Newbie looking for advice

Hello fellow members,
My name is Steve and I am from Youngstown Ohio. I am going to get into selling on amazon and I came across ASM, the program looks great, but very expensive. I am willing and able to make that investment, I am questioning if I can learn and do just as well with another cheaper like PAC, Amazon boot camp, etc? I am brand new to this business and looking for the best fit... any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Hey samistovich

The best training I have seen on Amazon has been within the Wealthy Affiliate Community.

They consistently have the latest training on this topic, and I'm sure that it would be of great help to you.

    Hope this helps! :-)

    Hey Steve!

Listen brother, I don't recommend getting into Amazon as a newbie. Amazon pays out a 4% to 10% commission, depending on the kind of products you're selling and the amount that you actually sell. Bottom line, it's just difficult to be successful with Amazon as a complete newbie.

Look into Clickbank. Get yourself a free account and set up your information. It's basically a digital marketplace that connects product owners to affiliates, and most of the owners pay out 50% to 75% commission. So, as a comparison, if you sold an ebook on Amazon that costs 8 bucks, your commission would be incredibly low. However, on Clickbank you can sell ebooks and get 20 or 30 bucks per sale =)

I agree that Clickbank is a better choice when it comes to commissions. I have made money with both Amazon and Clickbank and I must say that I made a lot more money with Clickbank than Amazon.

Whether you decide to go with Clickbank or Amazon, just make sure you focus on one business model and don't let shiny objects, or a lack of instant results distract you.

Yes, first get some information, so that you have an idea of selling your product on another site. All the best!

I agree and disagree. Yes Amazon commission is low ranging from 4 - 10% but what you have is a established business that tirns over more than a billion each year. You can pick a selection of products to promote that is relevant to your market. Now to a get a good return you will need multiple sales each day and be doong this each day of the month. Now the problem with this is...

unless you have a good following of people who visit your blog or website whats going to stop them from just visiting Amazon. Im sure you know this but the cookies only last 24 hrs so if they click on your rhe link they MUST buy before the 24 hours has expired, otherwise you dont get the commission. Now on flip side if they do buy within that time frame and make multiple sales then you get all the commissions.

Another thing you might want to consider is 1) will they accept you as a affiliate? 2) how are you going to attract people to your links? 3) How does it all fit in to your overall picture meaning if you are considering this as a long term project have you set yourself goals?

Depending on what your looking to sell and and how you promote will have a reflection of your ROI (return of investment). In my experience I would say $200 each month for the first month of so and its slowly grows from there once you begin to build a reputation as a trustworthy brand. In my last month of doing Amazon I took home about $1260, now that was done because of careful choosing of what I eanted to sell plus I been working 3 months on building a following.

Now as for clickbank yes it has a higher commission but your kind of in the dark about the digital products your about to sell/promote. My only advice here would be look at the sale page, does it look professional enough, does it have many testimonials? Ask yourself would you buy it yourself? Now I know a lot of people will say that what the data figures are for well sorry to burst your bubble but they can be fudged by the creator, however not all of the data will be.

I guess it boils down to is that.... do you feel comfortable promting something that could potentially do more harm than good. Now it probably sounds like im anti clickbank, im not in fa t I did make some decent money when I first started but im not taking huge money. Clickbank is still a good idea but you need to really look hard for that golden nugget to really make good money and improving your brand.

My last piece of advice samistovich would be to look on forums first to get some FREE advice on the best way to sell Amazon products, you would be surprised to how much good techniques you can learn that doesn't cost you anything. Remember its a business your running here and profit is what your looking for so make sure any investment you make you can get a quick enough return on it.

Any questions please feel free to ask.

    Giod luck with your adventure.

Steve I really recommend you to look into high ticket affiliate programs to get bigger commissions.

Low commissions will limit you and will require much more traffic, time, and effort from your part. If you get higher commissions, the amount of sales you will have to make will decrease without compromising the amount of money you will get.

You can make 2 sales per month and get more than $2000.

Search for systems that take all the heavy weight from you and make the process much easier.
