I don't know who you heard that from, but I've never had a problem with them.

I've been buying domains from godaddy for over a year and have almost 100 domains with them and have never had a problem. but if you don't want to go with them, I've heard namecheap is a good place for domains.

Never had a problem with GoDaddy personally and we have all of our domains with them, as do the majority of our clients - for most of what you need it's all automated anyway. Good prices as well.

What I've heard the problem with godaddy so far is just their hosting services,
not so sure about that, haven't use them, but mostly wouldn't recommend using their hosting services.

I hear a lot of complaints about GoDaddy but I have never had an issue with them. I used name.com quite a bit until their prices went up. They are good too. Great customer service.

For a domain I just bought

    GoDaddy $6.75

    Namecheap $9.65

I have never had any problems with GoDaddy but I don't host with them -I just buy domains.

If you don't want to use godaddy or not satisfied then just go for namecheap because it's best and recommended by so many people even on this thread as well
    Thanks

I use name.com - good prices and you don't have to wade through half a ton of ads before you get to checkout.

I agree with LynnM, Godaddy has a horrible system.

Also, when you purchase from Godaddy you don't get the whois protection that Namecheap automatically adds. By the time you add that in at Godaddy, the price is right up there.

If you do a domain search on Godaddy and have to leave for a few minutes, the domains you have searched for will not be available when you go back. That doesn't happen at Namecheap.
