an adventure!

Hi NewBum!

Welcome! The successful bum marketers setup their articles to attract readers from within the article directories as well from outside by getting visibility on the search engines.

There are a lot of great resources on bum marketing so take the time to learn all you can. Pay particular focus to how you can maximize each article to attract the most traffic.

It's also a great idea to start to establish yourself on forums that relate to your articles' niches. Take the time to contribute on the forums there and once your articles are up and running, start driving traffic to them from your forum postings.

Welcome New Bum,

If I were you, I would make sure that you only put out quality articles. Quality is more important than quantity but you do want as many articles out there as you can get.

Make sure you do your keyword research but don't go over the top with keyword stuffing.

Also, instead of just submitting all your articles to a directory or directories, set yourself up a blog and perhaps a Squidoo Lens and Hubpage as well.

Let me know if you would like to submit an article, or multiple articles, to my site.

Ok, i might soon do a new WSO since Article Marketing really, really rocks.

As a tip, do some keyword research and write targeted articles around good keywords you discover. You can read a bit in my thread here: Article Marketing

I now made $188 in one day from only one article.

This can seriously, seriously expanded on. You can use a simple strategy and just use articles and use your URLs for "clickout urls", for the sales. OR you can in addition make your own sites and first link to your OWN site - which in addition will boost your rankings. So its basically two pre-sells:

1) The article itself can pre-sell
2) YOUR site then can pre-sell

I am very impressed by having made almost $200 in one day from clickbank with one single article without having spend a penny on PPC.

You know what i *just* did:

I went to clickbank and was looking for a current high conveting offer paying over $40 bucks. I found another nice one and plugged one main keyword into "Market Samurai". (You can read in the other thread how i find a potential good keyword).

And i found a good keyword.

I quickly grabbed a domain and then i made a domain redirect to the product using my clickbank link.

Now i wrote an article around this keyword, keyword in title, some blah blah around the subject.

Added my "we recommend blahblah"-style link at the end of the article and submitted.

It can not get easier than that..an idiot can do it

But the beauty of it really comes if you have your own pre-sell site (instead of just a redirect) and then in addition optimize your site, and interlink articles, site, squidoo, blogger....

then you not only get the raw sales, but the high page rank of the EZA or goarticles article will ALSO go towards your site - double the goodies. Sales from the article AND if you rank your site high up in Google from people going on your site.

My advice would be stop reading and start doing and testing.

Every one use his own strategy, and reading too much will confuse you.

Submit at least 5 articles per day at EZA, and also use web 20 sites, plus 5 other sites like goarticles.com

All the best,
Franck

I don't think it's an either/or situation Benny. If you're going to write your own articles, pump out as many as you can without compromising quality, as your name will be attached to it. If you're going to outsource the article writing process, you deserve nothing but well-written articles as well, as you're going to spend your hard-earned money for them.

Articles, at least in the way you're planning to use them, will be targeting people, primarily. If people don't like what they read, because it's poorly written or the information conveyed to is too hackneyed to be worth their attention, they won't even try to view your resource box.

I wouldn't stay away from highly competitive markets as long as you can find keyword phrases in that market that are not too competitive. If you can find some good keywords that get a lot of searches without too many other sites optimizing for that keyword then you can compete in any market.

Highly competitive markets are competitive because there is money to be made. I would say don't make the mistake of going after highly competitive keywords but don't be afraid to look for good keywords in competitive markets.

Just be forewarned that until you find a good article writer to outsource your articles, you will, in most cases, end up having to spend time rewriting what your purchased.

Good article writers are hard to find.....But they are out there!
