Amazon cookie only 24 hours

I have a question for those who are trying or are making money selling Amazon products as their affiliates. How is it possible to earn their commissions when their cookies only last for 24 hours which I feel is rather mean on their part. Because if I were to buy some expensive item from Amazon say for over $500.00, I would definitely want to go to other websites, read their reviews and compare prices which would definitely take more than 24 hours. And if I were an amazon affiliate who had painstakingly worked hard to promote Amazon products staying up till the wee hours of the morning sacrificing my sleep but still managed to get my leads to buy but they all bought 24 hours after reading my reviews then all my sweat and tears working on it would have been in vain. I ended helping Amazon to sell but I earned nothing.

I am quite interested in learning how to sell physical products. Could anyone recommend a course that teaches newbies how to sell physical products online preferably with cookies more than 24 hours. Thanks in advance.

Never had a problem with it. But I don't send lookers and researchers to Amazon. I send people to Amazon when they have their wallet out and are ready to buy.

Thanks Rob, how do you send the hungry online shoppers who have their credit cards ready to Amazon?

which I feel is rather mean on their part.
Simple answer if you don't like their policies, don't promote them.

Digital products are much easier to sell for newbie affiliates.

Affiliate product marketing is like any other form of product marketing. You need to find ways that separate you from the rest. If you are trying to sell Iphones as an Amazon Affiliate, well so are 10,000,000 other people. The goal is to separate yourself from then rest. It may be in the information you give, or how exactly you present the offer.

I can tell you from Personal experience that there actually is a method using the Amazon Affiliate program that clearly can separate you selling the exact same product from the rest. I am without question NOT going to share that here.

I personally find selling hard product to be easier than selling a digital product. Let me say that again I PERSONALLY find selling hard product to be easier.

Overall there are a lot fewer working pieces in the process. you can even go so far as to turn and burn traffic just to make the sales, forgoing the idea that you need to have a mailing list.

I am going to be straight up honest, I use the turn and burn method on well over 90% of my hard product based sites. I generally do not build sites that sell a 1 single product. I sell hundreds and thousands of items. I have a site that has well over 6000 soccer items for sale. the average cart is over $100.00 and I make in excess of $1000 a week. and it does it week in and week out. ( well except for world cup... it was considerably higher ).

I think the overall secret in this type of model is to NOT focus specifically on a item or even a handful, go big and cover the whole niche or evergreen. The software is out there to do this, and do it really well.

Promoting physical products is no different than promoting digital ones. Affiliate marketing is affiliate marketing. One thing I will say is that since the commissions on physical products tend to be quite small, you should either look for programs that pay a flat rate per commission (pay-per-lead) and/or cross promote related products in order to bolster your commissions.

As an Amazon shopper, Amazon is my "go-to place" when it comes to online shopping. If I decide I want to buy something, it's almost always from Amazon. It's like automatic. The only other place I might buy something from is Wal-mart -- but only if I don't find the specific thing on Amazon. My point is that I wouldn't worry about the cookie thing.

I personally never had a problem making money with Amazon. Its all depends on how your promoting and what your promoting. Most people who buy on Amazon will return before 24 hrs elapse if they aren't sure what they looking for but if they have a clear idea then I would expect them to pay there and then.

Im assuming you did your homework before joining Amazon?Stick with it because it can be a nice little side earner. I personally never regretted it and will be returning to that method early next year.

If you can get them to add to cart, then it's good for up to 90-days (until the shopping cart expires).
