Selling affiliate products on a free wordpress site?

Is it possible to rank a blablabla.wordpress, com site in a search engine? and has anyone had any success selling products on one? P.S I know it is better to get your own domain and hosting, but that is not a possibility for me right now. I was hoping to use profits to begin creating sites like that.

Yes, but it doesn't matter, because it wouldn't last long anyway.

    Only temporarily.

A blog selling/promoting anything, at wordpress.com, will be removed as soon as a staff member sees it, because it's contrary to the terms of service. Exactly what happened to the Blogger site in your signature, and for the same reason. Learn something from that, and move on.

It's not just that "your own hosting" is better. It's essential.

Especially for a site advising people how to make money online.

Free sites at Blogger and wordpress.com have no credibility at all. You're effectively saying to people "I can teach you how to make money online and by the way I can't afford my own hosting". How impressive does that look?

    Money isn't needed
. You can get perfectly decent free hosting at freehostia.com, byethost.com, 000webhost.com, and a number of other places, and install a self-hosted WordPress blog on it. If you can't buy a domain-name, those places will all even give you a free subdomain just like wordpress.com will. You still won't have much credibility, using someone else's subdomain, but at least then you won't be living in daily fear of your blog being removed for breaching the terms of service. Just saying ...

        You're welcome, good luck.

I think that at Freehostia you may be able to install a WordPress blog as a one-click operation (though that probably isn't the most secure way to install it). At Byethost or 000WebHost I think it's more work to install WordPress.

I think that Byethost might be the safest and most reliable of those free hosts, but none of them will put their own advertising on your pages, like some free hosts do.

I haven't looked recently, so check all this information rather than just relying on it!
