Alternatives to his software? Too many to mention. That is kind of the reason he shut it down, right? The best alternative I know of is simply invest a day or two learning to create your own custom banners. Too easy!

Short of that, you could try to get your license key resent from here. Or, try his help desk or knowledge base.

    No, it's not.

He wanted to relax for a while.

I still use Xheader for a lot of things.

Brent, you don't know what you're talking about. Paul Smithson's reason #7 for closing his company down, "Competition: Today, there are hundreds of competing products, both online and offline. These range from totally free to software selling for hundreds of dollars."

"You can read more about the reasons the company is closing down here": "12 reasons why the life of XSitePro desktop version has come to an end", Paul Smithson.

Brent, Paul Smithson didn't say he closed his company down because "He wanted to relax for a while". He said, "After taking all of this (his 12 reasons) into account - and factoring in the health challenges I've had over the last two years - I was really left with no alternative."

Personally, I was pulling for Paul to find someone to take over XSitePro and/or XHeaderPro. If anyone is interested, here's his link.

The only difference between xHeader and xHeaderPro is the number of built-in header templates. I still use xHeader often (and do have pro), but use it (most often) to make quick and easy custom sidebar ads.

CNet still has the free xHeader version available for download.
