Hi all

Can anyone offer me their advice on sending bulk email? My business is still in its baby shoes, and I need to send bulk email. I don't want to use Aweber or iContact or a similar service yet, as my list is still very small and manageable! What is the best open source software you can recommend? I am using Joomla as my CMS, is there any extensions to send bulk email which will be worthwhile?

To your success!

I am not sure why you don't want to use a service since they make managing and sending emails VERY easy. If it is the cost I would look at Mail Chimp. They have a free plan where you can have up to 100 subscribers and you can send 600 emails a month. Their plans scale nicely too.

Thanks for your advice! The thing is, I only need to send one e-mail to the list I generated. I don't have a monthly newsletter, and I don't need one, thus I don't need that kind of service. All I want is open source softwate to send bulk e-mail once. But I need some advice, I am scared my e-mail will be classified as spam (which it is not) when I use an untrustworthy bulk e-mail sender!

Yes, you are right! I just thought about this option as well. And the advantage is, Aweber and similar services must definitely be whitelisted...am I right??

You'll have a much better chance of getting your mail through. Plus the system can check and flag your message is it has "spam" words in it, so you can switch them out before you send.

Why wouldn't you want a monthly newslettter? Or send them more then once? If you've read this forum at all, time and time again, there could be money in a list, even a small one
