Citation Issues for a Service Business

I Have a family owned service business. We are electricians, somehow my google plus page says I am an electric machine repair shop. Can I add electrician to it?

In my state we also officially started doing heating and air conditioning work too with licensing after years of every cretin having an unregulated hand in the game. If I say I do heating and air but my name same electric will that make my citations error?

    You can add in your description that you also make air conditioning installations. Anyway google takes more after the results his crawlers gather from the web, so the google plus page you have shouldn't bother you very much, ranking wise.

      These things could have a huge affect on your business. Electricians are not surgeons or Wall St lawyers but neither are they usually just scraping by e.g. like the owners of a small coin laundry. You should hire an expert on local seo and meet with them to discuss how to best handle this. $200 to $2000 spent now could return 10 to 50 times that over a few years- definately worth more effort than a quick question on a forum.

    citations error is based on NAP
    N for Name of Biz
    A for address
    P for Phone #
    if you change anything than Google do penalty for wrong NAP citations and you loose your ranking..

    but this is not your problem. you can add more categories in your GP listings and on your description or website mention these services via a separate page etc...
