If you mean fake video testimonial I don't do or suggest you do that. At first you many not have any video testimonials (or any testimonials at all) on your website, but over time you can acquire them, when you start selling.

You can get them honestly by properly asking customers for that (and other methods). Try a follow up email you send to customers asking them for feedback, and a video testimonial. You can be professional and give them a sort of survey to fill and the ability to upload a video. Promising them a free gift for providing you feedback increases the changes they do all that work for you.

    Try tools like http://askdatabase.com

Easily noticeable and should be illegal. You're basically paying someone to lie. Who knows what those people really think about your product? Not you, me, or anyone else who watches their 'testimony?'

The right way is to offer real review copies and get real opinions on your product. You'll get more honest reviews and guidance about improve it too. Very valuable, and not just outright lies to sell your product.

Not a good idea at all...

The least you could do is give out some review copies and have people do a testimonial. It's still a form of solicited reviews but at least the people were able to check out the product and if it's bad they can still refuse...

I think it's like a TV ad, they're paying for ads. like that ..
Watch the ads a little closer. Some of them feature actors in obviously staged scenes. If there's even a whiff of eau de testimonial in the air, there's also a disclaimer that the spokesperson has been compensated.

One thing that people can do is hire actors to read real testimonials. Then the disclaimer changes from "compensated endorser" to "actual testimonial on file", as long as it's true.

Of course, that's a far cry from buying one of those Fiverr gigs with some gomer gushing about everything from feminine hygiene to life insurance.

Using them here in a WSO used to get you banned. Don't know if the rules have changed or not

Testimonials are always a very useful tool to attract people into your business. BUT, if you really want to start a REAL business stay away from unethical actions.

Even though people may be fooled at first, lying is always reflected in other aspects. It may be difficult to believe but people actually see the real you through your content and the way you market. If you are totally ethical in what you do people will be much more attracted.

As you progress you will be getting testimonials from the people who buy and you will be able to have more social proof!

Anytime you PAY someone to give you a testimonial about your product, this is not the way to go.

I personally think that you should not do this.

Ask your customers if they liked your product and if they are willing to give you a testimonial for free. This is the way to go.

  • For a WSO? Yup, bad idea. I would rather have you just give away a free copy and hope for a video testimonial over a paid idea.

Not really good way to start your business at all. It would be different if you gave it away to a group a people and ask for a response back but paid testimonials is not the way to go especially if you all about giving quality content.
