hi, just some background information, I have to use a word recognition program due to the fact that I have something called intention tremor, for instance I have to use 2 hands to control my mouse otherwise it goes all over the place. So you'll understand that typing is out of the question. I have Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9.5 preferred, in fact I am dictating this message with it so far I have had to make one correction. The question is. is Dragon 10 so much better than Dragon 9.5 that it would make a substantial difference in my dictation. the question boils down to the fact, ' is Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 so much better than Dragon nine that the extra expense would be worth it? ' Thanks Michael |

Michael, My experience in switching from 9.5 to 10 was the same a Shaun's. I found 10 to be more accurate and and even a bit faster. They are now at V11 which works with Vista64 bit processing. V10 only works in 32 bit mode. :-Don |

I purchased Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 about 6 to 7 months ago. I found it to be one of the most valuable pieces of software ever purchased! It works right out of the box with very little training as the previous poster mentioned. With some training, you can pretty much make it do whatever you want. In addition, when it comes to writing e-mails, articles, blog posts or anything else it's much faster and accurate than sitting typing at the keyboard I never tried version 9.5 so I can't comment whether it is worth it to upgrade. What I do know is that version 10 is really, really great. Just my opinion |

I was thinking about trying V11 too. Last time I tried version 9 and it didn't work so well but maybe 11 will perform little better.

Michael, I upgraded from 9.5 to 10 and, as others have mentioned, the performance is much better. So, depending upon your upgrade cost, I'd say yes.. it's worth stepping up to version 10. John |

There is no 11. At least it is not in my knowledge. However I use 10. And there is a funny thing I know about comparing. The best way you will realize that there is a difference is by getting back to the old one. After using the 10 go back to 9.5 and you will realize what you are missing. That is the trick if you really want to compare.
