How to add backlinks to Ezines - Pls Help

Hi there,

This is my first post here and really hope you can help me.

Previously I have written articles - Ezines and they have worked to some degree but many did drop out within a very short space of time. I just noticed other ezines were knocking mine off the top spots. I am due to start a new campaign now and intend to outsource my article writing so want to get it right this time round.

I have since realised that you need to promote your articles in the same way as a website in order for articles to rank well and stay well! So in a nutshell I read an ebook about dominating the top spots with the use of US Free Ads, Craigs List etc for valuable backlinks. I discovered yesterday that these are no follow sites so I figure will be a pointless exercise.

Please can someone give me some ideas of what I can do.

I keep hearing about social bookmarking but not sure how to do this and how many I need for each article?

I have heard you can get your RSS feed of your aricle account and ping it everytime a new aricle is made live - dunno if this will do anything?

Heard about Angela's backlink packs - I am just thinking if I do about 100 articles a month how I will use the 20 or so links a month- would I need to buy many packs as I not quite sure how many links per article I would need?

Any help in "ABC" form will be great as I am really trying to understand what to do once and for all and seem to have got abit confused lately. Some people just say knock out hundreds and move on which I will do, at the same time there are some of my competitors that have had articles in the top spots for 1-2 years and they seem untouchable, maybe they have some good backlink plan going on.

Sorry to ramble on in my 1st post but I am really praying some of you can help me so I can just get on with things. I know there is no magic formula but I am sure some of you may be using do follow backlinks for ezines and wouldn't mind sharing some info.

Cheers for reading this and look forward to hearing from you.

Yes, you can subscribe ro Angelas and Pauls backlinks. Then add say two to three links per submission pointing to some of your articles. To add a decent number of links to around 100 articles per month will be time consuming so why not choose say 3 of your best articles per month amd go to town on them.

Just make sure you do your keyword research well, write good titles and create your resource box in a way that will encourange or give people reason to click on your links.

    Cheers AndyBlack,

I will do this, a couple more questions.....

    1. Are Angelas and Pauls backlinks the same product or different ones? If you know the URL's then that would be great.

    2. Can you use more than 30 links a month by buying more bundles? Is this a membership site where they take the money month after month or do you need to actually purchase each month?

    3. I haven't a clue what this involves - I guess it will be explained for newbies like me?

Thanks for your help and cheers for any more info.

Angela's and Paul's products are different. It is a membership where every month you receive a batch of links.

Angela's (I can't speak for Paul's) sends you very clear instructions with screen shots of exactly what you need to do. Newbies should be able to follow along easily.

You can also set up your series of social profiling sites and backlink your articles from those sites.

Social profiling sites like squidoo, hubpages, wetpaint, xanga. Set up blogs on blogger, wordpress and livejournal and backlink to your articles through blog rolls and links within posts.

    Thanks alot Dee,

I will give these packs a go - Can anyone give the me the URLs for Angela and Pauls websites?

Also your other suggestions about social profiling can you have sites likes the ones you mentioned pointing to your ezine - website

So I guess it would look like this

    Squidoo - ezine - website
    hubpages - ezine - website
    Wetpaint - ezine - website
    Blogger - ezine - website

Would this work in terms of backlinking and traffic?

    Thanks a million

Point to your site as well as the ezine article, you're not limited to just one link. Use the keywords as the anchor text for your site for example Make money online in 21 days . And the title of the article for the anchor text to ezine.

I did a little experiment the other day. I set up a blog using a 4 word keyword phrase as the title of the blog and in the url. It was a blogger blog. I then set up 6 social profiling sites each using that 4 word phrase as the anchor text to the blog. I socially bookmarked the blog. I wrote one article and distributed it, again using the keyword phrase as anchor text.

The blog showed up on the first page of google within a week.

You've already gotten some great advice from AndyBlackSEO and DeePower but here is my two cents...

[1] Do good keyword research before writing your articles (ie make sure that you are targeting a primary keyword phrase that has decent traffic and reasonable competition)

Of course, "decent traffic" and "reasonable competition" are both subjective terms but you'll have to make the call as there are no hard-and-fast numbers to live by.

Also, you might check the "OCI" of the keyword phrase you are going to target before writing the article to make sure it is a term that is likely to draw someone with a "buyer's mindset" as opposed to someone looking for free information.

I use a piece of software, called Micro Niche Finder, to do this but you can also go to MSN's Ad lab to do this. It's here: adlab.microsoft.com/Online-Commercial-Intention/

If you are unfamiliar with OCI, you can read about it on MSN's page.

[2] Make sure your article title includes the primary keyword phrase and the closer to the beginning the better.

[3] Build some links to your article page (preferably the url on EzineArticles.com as it will almost always outrank the other directories)

[4] Do some social bookmarking of the url (only if the article is well written and likely to be found valuable by the reader)

    [5] Rinse and repeat

Now, regarding #4 and #5 - You can do this yourself a number of ways or you can outsource it.

I just checked the Classifieds section and found Warrior member, "Canada" offers both social bookmarking services and linkbuilding via Paul and Angela's links. (amoung other things)

I have never used her service, but it may be worth checking out.

    Hope this helps,
    Kevin
