Getting Content Ideas

Just curious guys, how do you get ideas for creating content; I mean like getting blogpost topics. Also do you experience hitches in doing this?

If you have passion for the subject of your blog - or if you are trained, educated, or experienced in the topic, you will never lack for content ideas.

Go online, do a search on your best keywords, then visit the top sites, forums, blogs, and directories in the market and you will never lack for content ideas.

Go to Amazon, eBay, Yahoo, Bing, Google and see what's selling in the topic and you will never lack for content ideas.

      This is so true.

I can write content all day on the topics of interest to me, but give me something to write about that doesn't interest me and i get bloggers block!.

You could turn to other sites in your niche for inspiration..

Yes that statement might be correct for people who do this as a hobby or for fun. If you wanna make money you dont go after niches you are experienced in, you go after the niches that are profitable.

Agreed. Wanna retire or work for da man?

Has anyone said PLR? PLR = Private Label Rights Articles...Chop them, change them, rearrange them. If you were wondering what that stands for

Normally when I wake up in the morning I'm sore all over and I take a hot shower before sitting down with a cup of coffee and watching a little tv where I go... oh yea, that's a good idea.

Sometimes I hit the forums and social media to see what type of questions people are asking and 'what's hot'

Do a keyword research for your niche and find keywords that are
    1. Related to your niche
    2. Searched by your audience (sufficient search volume)
    3. [Bonus] Money words - you can convert these readers to sales/leads
    4. [Bonus] Low competition - you can actually rank top page for these words

To get keyword ideas, check for a tool named Keyword Snatcher. To check the rest, you will need other, bit pricier tools.

    Good luck.

Reddit can be a good source for what's popular...

Look into BuzzSumo(there is a free version of this), search for your topic/niche, and it will show you articles that are popular that people have shared. Take an article an write about it, make it better.

Brian Dean recently did a great guest post on SPI, that you should read. Halfway through the post, he talks about ways to get ideas for content...It's a long read but well worth.
It will take you awhile to read it all.. Read it hereTHE Backlinking Strategy That Works – 2014 and Beyond Edition

Thanks, and have a good day.

After your done reading it, please come back here and let me know if that helped you at all.

I have lots of empty papers in my room... when I get an idea crap or not I jot it down instantly. I have an entire plastic bag full of small pieces of paper all with ideas for blog posts/articles/follow up emails & even products and more. My mind is always "tuned" in the niche I'm in (because I read and involve myself in the niche) so I get ideas from time to time.

    Hi,

I would suggest you going out to those book store...find the book of your niche, and read the content page. There will be many main topic and sub topic at the content page.

Take that as a reference and you may look at other books too.

    Hope this helps

    It's pretty cool!

    Hope it helps!

Take time to read a lot of other blogs in your niche and see what subjects they are missing. Keep a list of topics you think that people in the niche would like to read about, but not already covered on the sites you are visiting.

I think a lot of great ideas have already been posted but I also have to add in the advantage changing your environment can have. Go to a coffee shop, take a walk or something like that. Don't do something that will totally distract you, like watching a movie, but do something that will let your mind run free.

Meditation is great for this too. If your mind is jumbled up TRYING to think of ideas, meditation can level you out so you can start fresh.

If you are open for ideas, sometimes they'll find you. For example, I just added your post question to my content idea list for a YouTube video in the near future. Thanks for the idea!

It's very easy to get ideas for blog posts . . . just do a Google search for the topic and skim through the results, even the titles should give you enough info for ideas of similar but unique articles, then just do your research online (I usually start with Wikipedia) and write the articles.

There are many ways you can get great ideas for content writing.

One great way is to go to ezine articles and check the article's titles in your niche.
You can also find some ebooks in your niche. One ebook by itself can give you may great ideas. This is something I've done before.

      I look offline.

      ("Libraries are my friends".)

I have to be able to give my readers/visitors/subscribers some information that they can't find elsewhere online. They're all people who have looked online, and many of them still do. The way to get them to subscribe to my list, and for them to await and expect and open and pay attention to my emails (which is where my money comes from, because I'm an affiliate marketer, myself) is to show them that this brings them some new and different information.

      .

This idea of going offline to find new information works really well because so many people are just regurgitating and rewriting the same information they find online and publishing again, only to be copied and republished. Typically speaking, an offline book goes through very stringent publishing guidelines and meets certain requirements for facts and content. Where as an online article/blog/wiki can be written/published with minimal fact checking/supervision/time and authority value is questionable, at best.

My favorite source of getting ideas is by reverse engineering.

I like to find people in my niche that give a lot of value and I create contents about topics they talk about or other similar ones that come to my mind.

The key is to be network with others on social media like FB and YouTube.

Find people whom you like and see what they are posting about.

    Hope this helps
