Multi-page sales advertisements. Do they work?

I was searching for a 3D ebook cover creator earlier and clicked on an ad on Google Search for Boxshot. The program has updated a lot since last time I used it some years back. They have a 3 page 'infomercial' type sales ad that results in a free demo download.

How To Make a 3D Ebook Cover Image
I'm not associated with the site but was impressed with this concept as it seems more newsy and helpful than a typical 'buy now!' type one page ad.

Would you use a similar concept for your sales page, splitting it up over multiple pages and making it pose more of a wiki style or is that too indirect?

This is just a classic example of a squeeze page, that leads the site visitor from one page to another, drawing conclusions on their behalf or showing the logic of an idea. So long as it ends in a download or sale, you have done your job.

The multi page sales ad works especially well for a product that is being advertised on Adwords as the person clicking on the ad is likely already presold on the idea of buying the product or at least reading more about it and will take the time to learn more rather than reading a summary/excerpt about the product and clicking away.
