Anyone here use Moonfruit websites?

INTERNET MARKETING

Just curious - there's some Twitter promotional campaign going on about Moonfruit's free websites. I'd never even heard of Moonfruit but, looking at their site - Free Website Builder - Moonfruit - Beautiful websites, simply - they look like a good free website alternative, sort of like Weebly - Create a free website and a free blog, or for that matter blogspot blogs.

When I first started in IM and had no money to spend on designing a decent website something like Moonfruit would have been helpful. I used Weebly.com for a while for my writing website - I had free article samples, a pricing package, and an "about me" section on there, along with some testimonials.

For you newbie broke IMers - sites like these can be a good way to get up and running for free.

I know there are some other sites like this that offer free hosting and free customizable templates but I can't remember what they are at the moment.

Wordpress.com is NOT a good free website hosting choice for internet marketers because they're very strict about not using their sites for profit.

Never seen this one myself either, though I agree, does look like some nice sites. Course always have to wonder what the catch is..lol

Thanks for the link Dana.
Some nice templates are offered there. This is definitely something
newbies can use. The only risk is that these type of companies can
quickly run out of money.

True, they have to be able to monetize somehow. I assume they offer extra services for which they charge a monthly fee.

Or they hope to build it up and sell it off for Gazillions to some one like the big G.

  I just skimmed the page. I figured it would take less time than speculating whether or not they had a monetization strategy.

Wow I really like the way moonfruit is using a twitter contest to spread the word about their site, very cool

And apparently their twitter contest idea is working because we are talking about their website.

Hi dana,

Thanks for the great share!

I ran there as soon as I saw your post..I used it and here is what I observed:

1. They have an easy to understand site design..

2. I signed up and was able to create a simple web site in minutes

3. They provided me with a subdomain URL. I chose one from sm4.biz

4. They provide a 14 day trial, after that you'll have the option to sign-up in their premium service or keep using the free service..

5. If you keep on using the free service, the condition is you'll have to update your site at least every 6 months..

7. When you click on the button "Keep my website free" only then will they ask you to validate your email..

If I'll be able to build sites here faster than in squidoo, I will consider it as one of my powertools..

My final observation is..It's a hassle free site, easy to sign-up and after several minutes of using it I can say the interface is user-friendly..This could be a good tool for newbies..I'm not so sure yet of all the website builder controls since I haven't used much of the tools yet.

We still have to check though if BIG G will index the sites faster.

But the best thing is IT'S FREE..

Will continue testing it and will update if I find something..
