Guest blogging is still a great way to gain traffic. Aim to write something brilliant and post it on a huge blog - it's worth the time. Also have a way of capturing traffic. One great post on a huge blog is worth more than 100 mediocre ones. Make sure people can sign up to a newsletter so you can communicate with them in the future.

I also have a website about health&stuff

What works for me is commenting on other similar blogs &websites in general. Promoting on Facebook, Pinterest &other social media is also OK.
Forum don't always work, unless you're writing really personal stuff, otherwise they see it your website as a threat.

In order to increase FREE traffic generation, you need to become a master of one craft at a time, and consistency is the backbone to success. There are several traffic sources i.e. blog posting, video, forum posting and social media that you can master. Persisting with the chosen method will in time render results and that not committing to this will only end up with “snail pace” traffic increases. So you need to make your chosen methods a habit. If after your designated time period there is no noticeable increase then try another method. I have been doing this and I am increasing my traffic

Have you tried submitting articles to article directories? My favorite is Ezinearticles. Write unique content and add your link with different anchors.

  Not for generating potential customer traffic to your website, no.

  Sorry, but this would be a dreadful idea, Andrew: for all the reasons explained throughout this thread, nobody should ever put unique content into an article directory. That would be very counter-productive indeed. It's because some people make the mistake of doing that, that one sees all these ill-informed threads in forums announcing that "article marketing doesn't work any more" (which, by the way, is also nonsense).

You'll undoubtedly get lots of advice on the sources of free traffic. So, instead, I'll just remind you:

More important than how much traffic you get is what you do to improve the quality of that traffic by the time some of it turns into subscribers.

A 50K list can be worth $50 a month or $50,000.

Look into Clickbanking (NOT the same as Clickbank) where people send you clicks in return for you sending them the same.

You can find people that will agree to send to you first or for you to send to them first.

Search "clickbanking" in Facebook, you will find several groups. Join them, make connections, agree a deal = free traffic

Actually Every forum site does not allow signature, some site accept signature instantly, some sites will permit you after making sense post 10, 15 or, 20. when you make 20 post they will permit you to ad signature. some sites count day, such as after 3 days you will be able to add signature.

Forum posting, article submission, blog commenting are the good way to increase traffic.
