Is Amazon stealing affiliate's commission?

Hello fellow Amazon affiliates.

I have several Amazon affiliate sites and I had around 9% conversion rate for my affiliate links. That means for every 100 affiliate link clicks, I will have 9 sales.

But this month till now, my conversion rate is decreasing dramatically, so till today, my conversion rate is only 1%.

I am curious about what happened, so I visited my site, click through one of my affiliate link, and land on Amazon.com

To my surprise, I noticed that if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, there will be a header bar show up on the top, with "Add to the Cart" button on the right hand side, and the exact product info and picture on the left hand side.

So I guess by doing so, if the visitors from my affiliate site click "Add to the Cart" button, and check out through the shopping cart, I will not get commission?

If it's true, then this explains why my conversion rate dropped dramatically.

So do you see any drop of your conversion rate recently?

BTW, I have never seen that kind of header bar show up before. So I am pretty sure this is something new on Amazon.com

Update:

I cleared my computer cookie and went to my affiliate site, clicked through my affiliate link, and landed on amazon.com
This time when I scrolled down to the bottom of the page, I didn't see that header bar any more.

Apparently, there was something wrong before I cleared my computer's cookie. But I don't know what caused that.

I think that it's time to track your links a little bit better... If you track everything correctly you should be able to figure out EXACTLY if they steal your commission, something that I'm 100% sure that's not true.

They simply won't take a risk, affiliates have built their business, not sure if they would risk that.

What do you mean " track your links a little bit better" ?

I don't know how to track my links. I just login to Amazon.com and check my report. Then I will see my link clicks and sales.

I am 100% sure Amazon is not doing that. Based on my personal experience, Amazon is one of the most honest programs out there, better than Adsense when it comes to transparency. You need to start tracking your links, sales, and analyze your traffic. Check if your traffic are from countries that can buy Amazon products.

Do you mean you are 100% sure Amazon is NOT doing that?

Why would I think bad about the program who pays me well?

          100% true.

You can track your links with all kinds of programs, I'm using CPVLAB.

I think you said the opposite to what you intended to say, Adie?

The OP asked "Is Amazon stealing affiliates' commissions?" and you answered "I am 100% sure Amazon is doing that."

If you meant to say "I am 100% sure Amazon is NOT doing that", then I agree with you completely.

I just cleared my computer cookie and then login to my Amazon.com account.

I went to my affiliate site, and click through my affiliate link. Now when I scroll down to the bottom of the Amazon page, there is NO header bar show up any more.

This shows something really wrong before I cleared my computer cookie.

BTW, I am using EasyAzon WP plugin. Is there any problem with this?

If you are using wordpress, you can cloak your affiliate link with the structure : yourdomain.com/keyword, using free plugin like prettylink.
Now you can track the total number of clicks, then you can compare this result with the number provided by amazon.
    Hope this help!
