Someone ordered iPhone 6

The tracker says its from my personal blog specifically through an article about metal detecting. The customer might have clicked the link to metal detector but ended-up buying an iPhone. This is actually the beauty of Amazon. One link can lead the customer to thousands of products.

You mention the reason I love Amazon, too. I see a lot of marketers put off by the commission structure, but you have to weigh that against the brand name (product acceptance) and the excellent point you raise above.

Sometimes, I have a little regret why I only focused on Amazon recently although it's not yet too late. If I started doing it several years ago I guess the result would have been different. But ever since I started to focus on it early last year, I never turned back. Another thing I noticed recently is that, i does not have "excluded products list" anymore so the products that were excluded before are now selling like hotcakes (eg GPS navigator, SLRs, to name a few).

You have exactly the right attitude. Where a lot of people go right is giving up before a method has time to pay off. You need to keep at it. And you're a prime example of how the "keep at it" approach pays off.

That's one of the perks of using Amazon affiliate links. I had someone order 15 Kindles once from a link on one of my blogs, which aren't about anything even remotely related to the Kindle.

Instead of boasting about a single sale maybe you could expand on your method ? Give newcomers a few tips without giving away your "secrets"...
I am sure that will be of more use to the forum in general......

I don't mean to be rude but... I don't get it. Why is everyone so congratulatory?

It actually seems like there is a BIG problem here. The OP has thousands of posts and I'm guessing is spending a LOT of time in IM. Yet... his biggest single item sale is $100 profit.

How is this good?

On top of that, it seems that it was pure luck:

Again, we are talking about Amazon and not Clickbank, neither own product. I am not claiming to be extremely lucky as I am collecting thousand dollars worth of Amazon check every month. We are talking about a single item here and not a collective commission.

Anyway, I have other better things to do than explaining this thing to people who doesn't understand a thing. Try promoting Amazon products and get back to me whenever you sell a single item that gives you $100 advertising fee in single sale.

Judging this thread through my number of posts is actually out of topic. The number of posts and the member's longevity here has nothing to do with the amount of money he is making online.

A member who is making around $10K a month suggests to pick products that are over $150. Now ask your self. How much one can make out of $150? At least $6 to $12 right? And you are complaining that I made $100 in just a single sale? Tsk tsk.....

OK, I agree that lucking into a big sale isn't that much of an achievement, but if the OP is happy, I'm happy for him (though I think he'll be a little less happy when he remembers that the commission for electronics sales is only 4%!)

Besides, what does it matter what his biggest single item sale is? It's the total profit on all your sales that matters, not the largest profit on a single sale. For instance, last year I had over 150,000 orders from Amazon, but only 3 times did I get commissions of $100 or more (and all of those would qualify as "luck" since they weren't items I was promoting). I can assure you that although I'm still not making the type of money to get on Jeff Bezos' Christmas card list, even my relatively low-priced items add up to a decent income.

So if the OP is doing well for himself selling cheaper items and is happy when he gets the occasional larger sale, I say good for him. Keep doing what's working for you!

Caps: Personal computers (including without limitation desktops, laptops, notebooks, tablets, and netbooks) have advertising fees capped at $25.

I was in 8.25% rate last month but this October I already surpassed the 3,131 number of sales to make it 8.5%

It's not the cap, it's the fixed rate in Table 1 of the Amazon Affiliates Fee Schedule (https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...dvertisingfees) that limits electronics products to a 4% commission:

You don't mean to be rude, yet you were. Look, the OP is excited about a sale they made. Making assumptions on how much time they spend here or what else they do based on how many posts they have is a dangerous slippery slope to start on.

The OP is happy about a sale, they want to share, I don't see what the big deal is. If more people were supportive in our little world of MMO-IM it would be a much better place.

Rod, i think the big deal is that there are some (Not saying anything about Adie) that start these "look what i did threads" with ulterior motives in mind...
We should in a nice way be able to ask questions when things don't add up.
It's not healthy to have a forum full of yes men and gullible gus' i don't think.

I get that, but Adie has been a long time member here and I would be more suspicious if Adie only had a few posts to their name. I think some people are too eager to jump on others too soon is the main point I was trying to make.

It's one of the main reasons why I didn't move or delete this thread.
